Yesterday, 3/4/2024, I went to my local hardware store and just so happened to buy the exact same model as you show in this video. Before installing the faucet, I thought I would see if there were any TH-cam videos out there that might show some helpful tips on installing one of these. Your video came up. The best tip was about the tool that you used to tighten down the plastic washers under the sink. I didn't have one of those and I didn't feel like driving back to the store to buy one. If they did have one. So, I found an old piece of plastic plumbing pipe that I had laying around that just so happened to be the right size I needed. I cut 4 notches in it with my rotary tool and basically made the same tool that you showed in the video and saved myself a trip back to the store. I never would have thought of doing that if I hadn't seen your video. Thank You for posting it.
Thank you so much for this video. I bought the same Delta Faucet at Home Depot back in June 2022 but didn't have the nerve to install it. Well, your video was my guardian angel and the only problem was uninstalling the old delta faucet. That took me over three hours. But installing the "new" faucet was not that hard following your instructions. It was quite quick. Thank you again!👍
I just bought a house and every time I have a project and look for help I find you've made a video on the subject. In this case we even have the same exact Delta faucet. Your channel has been so incredibly helpful I feel like I owe you at least a case of beer at this point!
You posted this video two years ago, but I just used it to swap out my kitchen sink faucet to the same model. I would have felt silly paying for the work to be done, seeing how easy the process is. Thanks so much!!! 😊
Bought a Delta Marca Faucet yesterday, it seemed easy enough to install, but I could not for the life of me get the nut off of the sink because it has rusted and metal was falling off. I got scared of tackling it myself until I saw your video . I got the WD-40 and sprayed and then sprayed again, not I'm on a roll. Just hope I can get the new nuts and wires tighten and aligned correctly. Plumber wanted to charge me $250. and the faucet itself cost near $200......... THANK YOU!
Even as someone who has done this work a little bit. I love the thoroughness and explaining everything in the depth the point recommending the homeowner know where the water shutoff valve is, etc. Superub!
Very very important the main shut off is a definite need to know. I ran into this years ago and had no idea where it was and ended up having to pay for a carpet replacement in the bathroom. I should have known better. Live and learn.
I've watched four different vids now to help me decide if I can install 2 delta faucets in my kitchen and yours is hands down the most thorough taking me from removal of old to install of the new. I have a pull down sprayer model but it should be super easy now that I have watched and listened here. Many thanks. Just noticed your UI tee...my Alma Mater! I-L-L...
Salutations kind sir, the plumber for my housing unit was unavailable and I decided to replace the kitchen faucet myself. The Installation guide on the new faucet was great but I didn't know how to correctly take out the old one. Thanks to this guide it made the removal and installation a breeze!
Thank you, your video describes the product better than the installation instructions do! (The design for the lower plastic plate above the sink surface seems to have changed since the instructions were printed.)
This video is excellent. I know now it is better to fix the faucet for now and wait until I need to replace both faucet and sprayer. I feel confident I can do and that it will be an all day project.
Thank you! First time doing this and I got through it with very little trouble. Like you said in the video, the hardest part was getting the old faucet and stuff out
Update* went to replace faucet and my supply valve broke. Never replaced one before. Something I couldn’t do. I tried. But no use. I couldn’t remove old one. I planned on calling a plumber this week to replace valve and just go ahead and replace faucet. Then I learned they have water valve repair kits. What?? Game changer! I bought the kit, fixed the valve then installed new faucet myself! Of course watching your video step by step because the instructions in the box were for somebody that already knew what they were doing and I’m no Mr. Fixit.
Thank you so much. Followed your tutorial, everything was on point. Only thing, mine was rusted from the water line valves to the all the nuts underneath the old faucet. But after I got the old faucet out, everything else was smooth sailing. Thank you again.
Attempting a faucet replacement tomorrow morning. Replacing the pull chain on my bedroom ceiling fan is as much home repair experience I have. Wish me luck!
Brilliant explanation. So calm and such clear description as you were working. Just subscribed. Your calmness and patience are inspiring. Going to check out what else you have in your library
Thank you for such a detailed video! My older brother and I (both in our 20's) have no "handy-man" experience and needed help with replacing our old kitchen faucet. Although it took a while we go it done. Thank you for giving us the confidence. Keep up the great content!
@Everyday Home Repairs - just installed the exact faucet you did. Was able to find a “re-certified” unit through Delta as I think they’ve been discontinued elsewhere. Anyway, thanks for the lesson; all went relatively smoothly!
Thank you so much for doing this video. Very helpful. I had a hard time following the instructions that came in the Delta 400 DST kitchen faucet box. After watching your video, I was able to install the faucet. This was the first time that I installed a faucet.
