Love that you guys are transitioning from the boat to a farm, like the boat there will always be things to do. Instead of a hole in the ocean. You now have a hole in the ground. We also do both, so I completely understand.
Best purchase for the kids ever. !! Great for the family, grew up w/ horses lived in the city. Humbling experience and taught u about life. Great decision.
Congratulations! Great property in a great spot. Your family will thrive there. I believe you’ll love it there. And if you can operate a boat, the farm will be child’s play. GH
Congratulations on this new adventure. Looking forward to it. I give you credit, I could t do it. While I have never lived on a boat, I grew up on the coast. I cant survive being land locked. Leo has gotten so big in such a short time. Let the adventure begin!
YOU KIDS ARE SO BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!! God has given y'all an AWESME place to raise your family... PLEASE KEEP SHARING YOUR VIDEOS. I/m so happy for y'all.... Much love.. BBE..
I hope you enjoy the farm and if you ever need unskilled labor let me know I am near Knoxville and work cheap. All I can say is that you let nothing stop you all from living the dream and thank you so much for sharing the events. Be safe and happy and enjoy!!!
Not a ridiculous decision. I bet it’s the best one ever! 😊. Can’t wait to see your new farm tractor to mow everything. Congratulations, very happy for you all. Great work 👍🏻. Life is what happens while you’re waiting to do other things.
I grew up in the country as a kid. My first thought was "wow I bet the kids are going to love the space" and that was the first thing Penn said! Beautiful looking place. It's going to be very different than being on a boat! I think you will have fun figuring it all out. The easiest animals to start with are probably chickens. The best part about that is that you will get tons of eggs. Can't wait to follow along! Good luck!
AWESOME.... Love, your free spirit. Soooo, Landlubbers now, eh ! Looking forward to seeing more of this new adventure. Congratulations on the new book end. Now the kids will be in a school, and make lots of new friends. Looks like everyone is going to have to adjust to new lifestyles. Happy for all of you.
That place looks great!!! Sounds much like the 30 acre farm that I happened upon and absolutely loved it. Had horses, ducks, chickens, and the 8 acre lake in the middle. I really hated to sell it, but there was a change of direction for our lives. That was 2006. We are now boat owners for the last 2 yrs.
congrats on the new purchase. now for the fun to really begin fixing and upgrading along with animals and vets fees. lol research before you buy horses can be very costly to upkeep . but this doesn't mean you can start a team heh heh. i think brooke would agree 4 kids is more than a handful plus farm chores to boot haha. but a great place to raise kids in todays world. i wish you all the best and hope to follow you on your new adventures.
Congratulations, hope all went well if the storm hit the area. After friends bought land in Texas and built a home the acreage is kept for growing hay which the neighbor maintains and bails for his cattle in that way they still have the benefit of agricultural land which is a cost savings and free maintenance.
Congratulations guys, In New Zealand we call this a lifestyle block its what we buy when we retire to keep us occupied we class 500 acres a small farm that nowdays you could barely make a living off
Looks like an awesome house and property. With four kids, including a baby, I can see why it's time to come ashore and let everyone spread out into a big house. From the songs picked for this video I would guess the house is in Tennessee?
Cute little hobby farm. Have fun, just remember IF you get animals its 24/7 work. I suggest you go with John Deer vs Kubota - gotta have a tractor and an old pickup!
Look at From Suits to Boots to learn more about the Alpacas. Jami and Lester have a wealth of knowledge and just like y'all are a fun/loving wholesome family.🙂
Love this guys. You all seem incredibly fortunate to have each other. Welcome to east coast life. I believe it will suit your family quite well. Endless opportunities for kids to grow in do many ways. This is quite awesome, ... but im also excited to see what your next boat will be, if that passion survives the wonderful things this farm offers.
You can rent out the pastures with a smaller stall barn for people with horses that have no where to keep them. It will keep your grass down and fertilize the pastors. Make a list of things todo from smallest to largest Check them off one at a time. Congratulations. The place looks great. The head looks like Woody from Toy Story.
