    God, why didn’t it have campaign characters you could play, ie: the specialist, but in campaign, and leave the run of the mill soldier in multiplayer, ie; have it like what bf5/1 does, with its war torn stories. HELL, could have it so that it has people on both sides of the political spectrum.
    Or even 3 sides. One for America, Russia, and the Nopats themselves.
    And lastly, let that scavenger mode from BF3 come back, for a whole new mode for 2042, where you scavenge things, to replace that extract mode.
    And, lastly, it could be like The Division 1/2, but first person.
    You scavenge things to come back alive.
    It could be like Warzone from Cod 2019/2022, where you can pick up different equipment, yk?
    Lastly, let us customize our characters in our own way.
    Tl;dr: Specialists in campaign, in the form of war stories from BF1/5, and run of the mill soldiers for the multiplayer/scavenger mode aspect.

    We need a good Battlefield that isn't another theme park crossover quagmire man, please just give is a good Battlefield without hero classes or other self-insert nagging the industry has been completely overtaken by.
    Battlefield 2042 was designed to sell Battlefield to an audience who loves the above, but fell short of it, because the competition in that environment = free games. And to obtain this monumental failure, they threw their loyal fans and players off the boat. Idiots.

    I agree with 99%, but Dice isn't the same anymore. They should let the IP battlefield die fr fr. There is just too much wrong withe everything within the devs, executives and leaders. Reason the original dice devs let was because, they were too stricted and not alloow to be cooking a good bf game. evntually after bf1 they all started leaving.

But in 2015-2016, my dad bought for me and my brother an xbox one and we buyed Battlefield 4 and then after that we buyed xbox live gold. Man, i remember it was my happiest day of my life. There's a reason why I play Squad. Squad is like Battlefield, but in a different dimension where BF didn't go arcadey and instead went heavier on teamwork, coordination, authenticity. The BF franchise is dead. And with the news that EA is now deciding to shut down the online servers of BF3 and BF4, it makes it even more clear that that's the case. At this point, even if they miraculously made a good BF game, there's still the thought in the back of your mind that it will get shut down eventually. If EA is essentially telling us that we no longer own their games, but rather renting them for a finite amount of time, then I'm out completely.
    I'll stick to indie devs and AA studios that actually have passion for their games and do a way better job at capturing the magic of games I once loved.

    • @Shaggii_
      @Shaggii_ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Squad runs like shit tho. Optimization is terrible and because of that it would never be able to handle destruction. I wish it ran better and had destruction but we’ll probably never see that in the game.

    • @lilfuzzballa
      @lilfuzzballa 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Shaggii_ yeah for some people it does. But If you have a mid level PC you might have issues. But I have everything set to high at 1440p and get 70-90fps so I have no issues. But doesn't mean they could use some optimization.
      But as for destruction no. Sure, it's sounds cool and makes the game feel more immersive, but it would break the balance of the game. if there was destruction, the meta would just be all vic teams sitting from afar and just shelling the buildings, commander calling in arty, and mortar teams raining down fire. The defense team would just all be dead, and any lucky enough to survive have no cover and get picked off.
      At the end of the day, the attacking team can just cheese the defenders and make it easy for them to just walk right in. And not only that but then the map would just become boring and no longer interesting. So what, 3 minutes of one sided fun for the attacking team to go crazy and blow stuff up, all for the next 10 minutes of capping the point to be a boring, flattened wasteland with no ability for the defending team to hold it? Squad needs the indestructible buildings.

    BF2042 was such a wasted opportunity. The mercenary setting could have been great. If they would have taken the money system from Black Ops 1, slowed down the movement system from BFV and made it feel a little heavier and clunkier, kept the fortifications and call in system from BFV and made the weapons and vehicles feel more ragtag and thrown together instead of fresh and shiny, it would have been amazing. You earn money in game for call ins, then you earn a portion of that from winning, contracts, or level ups for cosmetics, weapons, attachments, or vehicles. BFV's movement felt great but slow it down to make it feel like youre a soldier wearing heavy ass armor and carrying around heavy ass weapons.

    Bad Company 2 was arguably one of the "slowest" BF games, but it was the perfect balance between fast-paced gameplay and teamwork, while BF3 felt like CoD if it was any good, BC2 felt like war, it was immersive, when movement is limited, it's teamwork that wins the battle, the destruction was way better too. On BF3 is where it started the bunny-hopping super soldiers, some buildings could never be destroyed or brought down to the ground completely, BC2 was more dynamic and far more immersive

    Until you realize your friend can't lay down cover because they have no cover in the first place.
    Tactical sprint shouldn't have been like Call of Duty's. COD has always been fast paced sprint around on small maps, Battlefield was always about the big maps, Tac Sprint should've been a trade off in my opinion, lets you run faster, but your weapon is out of your hands, meaning you have to stop, pull back out your rifle before you can shoot, because I don't know about others, but when I sprint, I can't just stop, I usually need to slow down first.

    Let's hope for the best to get a new Battlefield like good series or DICE getting a good BF together, but I kinda lost that hope.

