She is simply fantastic. Her vocals are riddled with: a brilliant sense of pitch, swing, great timing, humour, urgency, friendliness and so many other qualities.
I saw Petula perform live about 15 years ago. What a wonderful experience, she was amazing. I spent summer 1964 at the beach and I remember all the fabulous songs that were hits at the time. According to the internet, Downtown charted earlier in the year, but I so remember singing along to Downtown with my friends. The song still brings good memories,

So do I-don’t care how old she is. She’s always been absolutely adorable! A wonderful person with an equally wonderful voice. They don’t make them like Pet anymore! One of a kind!
Everybody loves this song, not just because Petula has such a delightful, sparkling presence, but because we all had "a place" when we were young that this song could have been written about.
Don't intend to seem ancient ... but this type of music score, with an absolute genuine talent of vocal range, facial expressions, overall stage presence, really strikes my memory banks as a true treasure well worth the saving. Back when live meant LIVE without the need of "enhanced" electronics and gizzzz-moez to doctor-up what really doesn't need a "place" with Petula on this stage.
Can’t think of any female artist today who could top this live performance. Delivery is perfection, note perfect and of course, Petula looks perfect as usual. Love her to bits-and she’s still performing!

Fantastic performance of the classic hit I Know a Place by the beautiful singer, actress, entertainer, performer, person pianist, and songwriter Petula Clark in a beautiful dress, hairstyle on a beautiful set! It's a nice thought but unfortunately it would be totally lost on them, they did not grow up with it and so it just sounds completely alien, much the same as I would not want to listen to any music from the 1940's. Although there might be a chance if it ever gets used in a popular TV show or a film, in the same way that an old Kate Bush song got a new lease of life when it was used in a current TV show.
This is a lot faster than the record version, someone really needed to squeeze this into a time slot. 😄 Nailed it as usual. What a great singer she is.

The lyric is “a cellarful of noise” which makes me think she means The Cavern. Partly because Brian Epstein wrote a book with that title. Not sure if that is what the lyricist meant.
