This really worked thank u again so much. I used a recovery disk and went straight to command prompt typed notepad and changed that way
I knew of a similar way to do this but couldn't find the guide, this is simpler, thank you.

My man u save my computer...thanks...there are other videos that promote stupid software to run an recover...this method is really thoughtful.,..

We tried that to all computers in the office. It worked every time. We can even create administrator accounts and have access to all the data. Genius!

Absolutely brilliant! Thank you! And it still worked using a Windows Home Premium CD instead of my Windows 7 Professional CD, which I couldn't find. If anyone's having trouble you can try booting into Safe Mode. I have no clue what that might help but it's worth a try.
Except... On my own computer I don't have permission to rename sethc.exe back to cmd.exe.
So I made a copy of sethc.exe (formerly cmd.exe) and renamed the copy. Now I should be able to do the same to rename sethc2 back to sethc.exe.

did not work for me... at the cmd prompt net user gave three lines of out put..no input fields and had some sort of spaces for a password..that I did not put on the machine. I chose log on without password and overnight, windows decided I have a password and it's wrong.
When did u enter the cd? Or was it not needed here?

I have followed your instructions and everything went exactly as you said until the very end, my response to pressing the final "enter" was not " Type a password for the user: ...". Instead, I received a different prompt, " the syntax fo this command is: [username [password : *] [options ]] [/DOMAIN] ...do you have any suggestions from this point. I have retired doing the entire process but the result is the same....I appreciate your help, Thanks...
I get this, too. Seems to be if the username is more than one name. So far no one seems to have a clue and uploader won't reply either!
It was very helpful but when I got to the last step it said "the command completed successfully" but when I put the new password in, it says wrong password. Please help
Sticky Keys not Sticky Notes, but respect+! I never though of editing sticky keys to run cmd... It can be helpful even without removing the password, for example if you want open Admin CMD with 5-shift clicks

This is very simple method ..i like that ..
First you need to insert the Windows 7 CD / PD
after that you can click on Shift & F10 then camond promot open after that you can write cd... then enter
after u can write cd windows then enter

I remove password via Magnifier. Without CD of installer it is possible to swap cmd for magnify when you enforce repairing startup. But is is longer especially when you have slow computer. :D

Great video worked first time however quick question I have an old work laptop still decent that was on a domain, what would be the net user (login) password change command as it has a \ in and wont change the password... many thanks

old name of the user you typed , if you don't know what was the old name
you can solve the problem by using the Administrator account , but it's
hidden , Type in the cmd :
net user administrator /active:yes
now it will be visible in the login screen , try to open it ,if it
requires a password try to make a new one as you learned , then open
administrator account and do whatever you want from there ... ^_^
Mr Ahmad, i tried typing "net user administrator/active:yes" but this didnt take me to the admin log in. I cant switch to admin. Pls help
OK. So everyone who is using this method, but have the trouble in getting the syntax error when the username is more than one name. for example, John Jane Doe. When you get to the step of typing net user, type " net user administrator /active:yes " without the quotes and then press enter. This will set the administrator as active and then do the same steps as described in video to change the administrator password to one that you chose. Reboot to regular windows, and Administrator account will show up next to the user you were trying to change password for. Login to the Administrator account with the password you created. Go to control panel, user accounts (switch to view by large icons if the default view is category), then Manage another account. Click the account you want to change and click on REMOVE PASSWORD. Then you can go back and change the administrator back to ( /active:no ). Reboot and you will not be asked for password since you removed it. Then continue to follow instructions in this video to put everything back to the way it was. AND NO MORE PASSWORD, unless you create a new one.

Hi mate i wonder if you can help me...All my login details and passwords are already on screen before i type them in. Can you please tell me how i can go to my email loging site and login without my email and password already on screen? this is happens to anything i try to login to like face book or gmail...my details are already on screen before i have logged in.

How to deal with above message.
your method is all clear but i have a problem, my user name has spaces "Aït Hsaïn-Ayoub" and when i apply the command "net user Aït Hsaïn Ayoub password" it says that there's no such user name in like that, what should i do ?

That's weird. I don't thinks it's because of tutorial. Do you know if Windows was updated recently? I am guessing you are using a laptop. Check your keyboard options(under Region and Language), maybe something is messed in there.
If Windows was updates recently that might have caused an issue.
Try to connect another keyboard to see if it works.
