- Hello everyone! Today, I'll be testing another SK cartridge, namely the SK Standard Plus. This is a popular cartridge that offers a good balance between quality and price. Many shooters consider it to be their go-to choice. We'll find out how it performs in my Hämmerli 215 pistol today.
In this test I'll be using my old Hämmerli 215 competition pistol. It has proven to be a super accurate pistol, and it really shows the cartridges potential. The gun will be in a Ransom rest to secure that the test is accurate.

Some are sold out, or unavailable at the moment, but I have 80+ of these at hand already. Shooting will mostly be done prone, but I will be using a shootingrest when available. Range is 25 yards. I will be dividing ammo into groups. They will be as follow; bulk, standard, match, high velocity, subsonic and specialtyammunition.
I'm looking forward to doing this test and share the results with you all!

When I can get it I use SK Standard Plus for training, and SK Rifle Match when shooting at matches. That's in my CZ MTR.
I'm very happy with SK in general. And they have been some of the more available on the market, at least here in Norway. A little pricey, but good ammo.

Im an SK shooter and the SK Standard Plus returns exceptional groups out of my Vudoo.. My preferred SK is the SK Pistol Match
Yes, the Pistol Match is a great cartridge. The only problem is that they are impossible to get hold of at the moment. Have you tried the SK Biathlon? They perform superbly in my guns.
@thegunviking I haven't tried the Biathlon but I have tried the SK rifle match and SK long Range. Right now I am just trying anything to keep shooting as my favorites are hard to find

Hi enjoyed the video sk ammunition works well in cz457 rifles I’ve seen on TH-cam etc but just can’t get hold of any in the uk certainly not local to me thanks again

I always enjoy your vids I have had good value and performance from this ammo based on the low price here in Australia where at the moment choice is very limited but I sort considerably that helps the accuracy.
Ammunisjon seems to be a problem worldwide. Here in Norway, it has mostly been okay to find different types, but in the last year, it has become scarce. Additionally, we have a problem with the EU wanting to ban lead ammunition. What do we do then...

SK Yellow is one of my Go-To's in two rifles.
I know a lot of people is happy with this cartridge. It did perform quite good, but CCI does just as good in this gun at a 30% lower cost. That said, SK is one of my favorite manufacturers.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos! To answer you question; no I haven`t weighed and sorted the ammo. I know the real serious shooters also measure rim thickness. I might take the time to do this one day, and compare resault from the sorted/non sorted.
Standard plus is pretty darn good if you can find and afford it. Its rather pricey here in the States. I see the vertical stringing is still visible, poor charging of powder again. Seems quantity over quality rises again.
Here in Norway, it's one of the more popular cartridges and usually relatively easy to obtain. Currently, there's a bit of an ammo shortage, but hopefully, it will improve as the season progresses.
Have you considered weighing the rounds into batches of like weight to check for charge consistency. I shoot SK pistol match special in a rifle and find weight matching improves accuracy notably,and have found up to .7 grain difference in weight,which doesn't sound much but it is a large percentage of the combined primer and powder charge. 🙃
I have considered it, and it makes sense when it comes to getting as small a group as possible. Also measure rim thickness is helpful. On the other hand I want to see what the cartridge is capable of straight out of the box.

Extreme spread velocity or not, that thing really shoots !!
It performed quite well. But you should have seen SK Biathlon. I did a test with them, and the groups were spectacular! However, the camera had malfunctioned, so when I got home, there was no footage... I will test them again next time.
Gun Viking, I did not see this ammunition fired out of one of your rifles ( unless I missed it ). Inconsistent velocity does not surprise me coming out of your pistol. I feel a longer barrel would allow more consistent power burn. It seems to me that it has the potential to do better. Thank you.

Weird....at my range SK match (green) and standard (yellow) are always available and affordable . I don't know if it is allowed to write it: anyway they come around s e v e n E u r o s per box . Not bad. I agree with your statement about slippery: they easily fall on the bench and leave an uncomfortable oil layer on the hands
That price is comparable with what we pay in Norway. Usually SK is one of the more easy ammo variants to come by, but it has become ever more difficult to find them. The importer is sold out, so it`s only what already exist in the stores.

Hei! Jeg har faktisk testet Eley Standard, men ikke fått satt sammen videoen ennå. Det er riktignok en eldre lot som kommer i 50 pakker. Jeg har Eley i bulk også, men ikke testet den ennå. Hopefully soon. All rifle ranges are closed due to high fire hazard. There is no rain…
I have had rather poor results with SK std plus in my rifle as well, cost vs performance ratio pretty low. SK Rifle Match, much better.
My best results with "budget ammo" is the SK Long Range and SK biathlon. Otherwise the Eley Tenex is hard to beat in my rifles(except the Bergara BXR wich malfunctions hard with Tenex).
its not designed for pistols
Tested them in my Bergara the other day(video on my channel) with variable result. Some groups was great, other not so much. As a whole I like SK ammo.
@@thegunviking Finding it hard to get SK in the uk at present, everyone is out of stock.... how do you like your Bergara, is it the B14R steel barrel? They do a heavy steel barrel now... tempted but might go for a CZ457 barreled action.
