When I bought my Turbo 400 for my truck it was working just fine and not leaking with the original Factory pan.. I decided to upgrade to a fancier deep pan and now it leaks. I think in the future I will probably have to do the same thing as you guys are doing
Oh damn. Another pretty pan victim. LOL. Seriously though, that sucks. I hope it's just a bad seal that you can replace at a different time and it doesn't grown into something more. Thanks for watching and sharing. We really appreciate it!
I’m just glad to see you guys are still having fun! That transmission cooler will be cool to see. I’ve never seen tranny lines ran like that before. I wonder why hot rods have it ran that way 🤔
Thanks Matt for watching and continuing to follow along on the journey with us. We appreciate you. It's the first time I've seen stuff like that as well so who knows why they choose to run it that way. Have a safe and wonderful Christmas with the fam!
well that looked like the most fun you can have keeping your clothes on??i didn't know of your cooler situation but not a good idea to bypass a cooler, even on a hot rod.i have seen guys do that while transmissions are sitting around on the floor or under a bench to keep from leaking fluid and keeping crap out?you can buy the new reproduction steel cooler lines,pre-bent and that makes the job easier and then put the cooler where you can,out in front of the rad.for the fella with the fancy deep pan that leaks,if it's a new chrome deep pan,it's likely chinese, they all leak,it seems.i have a deep pan on my 72 truck but it's a factory GM piece, they put a deep steel pan, factory on some 1 ton truck chassis that ended up under UPS type delivery vans and some heavy pick up trucks i imagine.if you do find one,you need to get the oil filter extension also to put the filter down in the bottom of the pan.they work well.
Hello to our friend from NS. Thanks so much for watching and sharing Greg. You mention the line possibly being done that way when it's sitting. I wonder if you're on to something since that might have been when the rust set in as well. Such a mystery with these classics. Like a box of chocolates. LOL. I don't think I'm going to have the cooler near the rad. I'm considering it being mounted under the cab. Shorter line length and I have seen others do that with theirs that have these. Time will tell. Cheers!
