In all reality, paying $249 vs. $499 is a huge difference. And for the JBL to only sound slightly better ? It's a no-brainer for me.

I mean that's the conclusion soundcore is paying to be drawn. If he reached a different conclusion they wouldn't let him report it. That's why we should just stop watching these videos that are advertisements. The problem is sound core has paid off virtually every single TH-cam channel and so everything that anyone ever says about them is positive.
Look I love soundcore products, I have the q30 and a pair of motion booms and life u2, Liberty 3 Pro. I don't know if I was manipulated into buying them or not but now seeing the way they have just bought out every TH-cam channel, I'm going to find a company that actually puts their resources into the products and not into the marketing.
If you have to pay every TH-cam channel to say that you're good... The problem is there's not a lot of good media literacy, a lot of people can't even tell the difference between a sponsored video. Some creators don't disclose it at all or only disclose it in the corner

The speaker regularly goes on sale for $350 and during that time you can buy refurb units for sub $300. I got one for $260 after tax and at that price it’s a no brainer.

I have two boombox 3’s and my boyfriend has two regular boom 2’s and although I did get my boombox’s for 329$ each on sale I would still say for the 100$ price of the other two it’s so much more worth it.
Light up passive radiators are amazing too.
Buy two of the boom 2 plus in stereo mode and you absolutely destroy the JBL with actual stereo separation.
For the price of 1 Boom 2 Plus, you can actually get 2 Onn Large Party Speakers from Walmart, which will destroy all of them.

And finally, I just want to emphasize the massive improvement you get from playing two of any same speakers paired in tws, especially when placed at least 8 ft apart from one another. The true stereo separation from distinct left and right channels and the elevated immersiveness cannot be matched. 2 always beats 1 with better, bigger and fuller sound. So I strongly suggest getting two Boom 2 Plus speakers over one JBL Boombox 3, Or for that matter, go for two Boom 2's over one Boom 2 Plus. You're welcome😁

I knew Boom 2 plus would never touch that deep bass of Jbl bb3 but in loudness & overall performance & price, it's fair enough, the only speaker that can come close with bb3 in terms of deep bass & fair price is the Wking x20 which is a 3 way speaker with that dedicated woofer, mid range drivers & tweeters & almost same size as the bb3 but at a great price of $230
I also love some of the cool features like that 30 watts input charging, 15 watts output when used as a powerbank, the advanced graphic equalizer, the rgb is cool too though i'm not a fan of it, that option of carrying strap & built in handle is very nice, then finally the weight advantage
I'm looking forward to comparisons between this and the famous value boombox Tribit stormbox blast & other boomboxes

Just for refference, i tested my Boom Plus (1) in 100% Volume. You get 6-7 hours out of it. On 70-80% you get around 14-16h, on 50 an below I managed to get up to 26h out of it

The soundcore “party boost” is way better too. Pair them in stereo turn them both on and they Auto connect. I’m always fighting with JBL’s whack app.

One thing you forgot to mention at least for me is that the soundcore is usb type C which makes it very convenient especially meand you dont have to worry about having a proprietary cable and can use any charger you have or your friends. Most poeple now days have 20-100 USB c chargers around their homes.
I did mention this but yes I agree USB C is the way to go 🙌

I use 2 soundcore Boom 2 and i made a custom eq Like JBL and The Sound is a JBL Killer i Tell you ! Soundcore is the best and i prob will Order 2 of the Boom 2 plus and use my eq

Soundcore sounds better in my opinion. But you can get 2 boom2s for stereo sound at 30$ cheaper. Gives a combined 160w with a full mind blowing sound

@@pickyaudio I've tried it with one and a jbl charge 5 and it sounded great. Didn't get "stereo" sound but sounded awesome! My samsung does multimedia output. But I can imagine with 2 boom2s it sounding even better

It is only true with "bass up" on for Soundcore and when JBL playing on flat settings. So it is apple to orange comparsion.
When play Souncore on regular settings JBL has better low end.
If You crank settings on JBL speaker - JBL is stil better to Souncore with bass up on.
Only difference - Souncore has dedicated button, JBL need acces via app to change this.

I’m not an expert on battery degradation but as long as you still drain the battery here and there it should be fine. Not completely drain but just use the speaker not plugged in.
Yes it does. Lithium batteries degrade faster when they are close to being fully charged or discharged. It's better to just use it unplug it and use it until depleted, charge it, repeat. Ideally you'd keep it between 20% and 80%, but ain't nobody got time for that

Motion Boom plus 1st gen has 13400. Don't know why they only put in 7500 now
That's not how the maths work
The Motion Booms battery is actually 7.2 volts, 4900mah OR if you want to put it in simple terms of using 3.6 volts, then it'll be 3.6 volts, 9,800mah battery which is approximately 10,000mah, then to get the total power in watts, multiply voltage by current p = v x i
So the Motion Boom's wattage will now be 7.2 volts x (4900/1000)amp = 35.28wh or approximately 36wh battery
Now, if you follow the above example for the Boom 2 Plus, you'll have 7.2 volts, 7,500mah OR 3.6 volts, 15,000mah, then the real power is 7.2 x (7,500/1000) = 7.2 x 7.5 = 54wh (watt-hour)
Now, the Jbl bb3 is 7.2 volts, 10,000mah OR in simple terms 3.6 volts, 20,000mah
The real power in watts is 7.2v x 10a = 72wh
Summary
Motion Boom = 10,000mah battery, 36wh
Boom 2 Plus = 15,000mah battery, 54wh
Jbl boombox 3 = 20,000mah battery, 72wh

In my opinion the boom plus 2 has more bassy and wider sound than jbl. But jbl Has a crisp and balance sound.
I wish you didn’t use their supplied Boombox 3. Probably was tampered with. But I got my boombox 3 new on eBay for $350. It’s a better price

The boom 2 is way to Mid sounding , and is a upper bass speaker to punch .
Talking Canadian dollars, I got the Boombox 3 for $450, and the Boom plus is $340. I’d say at that price the boombox is a deal.
For a Boombox, I expected much fuller overall bass but it doesn't. Sure the Boom 2 Plus doesn't go as deep but the bass stands out for having that powerful attack because of its overall bass tuning. JBL recessed its upper bass and midbass to make the deepbass stand out. Ideally good for indoors but gets lost outdoors
1 100% agree. Even a simple outdoor mode would work in the Boombox x 3’s favour

@@ricadoreynolds1950 well you can easily tweak its EQ to improve its sound as it is rather more flexible to adjust. JBL on the other hand only has 3 band which isn't as flexible and doesn't really boost the area between mid bass to upper bass to make it sound fatter when using it outdoors. Not to mention that the price isn't comparable and an easy win for the Soundcore. If price isn't an Issue, I'd rather have a Vifa Copenhagen 2.0 as it is close to a HIFI sounding and is loud enough to compete with these Boomboxes.

@@legendaryblood1937The bass on the BB3 can easily be tweaked to perfection by using a 3rd party App like PowerAmp. I never use the built in App's EQ when I buy Bluetooth speakers, I can get so much more performance out of them using up to 30 bands on PowerAmp...

Battery would be tie for me or even win for soundcore. I guess que playtime will be almost the same cause it consume less power..
But the charging technology is so much superior and convenient... faster charging... with any charger you already have.. no worries if you loose the proprietary charger... so for me Battery would be at least a tie
