Scorsese is like a film encyclopedia, i love hearing him speak.
I am a huge Scorsese fan and man, I really like Goodfellas, The Departed, Taxi Driver, Wolf of Wall Street, Casino, and Gangs of New York.
But most of all, Raging Bull, the greatest movie of all time!!!
I'm offended you didn't at least mention King of comedy
He's my favourite director. Although, the departed is my personal favourite of his, I also think that Raging Bull, from a craftsmanship standpoint is the most(at least one of) well-made movie of all time.
The Departed is my favorite. Goodfellas is a close second. Casino is good too. But I don't think The Wolf of Wall Street was that great.
I only liked The Departed and no else movies of him.

Greatest movie ever made. I can't exaggerate how many times I've seen it. Since I was a kid. I'm 35 and I've seen it "literally " a hundred times.

Goodfellas is probably one of my favorite Scorsese films (along with Raging Bull). It's definitely one of the greatest gangster films-it has a terrific story, acting, camera work, and tons of other terrific elements. All my life I've wanted to be a gangster forever!
@legendsxdie123 He is a film encyclopedia because before going into the film-making business, Scorsese was a film critic, thus allowing to learn about films WAY more than the average person.

You are forgetting the scene in Taxi Driver when Travis kills a black thief at a convenience store, and the store owner asks Travis to leave as if nothing happened.
Although, I don't think Scorsese has a racist side at all. He's too smart for something like that.

Scorsese is absolutely brilliant. Taxi Driver is a masterpiece (among others of course, but definitely my favorite).
Love Scorsese. One of the realest directors out there next to Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood.

Martin Scorsese is probably one of the greatest directors of all time! Goodfellas, The Departed, Gangs of New York, and Cape Fear are probably my top four favorite Scorsese films but I've always wondered if Scorsese had a racist side to him since most of his films have dialogue that belittles or discriminates against African-Americans. Just a thought.

Scorsese glorified the criminals in Goodfellas; he made the cops and people that reported the criminals as clowns. He's more sympathetic (and fan of) these thugs than he's willing to admit...
That's your interpretation. He shows us how we can be seduced by that life style.
He did the same with Wolf of wall street. The character in that lives an incredibly lavish life, but ultimately loses everything, and everyone around him gets destroyed.
If you watch his films and them really want to become like the people in his films, you're a little messed up.
Had he intended to glorify them, he wouldn't have included all of the incredibly nauseating violence and the last act where we see them all getting their comeuppance. Glorifying them would have had them acting for some motive other than money and power, but there's none of that. Granted the main characters show concern and fraternity for one another, but in the end, they all try to sell out the other. So, sure, if you watch only the first 90 minutes, it's a glorification. The last hour or so is anything but.

Ive often watched Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese on separate interviews discuss their love of movies. And just watching people describe their passion is always a thrill because you're buying the person and not jus the movies they describe. They help to see the product in a different way.
Sorry I rambled but anyway, I always felt that the difference between watching Spielberg describe movies and Scorsese describe movies, Spielberg is definitely a textbook or an encyclopedia while Scorsese is a friggin library.
