@Alfred Ripley I just spoke to my dad’s friend who is a business advisor and accountant just like his wife. He already told me to try the markets I’ll be pushing before throwing money at it. Wonderful great Jesus Christ.

Could be a bad ground to the fuel pump as well. You will get bit calling bad fuel pumps like that. Take a test light from positive and hook it to the feed spot on the relay to the fuel pump. If it lights then you know your wiring is in tact feed and ground. If it doesn't then you need to trouble shoot back at the pump and verify ground and power to it. Plus you need to see if the computer is commanding the fuel pump on or not.
@Hank Bridges But it doesn't identify the technicians lack of training, their lack of knowledge or their lack of practical skills...that only comes with taking an interest, training and experience. No point having thousands of $$ worth of equipment if one doesn't know how to use the equipment, has no basic electrical knowledge and no basic skills right?..🤣lol
@@simonilett998 I am not talking about thousands of dollars worth of tools, I am talking about a $3 Harbor Freight Test light. Yes he needs to know how to do the test, but that why I am telling him how to do it. He will get there.
@@frugalprepper My apologies, I think you mistook my post as a reply to yours. I wasn't questioning your method using a test light at all, I actually clicked the like button to this post but pretty sure that's all. A test light is one of the most reliable and cost effective tests to confirm cicuit integrity 'before' firing the parts cannon...lol. I was simply replying to Hank Bridges' post about using much more expensive equipment, as it would be a substantial investment for the tools he suggested and the time it would take to learn some basics, before it would be much good to someone with little experience. Perhaps my post ended up in the wrong place, as I've seen that a few times on YT recently, and also don't see Hank's post here now either👍
I’m very very new to auto mechanics but I’m trying to be like a sponge and learn as much as I can from watching these kinds of videos as well as just personal experience and trial and error. I want to commend you on your troubleshooting ability. I think most would agree the implementation of a auto related fix is such a small part of it and what makes you so good at what you do is the ability to quickly and efficiently use tricks you’ve learned from years of experience to help you narrow the field of possible issues and diagnose a problem. Really cool to see how you go about that. Great videos and all the best. Thanks!
I worked at dominos for manyyears and repaired my coworkers cars in the parking lot when business was slow. It was better than chasing one dollar tips.
A little trick I use on those troublesome gaskets is a thin layer of Vaseline. Gasoline is petroleum oil vaseline is petroleum jelly. So they don't interfere with each other 😎👍

I respect what you're doing I am a mobile mechanic myself try to get yourself a forced kerosene heater it will keep your truck warm and you can go in and out whenever you feel cold good luck
3 years late but whenever you put a vehicle on jackstands like that, especially when the stands are fully raised up, always chock the wheels still on the ground so the vehicle can't roll causing the stands to tip over. People have gotten killed because of this oversight. The best thing to do when using jackstands is to go bigger, 6 ton ones would allow a lot of room without having to raise the paws up so high, less susceptible to tipping over.
The most wholesome mechanic I’ve seen on TH-cam to date. Can tell he’s a hard working honest guy. Love the content, definitely subscribing because I love learning about cars even if it’s just through watching someone else work on cars. Keep it up!
Suggest organizing van with labels for your tools & parts. Every advantage you can get on speed can help. Also suggest getting a rechargeable leaf blower to clean area under a car before working.

