    After much ammo testing my local RFD is now stocking SK so i thought i'd try them, Standard Plus/ Long Range Match/ Pistol Match and Rifle Match. After much testing and with a pull through and 10 fouling shots between the different types the Standard Plus returned the best groups through my CZ 455 16" Varmint. All in all my CZ seems to like SK's

    using my cz 457 synthetic with 12oz trigger i get about the same results with PM, RM and standard plus… just a tad better average with pistol match ( not pm special) so from now on i’ll purchase whichever is the better deal. they’re all sooo close it’s splitting hairs really. great vid as usual, thx!

    Brett, enjoy your vids. I finally had a nice day to take my new CZ 457 ProVarmint out to the range to ammo test. TRY THE SK FLATNOSE MATCH! I tested SK: Standard Plus, Rifle Match, Long Range Match, and Flatnose Match. 50 yards, 5 shot groups, bench, sled, 3-5MPH wind at my back. Rifle Match did great, but w/ Flatnose Match I shot my first ever “one hole” group. It was just one small oblong hole. I used the Range Buddy app and remeasured it multiple times (difficult to do because with everything in one hole it's hard to know exactly where all the centers were), but it came out to 0.12” (.23MOA.) I’m blown away. My other groups w/ Flatnose Match were decent too at 0.26”, 0.38”, and an "unfortunate" 0.61”. I want to get the Yodave spring in there and get a better front rest/bag setup and do more testing. I'm hooked. The gun is incredible, and that ammo is incredible. Can't wait to test more.

      You are not the first to sing the praises of the SK Flatnose. Of course that is one of the ammo I do not have. I'll see if I can get some. Excellent group sizes for sure, I know it feels good. I'll also have to check out the Range Buddy app, I am not aware of that. Please let me know what Front rest you get or are considering. Thanks for your comment your input is valued.

      @@AimSmallMissSmall_TV I've seen people post pics online where they measure photos of their groups with some app and it seemed very precise and spits out not just the Group Size (extreme spread) in both inches and MOA, but also: Group Area, Mean Radius, and how far off the Point of Impact was from the intended aim. Turns out it's called "Range Buddy" and it's free. I was looking for a way to send you a photo but I don't think TH-cam lets me. Anyway, it's easy to use after watching a 2 min TH-cam vid on it, but you need to use paper targets with a grid or something where you can show the app exactly how far 1 inch is in each photo (or some other known measurement: 1/2", 2", whatever.)
      My cheap sled I use to ammo test has too much play in it, so I'm thinking about going with a Bald Eagle that has windage adjustment and one of their front bags for it. Probably this model: www.grizzly.com/products/bald-eagle-rest-slingshot-aluminum/be1005

    It is the position of your targets. Did you ever notice that the targets on the right is all way the ones that are not up to par with the first two ? I always put two then two directly below and two below them and so on try this and see if you don't agree. Good shooting bro.

      I think I have heard that before maybe by you. I think you have a very valid point the way I shoot with a rear bag. I shoot the ARA target from top to bottom. Thanks for that information, I try to put that in to practice for a way and see how it work.

    Nice shooting and very interesting array of video. Question: how does the 457 AT-One compare to the 457 Varmint MTR, if you have shot both? And which would you recommend for serious competitive precision shooting?

    • @AimSmallMissSmall_TV
      @AimSmallMissSmall_TV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have shot both, for me I still prefer the longer barrels and I don’t think you can beat the AT1 stock for comfort and adjustability. The AT1 stock is also help for navigating the ARA target. With that said I did find the MTR stock to be pretty comfortable. I liked the wood too but I think the laminated stock of the AT1 maybe the better choice.

    Do you acclimate your barrel to the different loads before shooting for record?

    • @AimSmallMissSmall_TV
      @AimSmallMissSmall_TV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the most part no. In this case of testing the SK I did clean the barrel the night before. I shot about 10 rounds to be sure the scope is zero'd and then stated shooting the groups. Because the lubricant in the two rounds are the same. I did not worry about re-cleaing the barrel. When I test Elye I may do things differently because I know the Lubricant can be different between types of Eley ammo. Thanks for comment, Bret

    The same crap happens to me. I shoot 5 to 10 round groups to warm/foul the barrel on small shoot n see target with all rounds touching. Move to the ARA targets and shots are all over the place. Maddening!

      Yes, it is. I guess our job is to figure out why. At least that is what I am trying to workout when I can.

    I'm up in Canada so my prices are wacky but I've ordered a brick of sk long range and pistols match and flat nose match each costing $90 per 500. I hope my pro varmint likes one of them 🙏

      I have some SK Long Range, I was hoping to shot a video this weekend shooting it but the wind was crazy, I’ll have a video out shortly. I’ll test it at 50 and 100 and maybe 150 yards if I am feeling it shoots well.

      @@AimSmallMissSmall_TV I'm looking forward to the pro varmint! One of your videos inspired me to get one! It was between that and the at-one and I just felt like the black boyd stock version was the way to go for me. I'm gonna add some sponge paint in flecked gold and copper like the more expensive stock, here's hoping she looks as good as it shoots

      Actually I did not for some reason, I'll have to do that. If you have not seen the video of the 15 different ammo I did test, please see the link.

    I'm not a big fan of CZ accuracy, or lack of. The only CZ that is accurate in my opinion is the MTR
