This same SK shot best out of about 14 different ammo in my Bergara B14. Bought a new 457 Varmit MTR went straight to the SK and the first 50 rounds it out shot my best group in the Bergara using this same ammo.
I use SK Standard Plus (yellow box) in my CZ 457 Varmint 20.5” (all original) and I also find it to be best in my gun as well. I have the KYL target also and 7 of 10 on the 1/4” hanger at 50 yards and I’ve hit the 1/4” swinger at 25 yards 20 in a row. It seems effortless. And I have an Athlon 6-24 scope on it.
Thanks. Always helpful. I'm going to purchase the CZ 457 just wondering where you purchased your cheek riser? It looks like you didn't have to drill into the stock?
@TheDollarSportsman I'm going to be purchasing the CZ 457. Have you tried hollow point 22 caliber ammunition in the Sun and how does it compare to non hollow point?
I honestly didn’t even try with this one :P; everything has been getting demonetized for me recently. Of course they can’t have safe, proper gun handling on TH-cam making a profit; it goes against their Chinese overlords’ command 😅.
@TheDollarSportsman #FACTS My latest video was about how to get a TLR-7 SUB Flashlight to fit correctly and safely to a SIG P365 XMACRO TACOPS. You need an aftermarket key from Tactical Development that goes on the Flashlight, and of course, I got demonetized. Seems like a lot more videos are getting demonetized lately. I even put up a post asking if my viewers have been seeing my content, and I got 7 like and 6 comments... I have over 3k subs.... how is that possible?
Good video. i am a fellow left handed shooter and am looking at getting a CZ also. Which variant did you get?? Looks like the RH Varmint with the 20 inch barrel. i am debating between the Pro Varmint and Varmint. Really hard to find either one right now. I have seen LH Varmint version available but I like the precision of what i see from the Pro Varmint can do but has shorter barrel. Really curious about which variant you have. Thank you very much.
I picked up the version with the Boyd’s stock (24” barrel); you definitely don’t need the 24” model, though. 20” will do you plenty of good. The 457 AT-ONE (my model) is based off the Varmint but with the suppressor ready barrel, which seems to be the primary difference between a classic varmint model and the pro (besides the stock).
I know its late but im a lefty also and off the bench a RH bolt gun is no problem if the ergonomics of the stock is ambidexterous but if hunting a true left hand gun is so much nicer. I bought the 457 Varmint LH with threaded barrel and its a fantastic rifle!
My CZ 457 MTR 20" shoots best with SK Rifle Match. Sub 0.5 moa at 50 and 100 meters. I live where SK ammo is manufactured and it's becoming expensive, and difficult to get.
Great video. Everyone always enjoys rifle/ammo accuracy video's. I didn't catch what ballistic calculator that you used. Would you mind sharing the name? Thanks!
Ehh. I want to be impressed with the 457, but I've yet to see a video that convinces me. A guy at our range handed me a Tikka T1X, outfitted with a CVLife scope that wasn't even remotely leveled and an Amazon bipod, with a ten-round magazine of Federal Automatch. I shot just under a half-inch group at 50 yards, zero flyers. I couldn't believe it. 16" barrel. I wouldn't consider SK ammo "budget" either. That's the most expensive .22 LR I've seen around here by a pretty good margin.
Honestly the FX Impact on the high end has been excellent as a Bullpup setup :). On the budget end, I’m not sure, though. It seems like the budget side all out the levers in the buttstock instead of moving them up a bit.
Checking in, I go to pick up my son's 16" AT-ONE tomorrow at our local Scheels. After Tax and $10 shipping into the store my out the door will be $854.88.
@@TheDollarSportsman Ya $779.99 base cost, I found a local place that does some large online business also and their website showed a much more favorable price on maybe a varmint mtr so I rushed down to their local store which is attached to the warehouse and of course it wasn't in stock. I had him get a price and the price was out of date also.
I d have a hard time calling it “the best” ammo it’s decent plinking ammo compared to true match grade ammo. Stralock took the drop in inches off the SK web site without converting it to Mil, which would explain the excessive hold over number it gave.
That’s just it, though: it works as well if not better than some match ammo out of the CZ 457 specifically, which is why it’s so impressive (and for at least half the cost). Good point on the holdover, however
@@TheDollarSportsman How many 457’s do you own? How many have you shot? I have two, my wife has one and I’ve built or worked on a few dozen. As an example the MTR guns I have don’t like the Yellow box stuff. As a whole Rimfire guns don’t “ALL” like or shoot well with one ammo, that’s why you hear and read about lot testing where even different lots of the same ammo don’t necessarily shot the same size groups with different lots much less different ammo. Stretch that stuff out to 100 or 150 yards and see what you get. The way Rimfire ammo is sorted into practice, club and different match grade ammo is by how consistent it tests after being made with the same components on the same machines. @@takedeadaim8671 yellow box has in fact been discussed on forums and by users of the CZ 457 many times 😎. Match ammo is great, don’t get me wrong, but it sure is great to find a less expensive ammo that works wonderfully in these rifles.

@@TheDollarSportsman I used to shoot golf balls at 200 yards with my remington 512 .22LR... just maxed out elevation and aimed 3.5 mils high and dialed the scope to 10x since it is a sfp scope. If that's impressive to him he hasn't stretched out a .22LR very far.

Absolutely, sir!
Great vid, I can agree with you on the ammo. Best group so far is .3. I would say, I’ll improve with a trigger spring kit. Again, great vid.

Incredible accuracy way out at 172 yards with a little wind.
Great shooting, but my friend, you pick the best background I ever seen on TH-cam review.. great job 👏
Thanks, man :); it is indeed purdy!
Nice job young man
Canadian prices have created a market where there is no such thing as a budget rifle or budget ammunition.
Can confirm the SK Standard Plus ammo is what my CZ 457 Lux loves best. It's on par with Eley Match in terms of group size at 50 yards.
Will the same rifle with the 16.5 inch barrel like the SK Standard Plus as well as your 24”?
Nice gun, good video, but you're kinda buggering up the chamber face when you dry fire. Will eventually effect head space
CZ actually says dryfiring the 457 is fine
I use cci standard on my CZ 452 Warmit.. dam good accurate. :)
