She was Beautiful..they remind me of my Dear friends Pat and Laura from 91st.. my friends long gone..they were there from the very beginning..my good friends. I'll NEVER forget them as long as I live.
I love Edie so much, I wish I could have met her but we were born in different generations. I’ll just continue to watch her! Her face laughter talking draws me in, I hope she knows just how loved she was even though she’s gone she won’t be forgotten ❤
She had such a beautiful heart and soul she really did she literally gave her life up to stay at grey gardens with her mom atleast she did they out of grey gardens
@@heather9329 she was indeed its a tragic story yet it is a story of hope and love i am happy little edie got to do some things she wanted to do before she passed away she put her life on hold for her mother's stubbornness an ansolute angel
@@pamela6507 They were both two legends. They were trapped together, it was like a pressure cooker in there. Imagine how hard it was for them before the house was done up a little. The mother did love little Edie, they were both eccentric. I think Edie gravitated back to the house herself.
There is such a depth of sadness that reflects the human condition in this. The feel of the song so perfectly fits the passages that Little Edie states, beginning with, "Pride!"
I always identified with her. I love my mother but for much of my life we were enmeshed. I turned 50 and met my husband, moved across country and I'm happy with my life now. I'm glad LE had some years of happiness once her mother passed.
During these years it was like she was just waiting for her freedom- to be free from a very controlling mother . Thank god little Edie lived long enough to have that freedom towards the end of her life in Florida ❤❤❤
The people on here saying they'd have befriended her or loved to have know her make laugh. Chances are, you'd have treated her like just like her contemporaries did. You'd have kept your distance and gossiped about her. There are people like Edie all around you and you don't notice. It's because she's famous that it's given her an inverted, posthumous status she never had in life. In real life, people keep the damaged and eccentric at arm's length. Especially as they age.
You kept a good soul through out your life. With no one coming to your aid when you and your mother needed help the most. My heart goes out to you and your mother. You sweet sweet Lady....
What an amazing lady. You can see when she was having a mania episode her whole face changes and she can't stop moving. I imagine she would get sad in the winters. Glad she broke free in the end.
2:57 has anyone ever heard anything from the teen boy on the bed? He was Edie’s little friend who she would talk to. I think their relationship was so pure and adorable and what a sweet young man to check in on her when he could of been out with friends! Where is he now!?
His name is Jerry Torre. When little Edie first laid eyes on him when he came to their door she called him the Marble Faun. He looked exactly like an illustration from the Nathaniel Hawthorne novel. He went on to become a famous sculptor in -get this- marble! She was so astute..as was Big Edie, they both adored Jerry. He is living with his male partner, yes he's gay.

I have watched grey gardens for years and while doing ancestry found that a 3 rd cousin married phelan beale ,brother to little Edie ... its great knowing there is a connection lol
Everything I have read, and its extensive, about Little Edie... Points to Her mother as a trap.. who crushed her spirit... to the point that she could often be mean.. In the summer of 1950 Jackie and Black Jack visited the pair, Doris Francisco observed Little Edie attack a 21 year old Jackie over her father. Shocked Doris apologised for Edie.. "Oh Doris" exclaimed Jackie, "It's so much more complicated than you realize. Forgive Edie, she has good reason to be mad at Daddy".. Whether about his abuse of Big Edie's trust fund, Her entrapment by Big Edie, or something of a more intimate nature Doris didn't know.. But it says a lot about Little Edie, and Jackie's understanding of the situation Little Edie found heself in...
Her mother held her back for just her wierd family responsibilities as she was a female and the father was weirdly dismissive and strict by over stepping his rules-her c shoes which she didn't need special shoes was just wierd .Eddie Still became unique and fought back.
From the first time, I saw Gray Manor, I fell in love with Edie, not so much the mother. Did Edie ever get help for her mental illness and when does she pass away?
I love her. What a wonderful, kind and insightful woman. Bless her misunderstood and underappreciated soul. I hope she's in a place of love now.
Much ❤️ love to you little Edie

She was severly mentally ill. That's Obvious 😮

I highly recommend Jerry’s book “The Marble Faun of Grey Garden’s”. It’s a beautiful perspective on the gals. And Jerry did them proud. ❤️
Her smile was wonderful.

