- VoxelPrint is a Grasshopper plug-in for voxel-based numerical simulation of concrete printing.
The component can voxelize any three-dimensional shape into a (Giga) set of identical finite elements and produce ready-to-use Input files for simulation in Abaqus. The main contribution of this work is providing an extensive, yet easy-to-use plugin to be used by both non-experts (e.g. architects and designers that are already familiar with the parametric toolbox that is provided by Grasshopper) and more advanced users (that can further experiment with the broad range of input parameters in an attempt to optimize their 3D print design). The core component uses state-of-the art numerical methods for simulation of concrete printing. Its general implementation is based on an approach first presented by Wolfs, Bos, and Salet [1], but also incorporates the newest extensions proposed by Vantyghem, Ooms, and De Corte [2]. The developed Grasshopper plug-in ‘VoxelPrint’ is freely available for educational and academic use and can be downloaded from the following website: www.food4rhino.com/app/Concre3DLab

Hello, I was trying to recreate this process to get the input file, but I am unable to generate the input file that contains the .inp file to be opened in ABAQUS. I do not know how to connect the node of the "filepath" to path location which can lead me to the generated input file, and it is not covered in this video. I would appreciate your help since process if very interesting and I am applying it for my PhD dissertation. Thank You for your help.
You can just add a panel component that contains the pathname for example: "C:\temp\test\" or "D:\output\". The standard location of the INP file is "C:\temp" if you don't connect it with anything.

@@Concre3DLabGhent VoxelPrint! I can generate.INP but unable to save/ locate the file in the respective folder. I also tried to add a panel and specify the location but it doesn't work.

@@Concre3DLabGhent Yes! Thank you for your interest. But I have a problem at cobraprint. It is an invalid character error. The error shows only "." This character. I looked to all numbers so as to find where the error is. I changed all of them with integers but I took same error. Can you help out me about this issue?
@@ismailhakktarhan7448 This has to do with your regional settings. A newer version (1.0.1) will be uploaded in a couple of hours that solve this bug and another minor bug concerning units.