I like the walk through of every step , that way if you have a problem or question it is more or less answer. Note i know they make a speical swivel head wrench you probally only use it for take off the nuts to the faucet , but it worth it . I think they cost $15 to $25.
exactly that is very important. I watched a video the other day and it was outside and the wind was so strong I couldn't hear half what he was saying. Don't these people ever watch their videos to make sure they are any good before releasing?
I love your channel. Your very slow and thorough so thank you. Im getting ready to install one that has a pull down sprayer and it has a kind of ushaped piece with a metal gasket on top that goes around the lines to mount the base to the sink. Im not sure how this holds it down but I guess it does ha ha. Oh it has two screws that tighten from the bottom up. I am a little leary about the still water lines that comes with the faucet and looping them without pinching them. I wish they had the old type braided lines that are so flexible and so much easier to work with.
Thank you so much. very well explained. some one came to fix my kitchen sink faucet and sprayer. but the hot and cold water hoses didn't work for the new faucet and sprayer. he hasent come to finish the work since days ago. i think im going to do it my self.
Thank you, sir. This video is incredibly helpful. Your patience is commendable, as well. I fought with the removal for about an hour and a half. By the end, it was "whatever works to get the old out!" including cutting the supply lines that were too difficult to remove at the threads and cranking the old faucet with a pipe wrench. (I felt like a contortionist under the sink. The whole process would be a lot easier, but for this part of the job!) But my pile of junk was similar to yours, perhaps a bit more messy.
Thanks for your video and tips! It took me about two hours to loosen the old faucet mounting nut and the vinegar helped. I still had to go buy a faucet wrench which also helped 🥴.
Easy to hear, see and follow. Thanks for that ! Was surprised that you didn't use silicone. I just installed the exact faucet with the bright chrome finish. Let's hope we get a lot of years out it
great video! Thanks very much. I need to swap out an ancient faucet that is plumbed with those cruddy valves you mentioned, and they're threaded onto iron pipe. Ugh. I was surprised there wasn't a gasket for the sprayer base. Perhaps a little bead of silicone under that cover piece would be a good idea to prevent water from dripping through from the sink deck?
Hello- love the illini shirt- I am having trouble reinstaillng just the handle. Delta sent me a new handle with a button and scew but I can figure out how to get that back on ( previous handle removed to reolace the cartridge- plumber advised that new handle needed because screw had lost threading.
This was a very helpful video. Thanks for making it. I will be tackling the job of replacing our kitchen faucet later today or next weekend. I was surprised that there was no need for any plumber's tape. Isn't that a necessary step anymore? I used it when I replaced a showerhead a few months ago and wasn't sure if it helped or just made it harder.
Very thorough and understandable instructions! Awesome tutorial. Two suggestions: (1) I thought that after hand tightening the compression nut on the supply line, you're supposed to use a wrench to tighten another another quarter turn or so. Obviously, your lines didn't leak. So hand tightening sufficient for your install. (2) Personally, I wouldn't feel safe/comfortable using a recip saw to cut out a frozen nut at the top. A dremel tool with a small cutting wheel may be easier and safer in the tight space directly underneath the faucet. One question...why do you prefer the Rigid multi-tool over the more standard basin wrench? I've never seen that Rigid tool, but it looks very cool. Thanks for a great video!
Basin wrench is needed for older stuck and/or corroded nuts, but doesn't really work as well for large modern plastic nuts with wings. These faucet tools are pretty useful if doing multiple faucets. They don't really replace a basin wrench completely, and aren't essential but are more convenient for the situations they can be used
This was a great video. Can you give us some tips or what materials you use to clean the sink when you remove the old faucet before installing the new one?
Great video but wondering if I missed ... did you use plumber Putty for the sprayer? I recently put it in a RO system and was going to put it where the sprayer is and all the plumber putty must have been old as our house is only 8 years old. So needed a video to make sure I put Humpty Dumpty back together again correctly LOL. Thank you!
@Everyday Home Repairs Thanks for the tutorial! Only one thing though, I actually had to remove the entire sink to get to the damn nuts for the hot cold lever & faucet. & I think I got the same faucet, some Foundations model of Delta, stainless steel. Works great!
Scott, I followed this for a successful installation last month. Much better than the enclosed instructions or Delta’s website! Yesterday there was a serious leak. I took everything out and crawled under the sink. It’s running from up in the faucet area where all of the supply lines were pre-connected. I’m at a loss. Will I need to get another unit?