The kids (around Rooney and Penn’s ages) and I have thoroughly enjoyed following your nautical adventure over the years, and they’re really bummed it has come to a close (for now)! It’s a shame Mermaid Monster never made it over to the left coast, there’s amazing journeys to be had here in the Pacific Northwest up to Alaska. If you guys decide to dip your toes in the water again, consider the Pacific side!
'Looks like I won't have another chance to scream "Hi!" to you from my BW while your lounging on the beach on Balboa. On to yet another adventure. Brooke and Braden, you two are "crazy amazing"! Shorter commute to the boat too!
@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTEROh good! 'Hope to cross paths again. I hope hurricane Helene did not cause any problems for you. Take your time and build your new "nest". Your children look excited. Roo' is a natural equestrian. You have the perfect Family to run a farm!
Although books and movies and such tease us with the possibilities of wizardry I am usually skeptical; Your Family has made me more of a believer as each video magically portrays wild emotions with the foreshadowing of wonderful futures. ❤️
Interesting..... Cheers. I have sixty years of boating and farming in me. What state are you in. Will chime in with advice when I can..... First off the little barns in the pastures are loafing sheds to keep horses out of weather and heat. If you live in the country you are going to have mice..... when you have mice you have snakes. get or make yourself a snare to be able to easily relocate them when needed.
I see a ztr mower (zero turning radius) in your future. I also see a compact farm tractor with a front loader, finish mower, brush hog (for when the mowing gets away from you) and a three point roto tiller for a large garden. ENJOY your Gentleman's Farm aka mini farm.
If you get a big enough ZTR you can skip the finish mower. You will need a trimmer to get around all the buildings/fences or a sprayer to kill the weeds. A cart or small trailer is useful to move things around as you do projects. ATVs are useful to pull the trailer and are timesavers if you have to have to go to the far corners of your property and find out you need one more tool.
@@ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER Braden give him a call before he walks in the tractor supply and buy stuff he does not need and stuff he might need that would be my recommendation since he grew up on a farm and lives in Tennessee and probably knows exactly where you are and what the ground looks like and the elevation planes things like that and who knows he might be your go to guy hunt stuff now he works in heavy equipment and he’s on the job right now, but his information might be valuable to you or invaluable. Sorry,Braeden cause I was saying, Kim can help you out with a lot of stuff you’ll need and a lot of stuff you won’t need. It depends on if you’re doing a miniature for the kids or one for profit and for the kids and for you as a family growing together and learning new things Kim is in valuable for this kind of thing and since he’s retired and he does his other stuff just cause he likes doing it, he’d be the guy to go to Guy or Equipment or what you need to have for your eight pastures your paddock on top with the showing arena where your house stands and things like that. Farm life is more laid back unless you have crops to bring in.. then can get stressful but yeah love farm life when i was a kid a lot of work but best times when i was a kid was on the farm
Wow, What a beautiful property!! Y'all will do great... FYI if Alpacas/Goats are in your future just know that their feces have different parasites... Always best to keep them in their own pastures due to one or the other being introduced to the varieties of parasites that can be deadly. Ima surviver sanctuary just recently learned about this with their Alpacas. Almost certain that y'all have or do watch farming video's on youtube, Y'all can get allot of information from the various channels. What makes sense to you retain and throw away the rest is the way I think. I do know especially in the horse world everybody knows it all kind of a thing. To save the confusion I just retain what makes sense to me. But the parasite thing is very real.... Good luck on your farming adventures, Y'all will rock it! Stay positive and stay blessed.🙂
Make sure you lock up a copy of this video for posterity. The way you guys operate you will make this venture a success, but it will be really good to look back on. Now get to work and get some goats to cut the grass.
I started watching your videos because I love the boating lifestyle. Now I see you transitioninf to a family channel that I will watch also. So much to do. I'd suggest you get an animal or two because you have the facilities for that and it would be a great family endeavour. Something that would work immediately might be laying hens. Learn about them and get a source of fresh eggs. Did I say one or two, naw, maybe like four hens. Once comfortable with egg production could a cow or two be in your future? Those kids all need their milk.
One of the most poignant memories I have of your videos so far is when Brooke had to sell her horse. I'm glad you're moving to a farm where hopefully you'll get another one.
Glad to check back with you. I think you'll be much happier here. Much better for the kids. So glad you got off that boat. New chapter.
