Puts vodka in gas tank *Later that night* Local news: A blue pickup truck with no driver has been seen at a local nightclub with multiple women in the back
I would be curious to see what would happen if you bumped it up to pure grain alcohol (Everclear). It might be even better, with much less water in the mix. Ethanol does tend to clean out the cylinders when ran. By doing this, you may have gained a little more efficiency. Not sure how long that will last once you switch back to straight gas, tho.
There are cars that run on both gas and ethanol, or any mix of the two. Pretty much any can in Brazil works that way. I've used isopropyl alcohol in an emergency once and it worked fine.
Imagine going into a liquor store and buying vodka and the shop keeper says: “Planning on getting wasted tonight?” And then the buyer says: “No but my car will.”
I have to weigh-in here. I'm an Aussie and if you're going to go to the remotest parts of the Great Southern Land, it's highly recommended that you pour some sort of distilled spirit into your fuel tank. The reason for this is because a lot of old petrol stations out past the Black Stump have never has their underground fuel tanks cleaned and there's no way of knowing just how much water has settled at the bottom of those tanks from water condensation. So, the wise long distance traveler always makes sure he has a bottle or two of methylated spirits or denatured alcohol or rubbing alcohol or whatever else it's called in the world. This is poured into the fuel tank at regular intervals. Distilled spirits, being aqueous in nature, will mix with any water in your fuel tank and will pass harmlessly through your fuel system and be burned up in your engine. The Aussie slang term for methylated spirits is metho. So we can all say that this bloke has metho in his madness!
When I studied to drive in Russia, my teacher told me that alcohol is the most useful thing to keep in your car, especially in winter. You can put it in your gas tank, in your windshield washer fluid reservoir, and in yourself, if needed
@@joefriday9356i think he was referring to the part where he said hes never gotten the truck over 75 before but now with vodka in the tank hes hitting 80
We have 90% etanol fuel at gas stations in Brazil, it's called "hidrated alcohol". Also we have gasoline/etanol vehicles everywhere, usually etanol will give 70% of range when compared to gasoline, but brazilian gasoline has 25% of etanol in it's composition.
What's funny is youtube is hiding analytical data about moonshining but over lockdown, wine and vodka making channels received their surge, who knows maybe that dangerous first distillate with methyl and other toxic stuff might be our fuel for the future
I used 100 Proof Vodka in my 1965 Go Cart with a 5 HP Briggs and Stratton engine mixed with gas. It ran fine, but on deceleration I got great looking Blue Flames from my exhaust pipe. Ah, those were the days :)
Officer: You have two empty half-gallon containers of vodka in the bed and your vehicle wreaks of alcohol. Driver: I poured it in the gas tank, sir. Officer: Put your hands behind your back.
I've heard of guys cleaning their engines by running water vapor through the air intake at high rpm, so it makes sense. 80 proof is 40% ethanol so 60% water plus the two or three gallons of gas you started with.
I spent a year building a propanol formation vessel in a oil refinery. Yep in CA gasoline is 15% alcohol and 10% everywhere else. Yes alcohol does eat at fuel lines and metal parts not made for alcohol consumption. Just your poor mans water injection. Once the engine warms it will make some more horsepower.
I really enjoyed this video because I’ve always wanted to know what would happen if you put anything else other than gas in your car/truck ! Great video ! Creativeeeee! Thank youu😉😉😉!
The water in the vodka when sprayed into the cylinder by the fuel injector became a very fine mist and under compression when the ethanol ignited, it flashed in to steam expanding its volume giving a boost to the ethanol. You should check to see if the vodka cleaned your fuel system.
In WW2 Hurricane fighters given to help the Soviets in Operation Barbarossa by the RAF were often started with vodka if they had been parked for a while under snow heaps. The 'science' was that it cleaned engines prior to properly filling with petroleum.
I ran a generator in Karbala with Iraqi Whiskey because we ran out of diesel...Works amazingly lol I quit drinking completely once I realized alcohol was fuel
In WW2 the germans added water methanol injection to their fighter planes to boost their performance and reach the allied bombers again. The water reduces engine knocking and the methanol cools and boosts it as far as i remember. I wasn't surprised your truck ran better with vodka, i was surprised it was only going 10% faster
You wanna' give your ranger a kick put a gallon of un-cut moonshine in the tank. Straight alcohol no water. The old shine runners kept a couple of gallons of straight run shine around to run in their cars. It kept them ahead of the cops.
My guess as to why the truck ran slightly better is because you thinned the fuel ever so slightly. You were most likely running a little rich before. Which ended up making your fuel mix leaner and allowing a little more power as the energy density of alcohol is quite a bit less than gasoline. Plus, the water would have cooled and possibly slowed the burn.
Also he mentioned when he fills the tank he gets a bit of a leak. Possibly the tank gets moisture inside and with the alcohol some of that got displaced maybe.
Exactly. I have to flow about 27-30% more fuel on my e85 tube compared to 93. Less btu of energy per gallon but cleaner burning, cooler burning and smells better than gas . Not to mention the performance to be had by being able to advance timing
If you have not tried it go with kerosene I did it with my Ford WinStar van I only had one gallon of gas left when the gas light came on from my house to gas station is 3 1/2 miles put one gallon of kerosene in and run run perfect I had a white cloud behind made it to the gas station LOL when I tried to turn it off it wanted to keep on running .
I don't know about vodka, but it is fine to put 80% or higher rubbing alcohol in your tank to remove water. Basically the rubbing alcohol mixes with the water and then will burn. Since Ribbing alcohol has water in it already, but still burns.
I'd be interested in knowing what the inside of the cylinders look like. I would imagine the concoction would have a cleaning effect as the water is vaporizing the carbon. You could also look at the oil to see if there's signs of water contamination
Yeah a dude once made a show and tell on sodawater, poured straight into the Air intake on the carburator!!! Full throttle! Straight from the bottle Dude Said THIS IS SECRET STUFF🤫🤫🤫 Totally CONFIRMED 💯 Cleaned out perfect!!!😆 🤫‼️