Hey Peggy, If this were me I would probably look for a video on removing the cartridge valve to see if a rubber o-rings had damage or check if there was a crank in the housing which both can lead to leaks in the area. With that said this can take you down a rabbit hole of troubleshooting. The best course of action for you to get back up and running would probably be to do the same install for a 2nd time. I am fairly confident either the big box store, Amazon, or Delta will help swap the old faucet out for a new one considering the failure happened within a few months and should be covered under the limited warranty. Feel free to also jump over to our Facebook group “Everyday Home Repairs Community” where you could post pics / videos of your specific issue and we could help work through the fix.
Good instructions. Old faucet was attached with plastic or nylon screws. I can't get the one near the hot water side undone. Taking a break. Thanks for giving calming encouragement, I need it.
@@marynellcash6753 😂 yeah removing old faucets can be super frustrating. I have gotten worked up in the past but that pretty much just always leads to more damage and work.
Thats the same faucet i just bought only it has the sprayer on it too.. im just trying to figure out how to take the old one off . thats the tricky part getting up under there to get those screws off that hold it on ..
Good video, but with that said, when I went underneath my sink, it is a mess of pipes. I don't see a shut off for hot and a shut off for cold but one shut off that goes towards the sink and another one that looks like it goes to the dishwasher. Any thoughts on that?
The one to the dishwasher would be hot. Is there a TEE after the valve so that closing it would turn off water to both the faucet and the DW? Sometimes those valves have two outlets.
Hey there, Recently, I installed the same faucet, But I can see a few drops leaking(upon use) from the Hot side (left) under the sink tank where you tighten the plastic mounting nut. What could be the reason ? - Is it dripping from the inside of the assembly ? I can't figure it out... Any suggestions will help me. Thank you.
Does it matter which way up the gasket goes? I have the front at the front but I'm not sure which way goes up. I can still read front the way I installed it
The Delta Faucet I obtained had black rubber as shown in this video however the instruction guide and pieces that came with it stated to remove the rubber and install the plastic that came with the Delta Faucet. The problem I could not get the plastic one to screw on and utilized the rubber as shown in this video as of right now no leaks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Awesome video, thank you! I just bought an inexpensive Delta kitchen faucet on Amazon. Is it normal for the copper lines directly below the deck mount (like the ones at 8:25 in your video) to be loose? One of them wiggles, the other spins 🤔.
Great video, but I buy Moen. They have lifetime warranties & stand by it. I’ve had 2 issues with my faucet. I emailed them & they responded for a model # and a picture of the faucet. Sent it & the next day the replacement part is shipped free of charge. Faucet is 14 years old.
I have to replace my kitchen faucet. It has older lft and rt handles and center faucet, no sprayer. All the videos I've seen replaces old water lines. My brand new faucet didn't come with lines. Do I have to replace them too.
Hey Larry, yeah the trim, handle direction, and reach/extension of the spout into the sink can vary a bit but the mounting hole placement is a standard size for kitchen faucets. If you are doing a bathroom vanity sink be a little more careful since there are 4 inch and 8 inch spacing for the mounting holes. Best of luck with your project. 👍
Make sure the line is coming into the shutoff valve straight (if you don't you might things are tight but they aren't) then tighten down holding on to the shutoff valve with another set of channel locks or wrench. You will want to apply a reasonable amount of torque but nothing crazy.
I recently had a Delta 2 handle kitchen faucet with sprayer installed and when I turn the faucet on there is a Klunk noise, Delta's instruction say to remove the diverter and run the water, but I can not remove the diverter, I told them this and they are sending me a new diverter and sprayer, I am not sure how I will install this as I can not remove the existing diverter, can you help with instructions for that?
Hi Elyse, I think this video th-cam.com/video/XORzLC_c1oA/w-d-xo.html might demonstrate how to remove the diverter valve on the Delta 2 handle kitchen faucet. The only issue I saw is he made a custom tool which helped with the removal. Is Delta going to send a tool which helps remove the diverter valve?
@@EverydayHomeRepairs Delta did NOT send me a tool, and I broke the diverter when attempting to remove it. Luckily I purchased the faucet from Amazon and was able to return it for a refund. Delta was not at all helpful, I will never buy anything from their brand again.
Scott something strange happened after I connected the same Delta faucet model to my kitchen sink. I connected it and it was working fine. I used the sprayer once and shut off the water after and when I returned later and turned on the water the water pressure was flowing with half the force it was before. Any idea what it could be? I live in a mid-rise condo and the hot/cold and main shut off valve are under the sink. Could it be that the sprayer isn't seated properly?
The water pressure from the faucet is reduced to less than half flow but the water from the sprayer is at full force. The water pressure is reversed. I think the diverter is malfunctioning.
