Your hair is definitely a look! It reminds me of the microbraids I used to wear with loose ends. I look forward to seeing your progress. You have such a beautiful head of hair in any state.
My story is similar to yours! I started with 315 palm rolled locs. That number decreased to 260 over the course of a year. Two years into my loc journey I decided to comb them out and start over. Wasn’t happy with some inconsistencies. I went for sisterlocs and ended up with 343 locs. Still wasn’t happy. I combed out most of it and installed braidlocs myself. Now I have over 510 locs. I AM SUPER HAPPY! Finally have the locs I envisioned from the beginning. 💖💖💖
You are going to have a lot less bunching because of the relaxed ends. Your hair is heavy and it will help keep it stretched. Just make sure you keep the relaxed hair detangled because relaxed hair can loc. You did a great job. You should be very proud. And I really like the relaxed ends. You just might start a trend.
Girl, you are good. Starting and maintaining locs this small looks like it will be indeed a task. As you've said "you've got your mind right" regarding re-tightening. All the best. Enjoy the journey.
I'm SO happy to see you uploading again! I had contemplated locs for a long long time and between your and Desiree Marie's videos I decided to just go for it. Here I am, a year and a half later, my locs are flourishing and in my 30 years of life I have never been more accepting and loving of my hair. Thank you for your contributions to the loc community!
Kristina S that’s so awesome to hear! I feel the exact same way, I have never felt more like myself (aesthetically) or felt as comfortable with my appearance as I do now. Early congrats on getting to the two year mark!
I’m so happy you restarted your loc journey! You were one of the many reasons I started my own loc journey and I was a little bummed when you stopped making videos. I’m on my first week with locs 😊
I started my locs like this with 2 inches of locked hair and relaxed hair down to my shoulders. I loved it because the relaxed ends weighted the locs and I skipped the unruly stage. However some of my ends did end up breaking off over time.
something has been telling me to get locs again...this is a sign 😭! im surprised you didnt go for bigger locs this time considering i remember u talking abt the amount of work ur last locs were? excited for the vid!
I think you’re pretty amazing to have done all of this yourself, especially since you have 2 children to look after as well. Your parts looks amazing - wishing you a blessed journey this time round. I also have relaxed ends - I’m cutting this set of Sisterlocks off and starting again. I hope you’re able to keep your ends moisturised and looking healthy. I found that braid outs helped retain moisture and a consistent look.
I may have an idea for people starting locs to get the number you’re shooting for. There are women who do braid extensions by PRE PARTING their hair. Laying out a similar grid type system but (mathematically) figuring out how many braids go in each section. Then loosely twisting each part (firm at roots) for easy take down when it’s time to add the braid. I just added the hair over my twists. BUT I GOT THE EXACT NUMBER I WANTED. I have used this same technique to twist my own natural hair to wear as a style. I’ll try and link some vids.
I really like this suggestion. For my own parting I did do something sort of similar... I did approach it mathmatecially, with measured sections, and I estimated the shape and size of my head. I couldnt figure out how to get the measurements to be exact so I ended up over shooting bc I made the parts too small. I think there is real value in sectioning and doing loose twists that can easily be taken down. That is a really good idea.
I think time was on your side and helped you make the best decision! I’m happy for you! I saw TyKara’s video too I thought they were beautiful and innovative reminded me of you! The loc community is really a blessing. Happy locing! And yes your hair is a look!
Wow some of those shots made the starter locs look even smaller than sisterlocs!! Very meticulous. You really went for it, I hope they turn out just how you want them
You might want to consider braiding the relaxed hair all the way down. I had a friend who's daughter got Sister Locs while her hair was permed. She wanted to keep the length of her hair so the loctician started her locs by Sister Locking (interlocking) from the tips of her hair up to the scalp. Her locs turned out EXTREMELY well and within a short amount of time you could not tell the relaxed hair from the natural hair.
Glad to see you back. My locs are bunched, bunched, bunched too. They were installed by a sister loc consultant, but I did not think I wanted sister locs. I wanted about 125, ended up with 236. I am 3 years in and don’t like them at all. They are a decent length and I get compliments often. I did braid and band so.... as you said I have no control over the bunching and here we are. As I go along I’m thinking of cutting and starting over with a sister loc count of about 400. I hate to lose my length and hate the scalped chicken look of the first several months. I watched you and others TAKE DOWN locs, just don’t think I have the energy. Sighhhhhh
Looks so good! Please continue to share your journey with us ☺️ I started w relaxed ends like you with sister locs and I still have the ends almost two years later!
wow that's both very interesting and encouraging to know! I had seen it done on a couple of people here on TH-cam, but not too many. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Great!! Glad you’re doing something you like. I made so many mistakes with my microlocs that I wouldn’t do if I started over. Mistakes are an inextricable part of the learning process. Also love the look. I think it’ll look more like micro braids the longer it gets.
I don't know why I got so happy when this popped up on my feed lol.. Your hair looks sooo great! I'm currently in the process of combing out my first set of starter locs so I can do microlocs. I'm definitely going to try the method of braiding then twisting then braiding at the end. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Joyce! I'm planning on installing 600+ microlocs on myself and I wanted to know specifically how you knew what size to make each individual loc so that you'd get as many as 700 locs even though ur goal was about 500 for the crown..?
Legit found @tykara first..her mommy is beautiful and after hearing her unraveling I was like yea I'm braiding and twisting lol Can't wait to see your hair flourish my dear
Welcome back!!!!! I KNEW you would be locked up again and here we are! I was watching Queen Eleem's videos this morning and something told me to search for you. Love the name change also, BTW. Good luck with this set. You did a great job! I LOVED your first set. You are gorgeous.
Locs are beautiful! Mine are small, I could not do sisterlocks but they are so beautiful! I just started a new channel hoping to do more videos about my locs soon. I could use the support. ❤️
I started my locs with braids and the braid patterns disappeared within 4 maybe 5 months max... the time frame of the patterns disappearing might depend on the texture of your hair and how tight the braids are done
Thanks for the shoutout! You have the same amount of locs as I did when I started. Your hair is beautiful and I’m excited for your new journey! Also, it’s Shu-Venus. Pronounced just like the planet. Haha. ❤️
Do you think your locs will loc slower bc you have permed ends?? I know a friend of mine who has permed ends with her locs and her progression has been slow
Love it! Relaxed ends uummm...own it! Spritz with distilled water or Rosewater to encourage locking Lovely! You did an excellent job! You look so much more at ease and happy! I am beginning My #microbraids #microlocs #diylocs #grayafro #graysisterlocks journey on My channel for #lowdensity #finehairloc
YOURE A STAY AT HOME MOM? girl, I thought you were FRESH outta high school, still living at home. A smooth 18.5. I didn't even think you could legally drink. Omg.
I really do like your old loc version. This one, is really too small. I would think, this new way, is more work. I have never seen, this way. Girl, way too much work. You have patience. It looks great on you. Hope it works with your vision.
I Love the 2 Point Rotation. I like mine to be puffy. Especially with mine being Thick. I just started interlocking. It went pretty good. Here is my Video on it: th-cam.com/video/UqykxRU_I8I/w-d-xo.html Be Blessed.
This will be an interesting process because of the relaxed ends and the amount of locs.
Kristen Frisco yeah I haven’t really seen relaxed ends before✨
Same I wait till it grow
My niece got sisterlocks with relaxed ends. They eventually cut the ends off.
The amount of locs gives me anxiety. My patience decreases the older I get.
Your hair is definitely a look! It reminds me of the microbraids I used to wear with loose ends. I look forward to seeing your progress. You have such a beautiful head of hair in any state.

