    Nice video showing a competent person doing a very competent work. Your care with all the cleaning procedures proves that you take your work very seriously! If I needed a new glass on my phone I would trust the job to you!

    I second Muhidin's comment.. Definately ignore the haters man.. GREAT VID!. I have a friends whos been walking around w a cracked screen for longer than i can stand. Ive replaced screens on all kinds of Samsung tabs so I said I would check out if I could hook him up.. I watched 3 vids b4 this one and they all left a little to be desired. After watching tbis video I know Its a pretty standard fix the RIGHT way... You left nothing to question ,very professionally done.. Thankyou.. Haha also.. How exactly are you supposed to talk in a vid that 85% sped up?. Now your supposed to lay audio over your video too?? People man!?.

    I replaced my glass on my note 2 and all I did was heat the front up and pulled apart the glass from screen. did nothing more than take the back off and removed battery. Their was no need to break the phone down like that.

    This is pro stuff and I wouldn't recommend the average person to try and do that themselves. Replacing the whole display is way easier but it costs about 140 Euros so it seems tempting to buy just the glass. But it's really really difficult, keep that in mind.

      Take out the battery and then All you have to do is heat the screen and remove the glass... All that other stuff is SO not necessary. Those phones can be left in a hot car and be fine so they can withstand a blow dryer... Plus, the phone is less likely to be reassembled properly with this method. I would NEVER try this method.

    If you push the glass down in the middle, will the screen freeze?
    I saw another (german) video and he said this will be an issue and you'll have to live with that.
    I have a note 2 here which isn't really worth anything.
    I only wanted the mainboard but the screen seems to still work fine.
    The seller said it's dead.
    Probably a fun project trying to repair it.

    Good old Note 2 days when glass was as thick as a coin and could be removed without a problem even shattered. Try this with a Lumia 550 XL or a Galaxy Note 8.... I have a heatgun with temperature setting, used many solvents and LOCA remover, windshield lifter and still it took hours to clean up everything. The they use stronger glue compounds today and glass is super thin and brakes off in 1 million parts.

  • @RandomAFP
    @RandomAFP 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    The screen on mine was made up of three parts, so this vid needs close-ups of removal from the side as it let go between the middle section and the display, but the glass wouldn't come off. I assume the middle bit is the touch controller, as it had a connector on it. No amount of heat would make that part from the front glass and the non-shattered end shattered end turned to so much sand when I tried to get the pick between them, so as it was 2nd hand phone, I suspect someone did this before and used a different glue.

    ex one phone. Those little white connectors at 3.00 don't (wont) like being plugged back in again after second time. Anyway wasn't only screen that was cracked. Too bad, was a nice phone. Last time to fix broken screen they charged my $360 (the replaced the whole insides I think).. wasn't going to pay that again.

    RIPd my phone on step 3, when pulling off the glass, it seems I pulled off part of the LCD as well and ripped off a connector that I thought I could just pull off. I guess my hot air blower doesn't seem to have been hot enough or something, because it didn't remotely seem like there was something glued to the glass.

    Great video, don't mind the haters bro.
    I have a question, I broke the glass on my new note 4, :( I'm typing right now on it, so the display works, but in the service they said that display should be replaced, and that costs like 200 $ but the glass for it on eBay is like 10 or something like that. So should it be a good idea for me to try the display change myself? Because those would ripp me of.

    • @gadgetgeek7657
      @gadgetgeek7657  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks muhidin! Ouch, sorry to hear that. The design and build of the Note 4 is a lot stronger compared to the Note 2, soon as I have a broken Note 4 I'll be sure to put a vid up but if you're going to try it, make sure you get the right type of replacement parts, take your time to get familiar with how the Note 4 is put together and make notes as you go so it's not a mystery when it's time to put it back together. The hardest part is getting the existing glue removed so take your time