@@odyssey200as Juan stated it might be a bad diverter valve. I am seeing if he replies and was able to swap out the valve to see if it fixed his problem.
It was informative but for some reason you tube during Comercials too me to thete videos and would shut yoirs down i reloaded video 3 times it kept happening thanks for video
@@EverydayHomeRepairs I changed the faucet today. Without this Rigid Sink and faucet tool, it took me 30 minutes to removed the old one. The old one was rusted!!! That tool is for the next time if I needed. Thanks.

That looks a lot better .. thanks for sharing ~
Happy to help Joe 👍
Thats the same faucet i just bought only it has the sprayer on it too.. im just trying to figure out how to take the old one off . thats the tricky part getting up under there to get those screws off that hold it on ..
@@joedevitto6113 such an incredible pain even if you have the plastic “wrench tool”!! WD40 is your friend
@@kevinchasm4430 Mine was bolted on an odd way had to use a socket that would fit up and onto the bolt , took a few days but i did it ~
Good video, but with that said, when I went underneath my sink, it is a mess of pipes.
Hey there,
Recently, I installed the same faucet, But I can see a few drops leaking(upon use) from the Hot side (left) under the sink tank where you tighten the plastic mounting nut.
Thanks for the help buddy
No problem Miguel
Great video . . . many thanks!
The garbage disposal is hanging in the way under sink. There aren’t screws: can you advise how to flip it off?
Remove aerator before running water for first time. Then reinstall it.
assuming the main will shut off...
Hot Water is always on the Left My Man !
I have to replace my kitchen faucet. It has older lft and rt handles and center faucet, no sprayer. All the videos I've seen replaces old water lines. My brand new faucet didn't come with lines. Do I have to replace them too.
Can I install that on top of my quartz countertop without taking out the base plate? If yes, do I need a silicone underneath of the base plate?
thank you!!!!
You're welcome!
You didn't put any silicone under the sprayer mount so therefore you will have tons of water getting under the sink.
Do you need to put a sealer around the base of the handle or is the screen down air tight enough?
whats the name of the pvc coupling used when p trap coes. ot line up with the drain hole exactly
I installed new delta single lever faucet foundation model .it jumps when turning on other than that works good, how ca. I stop the bucking
Nice tutorial. Question: re the faucet plates/base usually the same size? Don’t need to worry about measuring?
Hey Larry, yeah the trim, handle direction, and reach/extension of the spout into the sink can vary a bit but the mounting hole placement is a standard size for kitchen faucets. If you are doing a bathroom vanity sink be a little more careful since there are 4 inch and 8 inch spacing for the mounting holes. Best of luck with your project. 👍
I have copper water supply should I replace
Had to cut the main heavily rusted nut with metal cutting rotary tool.
Nice!
How tight does the supply lines to the shut off valve need to be?
Make sure the line is coming into the shutoff valve straight (if you don't you might things are tight but they aren't) then tighten down holding on to the shutoff valve with another set of channel locks or wrench. You will want to apply a reasonable amount of torque but nothing crazy.
@@EverydayHomeRepairs thank you!
just a good rule of thumb, 99% of the time the hot shut off is on the left and the cold is on the right. that's the standard setup in north America :)
delta classic faucets are the best
💯 Delta is the only faucet I use these days.
Should remove the aerator to flush out any sentiment before normal use.
Hey Juan, and that was the water pressure coming from the main faucet or the sprayer was about half the pressure?
The water pressure from the faucet is reduced to less than half flow but the water from the sprayer is at full force. The water pressure is reversed. I think the diverter is malfunctioning.
Same happened with me. Only U don't have any water coming out of faucet. Now only the sprayer works. Any idea how to fix it?
@@juanrosa683 Yeah the diverter would be my guess. Were you able to get a new diverter valve and try it out?
@@odyssey200as Juan stated it might be a bad diverter valve. I am seeing if he replies and was able to swap out the valve to see if it fixed his problem.
It was informative but for some reason you tube during Comercials too me to thete videos and would shut yoirs down i reloaded video 3 times it kept happening thanks for video
🤔 thanks for the heads up Jeanette.
Gracias 👍👍👍
What is the name of the Red Tool used to tighthen the faucet?
Hi Kayin, The tool is the Rigid Sink and Faucet Tool: amzn.to/2xQt9ZH . Very helpful for these type of jobs.
@@EverydayHomeRepairs I changed the faucet today. Without this Rigid Sink and faucet tool, it took me 30 minutes to removed the old one. The old one was rusted!!! That tool is for the next time if I needed. Thanks.
