*TRUE STORY* ---- One evening I played this song while sleeping, and it actually played in my dream the whole time while I was exploring magical places. I woke up mesmerized. Ever since, I try to play some chill music while sleeping, and the effect is always magical (flying solo in space with some background music visiting earth-like planets, exploring a mysterious jungle, exploring underwater worlds in scuba, etc.)!
I was a single mom living in Israel in the 80's, early 90's - they were tough times for me (funny I look back and wish I could go back to those days) I cannot tell you how many times I played my Kate Bush cassette on my little cheap cassette player and all my problems vanished away. Love her music so much.

She's been a genius since she began her career in 1978... She did only two live gigs, in 1979 and in 2014 (I was lucky enough to be present in this one) and both were a HUGE success! All her albums were well-rated by music critics. She is not for the people who like ordinary music... Her music is brilliant, superb, ethereal...

Sadie Sink's performance in the Vecna scene was outstanding, moving and powerful. To me, it's by far the best scene of the entire show.

How long ago.......it feels like yesterday, but was actually four years before the motorcycle accident that changed the course of my life! Daughter 2 was one!!!
I was in college in 1981 and noticed this funny little song at the end of a Pat Benatar album called Wuthering Heights.... I thought "dang that's a very clever song" and looked to see if Benatar wrote it - it said "K. Bush" as the writer. Who the eff is that? A British girl told me that it was Kate Bush (decades before the Internet so it's not like I could google that person). A trip to Tower Records in Hollywood and sure enough in the import section was Never For Ever, which cost about a gazillion dollars but I bought it anyway. Never played the Pat Benatar album again. Became a big fan, but it was extremely hard to find anything about her in the US as she was not a thing here, and the rare UK import music mag like NME didn't say much about her by that time as she was more of a 1978 phenomenon. Had to find actual UK currency to mail to her fan club to join, which was pretty cool. I think in 1982 there was a small fan club get together in San Francisco so I flew up for the day to attend and that was the first time I saw her on a video, which was another amazing experience. Cost me over $300 to get a copy of the video converted into NTSC so I could watch it at home. Back in the Neolithic Era, the struggle was real.

I really like this song, and I love her voice, but I am 99% sure this version is just lip synced. It was a huge problem with music videos in the 80s. The official version should be the live version with David Gilmour that she actually sings live.
In America, this performance actually was considered the de-facto music video. Apparently, MTV here didn’t like that Bush didn’t actually mouth her lyrics on the proper music video, so her record label EMI’s American branch submitted this in its place.
She’s not singing this live, it sounds identical to the radio version. She does sound a bit different live, and the band don’t replicate parts of the song when it’s live.
I'd always loved this song and to hear of it being rediscovered through a drama on netflix makes me smile. I hope new listener's are enjoying it's beauty.

This is why I’ve been a Kate Bush fan since the 70’s. She’s not just any talent, keep in mind she caught the attention of David Gilmour at a young age and despite her writing abilities she has a voice that would blow the pants off any music contestant out there.
Every generation will rediscover this song for themselves and it will remain amazing.