I would recommend 151 rum or moonshine, but keep in mind that the gasoline does prevent ring damage. The Alcohol can wash out the cylinders removing oil from the cylinder walls, thus damaging the rings.
My grandfather and great grandfather would put homemade moonshine in the truck if they ever ran out of gasoline, ofc this was rural Kentucky in the 30’s.
I know that truck! I aint no stranger! I know that truck, thats a ford....mazda....ranger? But seriously best trucks ever made. Some may argue, but i got a 1997 5 speed 4 cyl ranger. Wonder if they did that by design or just a happy mistake

I think it kills the fuel pump if the tank is empty first.

Short answer:- The car gains Russian citizenship
it bows down to the Motherland
Then defects back to the U.S.A. because socialism always fails.
Then defects back to Russia because capitalism doesn't work.

Exactly what I expected to happen but no it was just running fine of off vodka
I would recommend 151 rum or moonshine, but keep in mind that the gasoline does prevent ring damage. The Alcohol can wash out the cylinders removing oil from the cylinder walls, thus damaging the rings.
My grandfather and great grandfather would put homemade moonshine in the truck if they ever ran out of gasoline, ofc this was rural Kentucky in the 30’s.
Hey, if it works, it works 🤷♂️
Another 2B lover. Nice to see a man of culture
Yeah real moonshine is like 90 to 95 percent ethanol, its also still not that hard to get a hold of in the south in 2021.

I know that truck! I aint no stranger! I know that truck, thats a ford....mazda....ranger?
But seriously best trucks ever made. Some may argue, but i got a 1997 5 speed 4 cyl ranger. Its basically been unkillable so far. Even snapped the timing belt and kept trying to drive it while rolling. Slapped a new belt in and it turned right on. Non interferenc setup. Wonder if they did that by design or just a happy mistake
