Weight isn't the only factor when choosing gear. When we can cut weight and retain function then we absolutely will. Most of our guys work tirelessly to get opportunities and just feel that a little extra weight in the rifle can go a long ways in making a great first shot on game in the field.
Who cares? Literally, who cares. It's common vernacular because hunting rifles used to be loaded with...clips. Seriously, grow up and stop trying to gatekeep based on language.
It looks like who wants to spend more money on their gun video, but it all comes down to who can shoot them accurate that’s why I buy the cheaper guns practice is the key
David we all could spend much more money on guns then we have here. When your job and passion is hunting, spending some extra money on a gun that you trust and that shoots lights out seems pretty appropriate to us. Nothing against cheaper options, we just use the gear that works best for us.
I can understand where David is coming from, nothing against a good purpose built setup, it just seems these days any new/young/first time hunters see custom rifles all over social media and think that they have to spend thousands to get out into the hills and enjoy themselves. They can do the same thing with an out of the box Rem 700 or Tikka t3 for example. Don't get me wrong, my main hunting rifle is a custom build, so obviously nothing against them.
Clynt I couldn’t agree more! I work in the hunting/firearm industry and I answer these questions every day, it’s unfortunate that social media has glorified hunting to point where if your not spending every last dollar on high end gear or shooting animals at un-ethical ranges your not cool! My suggestion to customers is spend more time in the field hunting then saving money to buy all this expensive gear because the bottom line is you can’t be a skilled successful hunter if your not hunting. Use what you have and can afford, our grandfathers used to get it done every year with almost nothing.
Nothing says I shoot whitetail out of a tree stand at 80 yards more then your tag being 2MOA hunter. Probably shoots a .270 win or a 300 win mag and zeros his scope to be 1.5 inches high at 100 yards with 2 rounds out of the same box of ammo he has been hunting with since 2005.

@@MrHf4l Glad that the lightweight factory guns are working for you. Unfortunately we've used lightweight factory guns and honestly most of them just don't perform in difficult situations like we want. Pros and cons to all of it.

Appreciate the input. Muzzle brakes reduce recoil thus allowing you to better spot your impacts which is something any good hunter should strive to do on their shots on game. Are they obnoxiously loud, absolutely.
Tell me you are old without telling me you are old….. very few if any on here are using light plastic stocks, most of them are using high end carbon fiber stocks and are on the heavier or middle weight side. No wonder they need 3 lb frame packs when they are carrying 10-12lb clubs, and i thought my 9.5lb 300 wby mag was a tank for a hunting rig
Weight isn't the only factor when choosing gear. When we can cut weight and retain function then we absolutely will. Most of our guys work tirelessly to get opportunities and just feel that a little extra weight in the rifle can go a long ways in making a great first shot on game in the field.
Bud I thought this was a video by profesionales right up until the guy referred to his rifle’s magazine as a clip. Do better.
Who cares? Literally, who cares. It's common vernacular because hunting rifles used to be loaded with...clips. Seriously, grow up and stop trying to gatekeep based on language.
Bud you use a stripper or en blonc CLIP to load a magazine. I bet you call a tissue a Kleenex🤣
Thanks! Now can we do a video with real caliber like 338 Lapua? Thanks!
Not even single gun is well put together. These rifles are meant to hunt from the couch. From loud muzzle breaks to two pounder scopes , ridiculous!
Are you suggesting that your standards for a mountain rifle are the absolute standards?
Hunt from the couch eh? Weird since all these guns go on long distance backpack hunts without complaint.
I signed in specifically to tell you how stupid this comment is.
You build a light weight rifle spend ton of money but it’s under 10 bs. And had it 20 years we all know eldx was not for 20 years nice guns but I don’t want to make you shame on your video
Is that english?
There’s not a single gun on this video I would carry on a hunt… $5000 for 9-12# rifles 😂
To each there own. Guys have been killing animals with open sight guns for years.
@@stoneglacier9636 I can afford any gun I want but choose to take light weight factory guns into the backcountry. Plenty of options out there that shoot just as good as these $5k heavy rifles. Seems to me all the “company gear guys” just want to look cool with their proof research barrels and make videos about how cool their rifle is.
I’d rather spend that $5k on tags and transport every year personally.
@@MrHf4l Glad that the lightweight factory guns are working for you. Unfortunately we've used lightweight factory guns and honestly most of them just don't perform in difficult situations like we want. Given we like to practice a lot with our hunting rigs, a light barrel heats up very quickly causing POI shift on larger strings of fire meaning less time for practicing and more time waiting for a barrel to cool down. Pros and cons to all of it.
My Sako 85 is under 7 lbs scoped
@@stoneglacier9636 You'll be lucky to find factory guns that actually shoot 1" MOA.Many are 2" groups whch is fine for short ranges. I've have custom rifles like these built and they tend to be 1/4 - 3/8" MOA or better with the right ammo. A 4,000-5,000 rifle may not be worth it to everyone but if I have one shot at an animal, I'd rather have a little extra weight and accuracy in my rifle. I personally shoot Khales 5x25 scopes with SPUHR mounts as the glass is insane and they track like a NF. Yes, I know they weight 2 pounds...
I know more than you.
muzzle breaks for hunting rifles ?... you young blokes are all about the tactical crap so unnecessary , big caliber rifles with plastic stocks and then some guys use a "muzzle break noise maker " to control recoil ? , and by the way you are aloud to say millimeter even if you are merican
Appreciate the input. Muzzle brakes reduce recoil thus allowing you to better spot your impacts which is something any good hunter should strive to do on their shots on game. Are they obnoxiously loud, absolutely.
haha, you said blokes. do your monarchs allow you to own a gun?
Mils is short for milliradian, not millimeter.
You clearly know very little about guns if you have to question the purpose of a break and think mils is short for millimeter. 🥴🥴
Tell me you are old without telling me you are old….. very few if any on here are using light plastic stocks, most of them are using high end carbon fiber stocks and are on the heavier or middle weight side. Muzzle break will help significantly with recoil and if they don’t mind the noise…. Then why do you care? Is there something about the muzzle brake that is unethical or hurts you in some way?
Suppressors on hunting rifles just aren't worth it .
Maybe in your opinion. to quote a wise man, "What kind of bullshit are you spewing?"
@@DakotaDinwoodie it's called logic , try to get familiar.
@@honcho714 Can you teach me?
@DakotaDinwoodie unfortunately I don't think I can , it's similar to common sense , either you have it or you don't.
@@honcho714 please, do explain to me why you think suppressors arent worth it?
please also explain how to remove a harris bipod instantly.
All these Kats in comments talking shit about the price of these rifles... All the while they have 60 guns and 10,000 rounds of 5.56 for the zombie apocalypse. 😂😂 Sell some of yo shit and you will be able to afford something pricey.
my brother has a whole room full lf guns and gives me a hard time for only having a browning maxus wicked wings duck gun, CVA accura lr-x, and building a new rifle.😂😂😂😂
What tripod is that?
