My Dad has recently died of HIV/aids,it wasn’t diagnosed until late stage and he was only 60 years old.
We only found out upon his death as he was too ashamed to tell anyone and I’m devastated that he felt this way.
The stigma and other people’s negative judgemental reactions have been a real eye opener and it is so wrong.

Hsv2 is 12%, and hiv is 1%. I have hsv2 , I’m a high risk white female. Too scared to test.... rather just die, than face a positive result. It’s not so much the virus that scares me but the stigma and the implications for dating and taking meds. You handle this so well. I’m so proud of you and you give me hope.

Hey i had protected sex and develop hiv like symptoms got test and came back negative then than tested 57 days from that and came back negative do i really have to wait for 3 month window period to get tested for hiv

I watched a story of a guy who had just gotten a tooth extrated which was infected and so not healed and he got hiv from oral. So rare though but talk about a perfect storm.

That's because we have the National Health Service Jen, it is not perfect but it makes up a hell of lot for not having health care because you cannot afford it. I have been on other channels with American HIV positive men who were unable to go to the doctor when thy had symptoms because they don't have health care insurance. I mean what kind of madness is that in a so called first world country? I mean how on earth can America be regarded as a first class nation without free healthcare for all of it citizens? What on earth are you paying taxes for?
But we HAVE programs all over the United States. No one has to pay out of pocket here. So much misinformation on the internet. The Ryan White Act was passed in 1990 to put aside federal funds for people living with HIV/AIDS. There is funding. ADAP is the AIDS Drug Assistance Program, and we have www.pparx.org, www.rxassist.org, www.patientadvocate.org, www.patientservicesinc.org. If you're diagnosed with HIV in the United States, either your doctor or a social worker will help that person get coverage if they don't have private insurance. There are 1.2 Million of us LIVING with HIV in the United States because we are on treatment and thriving. No one is dying because they can't get medication covered and are having to pay $3000 a month.

Im a nurse-and a few years ago i got a needle from a drug addict patient in my finger and i got so scared i never tested-i asked the patient if she had tested and she told me she was negative but still i had that fear inside me for years. I have morbus chron and had to test for hiv last week to be cleared since im getting biological medication for Chrons, i was negative. Now im beating myself up for being so stupid i been worried without testing for this long for no reason 🙈

I had a dental nurse poke herself and then her co worker ask me am I hiv negative and if I could take a test for her, so these doctors do discriminate and it hurts mentally to know this and that’s why I was hesitant to add another std on my record, because I notice how they already treat me as a hvs2 carrier. However I just took the test, to ease my mind from anxiety and to nip it in the butt early if this is the case.

Yes, it takes at least 3 months and sometimes even less than that to detect any antibodies.

You used condom ? A few week I got same thing, I got fever with headache and high fever and cough for few week during winter. Than after 2 month I have skin rash on lower back legs and tigh area. I dont know whether these conditions occurred because of weather conditions or I had sex with unknown women

Lol I've found this accidentally, I do not have HIV - anxiety BUT lots of the symptoms what the person from letter describe can come from depression / gut bacteria.
From there also anxiety triggers specific fears in us. Check your gut and maybe check if it isn't an common anxiety disorder.
And cool that you are so open about yourself, HIV was treated like a which hunt the past years, still people and myself included know only little about it. I didn't even know there were travel restrictions :o

Hi, I had some questions for you. A week after my exposure i started to get symptoms, you know a lot of them but the first one was digestive issues , and then so on. And I steered at 2 weeks and then at 2 months and both negative is there a chance It will change at 3 months ? Or is there any better test that can catch it faster? Maybe anxiety is getting to me.