I loved your old set, but these are going to be 🔥 considering how full your hair is. Can’t wait to watch your new journey!
Call me T you don't post anymore videos 😔
I always loved the microbraids look with the loose ends. One of thee best hairstyles and you achieved it wit locs. Cool
Shoutout to you for timestamps!
You are going to have a lot less bunching because of the relaxed ends. Your hair is heavy and it will help keep it stretched. Just make sure you keep the relaxed hair detangled because relaxed hair can loc.

Joyce I’m so happy you decided to give it another go and I believe that you will get closer to your goal! Can’t wait to follow your journey!
Thank you!!
Most definitely !! Can't wait to see her locs blossom ! Locs look great on her !
I started my locs like this with 2 inches of locked hair and relaxed hair down to my shoulders. I loved it because the relaxed ends weighted the locs and I skipped the unruly stage. However some of my ends did end up breaking off over time.
Wow wow wow beautiful job! I'm so excited to follow this journey.
something has been telling me to get locs again...this is a sign 😭! im surprised you didnt go for bigger locs this time considering i remember u talking abt the amount of work ur last locs were? excited for the vid!
Looks fabulous. You are very knowledgeable and you know what you want which is good.
Wow Bindi, you did these locs yourself?! I'm really impressed. You have skilled hands and much patience. They look professionally done.
I cannot wait to see your hair at longer lengths because with those ends
your locs are going to look like goddess locs.
Her relaxed ends will most likely break off.
Lunar Dream If she treats it the traditional way and lets it dry out yeah but if she keeps it moisturized then probably not
I think you’re pretty amazing to have done all of this yourself, especially since you have 2 children to look after as well.

I've restarted my journey 17 months ago for the same reason. Good luck on your new journey! They look great

I have loc envy. Love your hair. Beautiful
Wow. I’m starting mine again and I said I wanted to do braids and twist in one. This is confirmation for me!

How did you make sure you got the amount of locs you wanted. I'm also thinking of doing my own micros, and I want 700+
Beautiful ❤
So do you have to comb the relaxed parts?
Yes, I brush my relaxed ends on wahs days.
YOURE A STAY AT HOME MOM? girl, I thought you were FRESH outta high school, still living at home. A smooth 18.5. I didn't even think you could legally drink. Omg.
Beautiful locs, but they will swell and bunch, because the ends are down. It's always in how they are started. You do have absolutely beautiful hair..
I really do like your old loc version.
This one, is really too small.
I would think, this new way, is more work.
I have never seen, this way.
Girl, way too much work.
You have patience.
It looks great on you.
Hope it works with your vision.
You did so well you should take clients
Girl, I think I might lol
Bindi J. Marc yes sis make that coint

I Love the 2 Point Rotation.
I like mine to be puffy.
Especially with mine being Thick.
I just started interlocking.
It went pretty good.
Here is my Video on it:
th-cam.com/video/UqykxRU_I8I/w-d-xo.html
Be Blessed.
Can you do mines
When I saw her video I thought of you, because I knew you didn't care for the weight of your last locs.
I forgot to add I love the look of this it reminds me of micro braids. Love it! Good luck and be patient before you combine your locs.
Ain’t. No. Way.
This looks like half done micro braids..
I’m so confused by the way her hair looks, no shade but bad and the fact that she’s calling them dreadlocks