    Over the years the BF games were a staple for me, my favourite and easily most played was 2142 Titan mode, followed by BF2, BF Vietnam, BC2, and BF3, while I enjoyed BF4 its launch was bad and it took a while for Dice to iron out the bugs and flaws but it did get there but by then I was done, some of it me with burnout and some of it the state of the game and not having faith in EA Dice to really deliver what I wanted for a Battlefield game.
    I enjoyed MW for what it was, it's a great run and gun shooter but I always preferred the team dynamics and scale of Battlefield, while I never played BF1 it looked good and so did BF V for the most even with it's hilarious DEi slant but even watching gameplay from other content creators it just started to look like the gameplay was CoD in serious underpants. I remember it being quite common in a lobby in earlier BF titles that a player could top the team score with a negative K/D simply because they focused on the objective and not their personal frag count, that was the beauty of BF for me you had to be a team and play for each other and the objective. With the removal of classes in BF 2042 they have basically admitted they want to be like CoD but bigger and more bombastic and it's a change for the worst, I think BF as I knew it and want it to be is dead and never coming back.

    Very good video on a topic that plagues the gaming industry. I think a big problem is not just the players that are tryharding, its the mechanincs that enable this type of gameplay in every modern fps game, as higher ttks promote less tactical play and more movement. I belive this was caused by the popularity of esports, making all developers afraid of taking risks and making the game as slow and competitive as possible. Another problem as you mentioned are the skins, being part of the cod community i have seen players wanting more grounded skins being bullied by the big content creators.
    I would recommend you trying cod hardcore, tarkov, project reality or squad being a more realistic battlefield game.

    I used to absolutely LOVE these games. Menus were simple, gameplay was smooth, characters didn’t look like cartoons, no additional expansion packs, campaign blended in with the multiplayer etc.
    Then came the era of the jet pack based, quick movements, neon characters, ultra futuristic, robots etc nonsense, menus which look like ads etc in COD.
    Then I dropped the franchise and moved to Battlefield.

    I think BF7 wont be anywhere near like BF3 and BF4 and itll take a whole EA shakedown for Battfield to be king again.

  • @Disposalist
    @Disposalist 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Battlefield was the best because it evolved to be a perfect compromise of chaotic fun and tactical play. Although a lot didn't play it in a very co-op, objectives, team-based way, a lot did and that emphasis made it much better than CoD, etc. Along with good vehicle play, ithe core experience was simply much more complex, interesting and thoughtful than other shooters.
    I've played every BF and loved them all, with each being an improvement overall until BF5, when EA decided to prioritise monetisation and try and cash in on the Battle Royale fad.
    Then, although they advertised BF2042 using nostalgic imagery, they moved even further away from the core Battlefield experience, making it both Battle Royale _and_ Hero Shooter based.
    EA just don't know or care what they are doing with the franchise. They have no interest in what the BF fanbase enjoy. They are more interested in trying to get a new, modern audience even at the expense of the large old audience.
    I'm still playing BF1. Best BF (though I appreciate those that want modern warfare prefer BF4).
    BF1 is the perfect compromise of accessibility for noobs and fun for experienced players. The skill gap wasn't large, but wasn't small. Skilled twitch players do well. More thoughtful tactical players do well. Lone wolves can do well, if skilled, but squad/team play has a clear advantage. Noobs don't get too badly pounded. The fun chaos and the skill sweat is balanced.
    I have no hope for the franchise. Everything that EA have said about BF6 so far is even further again unlike the classic Battlefield experience.

    I always find it funny when someone says "MW 2019 went back to what COD used to be" because as someone who's played COD quite a lot throughout my life and for many years, and as someone who goes back to play old COD Games all the time... MW 2019 is nothing like old COD. MW 2019 is what you remember old COD to be, not what it actually is. I also don't like this take because MW 2019 was clearly designed with the lowest skill player in mind and that makes the game far less fun and enjoyable than it could've been. These things also go for MWII ofc as well. Also, a big reason people are such tryhards now is because nowadays every game is infested with this SBMM or EOMM system, forcing everyone to play with others of the exact same skill level, making people want to tryhard to fight that horrid system. It's unfortunate, but it's an issue that's been plaguing MP Games for quite awhile now.
    I agree with most of your points though, at least for BF. I don't feel COD has really ever been immersive, so i'm fine with movement being in that game, but other than a basic slide, I don't think movement really fits into the Battlefield style, vibe and game balance. BF was made to be a semi-realistic casual shooter, but COD was never really like that, it just didn't have movement, but it still had unrealistic stuff like perks, weapon camos, attachments that didn't change the look of your weapon, etc. where Battlefield went the extra mile to make the game feel more realistic and less casual and more immersive in it's design.

      @@DeadSpacedOut Absolutely agree, for me it felt like my memory of the old games but brought up to modern standards. @@TheGuyWithNoGamertag If attachments were mostly just eye candy then it's just an addition to the game and not a detractor in any way.
      In warzone for example, I'll pick a foregrip that closely resembles the one I have on my real life rifle. The variety on offer is great. BUT, I know that I am probably negatively affecting my weapon stats, and I can't be bothered to take the sweaty approach to weapon customization because 1, The gun almost always looks stupid. 2, I'm an adult with little time to play, so I'm not going to spend time min-maxing my build and 3, no matter how I set my class up, the rest of the game is ruined by everything else you mentioned in this fantastic video.
      Weapon customization is one aspect I love in an fps game. That gets ruined when there is also a min-max meta or a limit on attachments because of having to balance everything.
      Devs should give players variety while keeping everything theme concurrent. Same with weapon skins and character skins.
      You wouldn't want to see someone in BF1 running around with a Tommy gun equipped with a laser, LPVO, and telescopic stocks, while dressed like Santa Claus or the easter bunny.
      I don't want to see a modern themed BF with no or very little attachments because that isn't representative of modern weapons. Still don't want to see tacticool Santa Claus here either.
