Lillian's tremendous career would be plagued by alcoholism which she eventually would successfully manage later in life. Her frank autobiography I'll Cry Tomorrow was adapted to the 1955 hit movie of the same name starring Susan Hayward.
Lillian's inscription on her tombstone reads: As bad as it was it was good.

She had a lot of talent. She's very natural! I like that kind of performances.
Please, I don't understand quite well the whole lyrics. Can anybody put the lyrics in there? Thanks

Can someone tell me what is wrong in the lyrics of the song?
I did it by ear... Thank You!!
    Oh, Play it again
    That hot you playing,
    that happy play song
    I’m tired of jazz
I’m gonna rest for lot of pep
Don’t send them away, tell them to stay
Tell them to play that sweet slow melody
    Do it for me
    I wanna be just...
    lowdown, lowdown
Don't tell me to slow down
I'm sayin' when they start playin'
That red hot rhythm, you'll find me with 'em..
    New tunes, blue tunes
Just give me a few tunes
To dance to with someone up
to have some rythm that I’ll beginning
I love all the gin that puts the sin in syncopation
    I do now and then,
get up the jam for add a new sensation
    Bach and Chopin
Can't give me what Jazz can
No music, I like my music
    lowdown!

Here are the lyrics, as best as I can get them. The question mark (?) is the one word I can never understand.
      Oh, play it again
      that hot refrain
      that snappy (?)
      Cuz I’m dyin’ to step
      I got a rep
      For lots of pep.
      Don’t stand in my way
      Tell’em to stay
      Tell’em to play
      that sweet low melody.
      Do for me
      I want to be just...
      Low down, blow down,
Don’t tell me to slow down.
      I’m sayin’
      when they start playin’
      the red hot rhythm
      you’ll find me with’em.
      New tunes, blue tunes
Just give me a few tunes
to jazz to when someone has to
      put pepper in it
      then I’ll begin it.
      I love all the gin
      that puts the sin
      in syncopation.
      I do now and then
      get up a yen
      for any new sensation.
      Bach and Chopin
can’t give me what jazz can.
      No new kick
I like my music low down.
      Low down, blow down,

The roots of (C)rap "music" go waay back, even before this.

There was a dance called the lowdown. It also means ' the news' ir gossip. I'm not sure here😊

I don't quite understand the meaning of the word "Lowdown".
Does that word means in the song "to be vulgar" "to act happy-go-lucky" or rather "to be a sensation", "to be something new"?
    Thank you.