Amongst the deterioration of the house Edie always looked glamorous, love her ❤
She's just so dear. I love her
Absolutely a legend. I'd give anything just to chat with her. Amazing 👏
Me too!
Thank you, Maysles brothers. The world needed to meet this woman.
Edie Beale was a beautiful soul. I wish her peace.
They need a monument in East Hampton for how cruel the town was to them!
Agreed!!!
"F**K East Hampton, then and now!!!
I've seen Grey Gardens more times than any other movie. I adore both Edie's. These Days and Nico's vocals fit so beautifully with these film clips.
I love her way of speaking so much. The accent, the gentleness, the flourishes. When she said something, she meant it.
She must of touched everyone’s heart who watched grey gardens ..beautiful soul 🙏
I met Little Edie at Reno Sweeney’s cabaret in 1977 Oh boy.
Tell us more!
Lucky!

I love this because there are so many of her beautiful smile. I love her so much.
They never harmed anyone. They just wanted to stay in their home and live their lives in the past together. God Bless Their Sweet Souls.❤️❤️
LOL. the fuck you say never harmed anyone. How well do you know that family? really how well do you know?
Seems like you know something the original commenter doesn't. Who did they harm? I'm genuinely curious... @@brianw4brian
Little Edie is so beautiful.
Two of my favorite things. Little Edie and Nico’s music. Beautiful compilation. Thank you. 👌
This beautiful song is perfect for little Edie ♥️

Such stylish, beautiful, unique lady.
I like her so much. She was a lovely sweet person.
I hope she found peace. ❤
They were trapped in time. Missed 25 years of 50’s and 60’s no electricity no food no water??? Seriously how did they survive
Thank you so much for this. I love Edie. She makes me love myself.
So incredibly beautiful and insightful! Astounding how much a mother can hurt their own child out of sheer selfishness!
She was very sweet and kind.
I loved little Eddie . Beautiful spirit ❤
Me too, Rachel. For today, our moment is loving Eddie.
She was gorgeous
My cats are called bomber moon gray gardens.and tinker star gray gardens.xxxxc love too you both and your cats...you will be remembered❤
She lived to her 80’s.
A real beauty
she was truly an aristocrat in the higher sense of the word, every bit as much as her cousin, if not more
In honorance of Edie Beale. Her taste in fashion is very reinventable. Very inspiring.
She wore scarves and brooches as headwear in such an interesting way.
I am just so glad that they were able to do their own things. Artists are sooo beautiful.
A visionary
A true icon

What a beautiful, fabulous, clever tribute ❣️ Thank you for your hard work 👏⭐
Magnificent Queen Edie ❤
How did she remain so beautiful?
This is perfect. Thank you
She's so beautiful ❤
Little Edie passed away in 2002 and the movie Grey Gardens came out in 2009. I think she would have liked how Drew Barrymore portrayed her.
The original documentary came out in 1975 while both Big and Little Edie were alive.
i just love her
She was a really beautiful and special woman, even in her adulthood. If I was alive during that time, I would really like to know her🌹
I love this so much
Id do anything to be able to sit and have a conversation with her when I get to heaven I’m gonna find her she was way before her time and I love her
I would have loved
to have been friends
with little edie.❤️❤️
Nicely done.
Little Eddie had the most sweet laugh…
Great match up with Edie and Nico. I wonder if they ever met! I do believe they were in some of the same circles Little Edie was a Warhol muse.
we all like to think our best sides are a little Edie
I love her so much.
♥
Wonderfully edited and lovely Nico singing, thankyou x
So beautiful and flirtatious...her mother is so JEALOUS 😢
Gentle soul
Such a beautiful woman, even there her body was perfect, she's my icon today, I love her , what would be of her if she stayed in NYC ?
LOVE ❤❤❤
I hope her later years were super happy!
Lil Edie had beautiful soul ❤ Her mother controlled her love for her. Big Edie was not nice to her daughter.
Lit’l Eddie has a very pretty laugh!
i love her laugh...so cute!
❤ u Litte Edie.
She loved life
Iconic🥰
It appears she needed glasses. She was always using a magnifying glass. Breaks my heart
Could the Maysels have brought her some reading glasses?

Be your authentic self, even if it’s a staunch character
while she was at Grey Gardens did she keep swimming? she seemed to be in an excellent shape.

She’s quite frankly “ beyond camp “.
Who gave the mother a notebook and recipe box for her birthday? I couldn’t understand that
