When the weather cools down from the inferno we're going through now, I'm going to be installing a MP concepts splitter with rods I will be able to run totally straight up and down with no threads showing. I'm going to use the mounting points you did. Tried using a Phillips head, nope. Long story short on my 23 Challenger it's not a Phillips or even a Allen head. For some reason they decided to use a Torx head. I found no reason in my case to use a longer screw. All I will have to do is shave the diameter of the head of the screw down so it will fit in the brackets. Unless I can find one that will work at the hardware store. Can't wait for the heat wave to break. Plus I will be adding a ton more screws along the front edge and sides because what the drilled out for is just not enough for self taping/ wood screws.
No disrespect.. because your car looks great. I did some research.. and some people that installed the bracket bars to the lower grill regretted it because at high speeds the wind will rip it off and trash your grill.
Now stand, or even just put your foot with just a bit of weight on your splitter and see how stupid this was. This looks good parked, at 120MPH it's gonna be another story. Splitters should be installed on the chassis to generate the proper downforce effect and for safety reasons. If the plan is to tear off the front grill then that should do it!
Its so simple, just change to a self tapping screw, thanks brother! I was about to remove my bumper.
Thank you I was asking if it was self tappers
Thanks brother saved me from alot of work 🙏
ur welcome bud

Did the wind rip your grill out yet ?

Splitter rods should be chasis mounted, not bumper mounted.