Alright, new sub here, and I love your channel. Any service where you go to the customer in lieu of them coming to you is solid gold, in my opinion. The idea of a mobile mechanic is smart. It ranks right up there with mobile auto detailers and mobile personal trainers (the trainers who bring their gym/studio in a cargo trailer or box truck). But here's a bit of advice... stop mentioning Auto Zone's name and merch. Don't even show their boxes or house brands on you videos. They don't have to sponsor you, you're advertising for them for free. But keep hustling and building your brand and channel, and soon the sponsors will come. I've seen channels, not auto mechanic channels, but channels nonetheless, with less subs than yours with sponsors. They're coming. I promise. But in the meantime, stop giving the milk away for free. I look forward to your future content.
Dude... you had me at screenshot. Using a "bread" truck for a shop truck 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 never thought about that! Such an awesome idea. I thought about doing a mobile mechanic business myself, but it's been years since I've laid hands on a car for maintenance. I'm super rusty and wouldn't even know where to start. Also thought about auto detailing. Anyways, I think I'm gonna stick around and see what you got going on, bro. Keep up the good work and stay safe. 😁
No disrespect, but being a mobile mechanic seems about as bad as I imagined it being. I hate rolling around on the cold, dirty ground working on my own cars at my own home. I can't imagine going to a strange location to work on someone else's hooptie, particularly to apartment properties where people might give you lots of grief for doing work in the parking lot. Feel like this is a job that would be infinitely better with a buddy/partner, but I get that the financials don't work out. Major props to you though, good sir. Subbed. Very interesting stuff.
They make better money than us ase mechanics. And if I did it I'd definitely want an assistant but, that's a slippery slope. They will soon start taking their own jobs.
Hey Mate, when you go to a AutoZone ask to fill out a commercial form, some light information and you get a account there. prices range from 20% or 30% cheaper usually and same warranty and they can outsource parts for you. Just letting you know. - a AutoZone employee
This has got to be one of the biggest tips I've ever heard. Thank you so much, normally I use Rockauto for parts but that creates a wait time that some people aren't too fond of.
Had a mobile mechanics business here in Aus in the 80s and 90s for about 10 years, 7 day weeks got too much so I sold up, late 90's did years in RACV roadside which was no major jobs just no starts, jumps, flats and lockouts and 2005 did roadside for Mondial on newer cars only so mostly jumps flats and lockouts Re the fuel pump, I used same method with start juice to test for spark, if there was no fuel and no fuel pump noise as you had next step is get owner to crank it while I get under the rear and using jack handle a few firm taps on the circular area underside of the fuel tank which is where the f/pump pick up is, the percussive effect can start a bad fuel pump, if it starts then the diagnosis is complete in about 3 minutes total and it needs a new pump. I leave relays and fuse etc testing for cases the tap on the fuel tank wont start the pump as they take a bit longer to test (10 mins) and getting paid per job time is money so that short cut might help. Likewise alternator not charging, a tap with the jack handle can loosen the brushes and get it charging enough for them to get to a garage and at least tells you its the alt and not fuses links or other faults that take longer to diagnose, again time is money. And the starter tap on a no crank you probably already know.
Don't ever take the owners word for it. Always look at the door tag to find the year or get a vin decoder app for your phone. You'd be surprised how many don't know the year of the car they are driving.
You are very honest and hard working this is coming from a subscriber that has been with you since the beginning. Thanks for sharing all the info and continued success with your venture!
You should consider investing in a quickjack system. Im sure you can wire it off your truck while the engine is running and run an extension cable if needed. It would provide you much more space under the car along with added safety

Once a vehicle is up and set with supports, I always block a wheel for extra safety. Enjoyed your video and learned a lot listening to you. Your work is super good, and no doubt your customers will stick with you.
You have concerns when is time to work on a customer car, but you advise them that in the process somethings may don't make it out in one piece. It will depend of the age and conditions of the car, brittle plastic or toasted by heat, rusted bolts and nuts. For example someone brings you a Ford Truck/SUV with a V8 Triton's Engine for a schedule maintenance or a misfire, Which it requires sparkplugs to be replaced and most experienced technicians know that one or more are going to break inside the engine Head and it will require more time, special tools and pro skills to remove the broken sparkplug/s, maybe none of them break, but you are going to be ahead by informing the customer of the worst case scenario and how much it could cost . 😬

I enjoyed the whole 43 minutes. Great video! I was a technician and fixed machines 2 years ago. Now I work with computers somewhat but I’m going into business. Never been my own boss like you until later this year cause I just got some money to invest from my dad. We’re gonna be partners even though he doesn’t his money back. He just told me to formulate a business plan and that he’s going to fund it. Not a day goes by without my dad telling that he loves me. Man I was born so lucky!
That is awesome!
@Alfred Ripley I just spoke to my dad’s friend who is a business advisor and accountant just like his wife. He already told me to try the markets I’ll be pushing before throwing money at it. Man he treated me like a son because I went there to help them unload some stuff for an apartment they’re fixing to rent. Things are just being handed to me. God is so good to this fool!! Wonderful great Jesus Christ.
We enjoy watching your videos, however, the music playing while you are talking, is very distracting and we feel takes away from the content and information you are trying to get across to your audience. Your videos aren't the only ones that do it. Maybe you & other creators could refrain from music during your content or turn it down so we can hear you over it. Just an idea.
Great set up me and my son need a set up like you have for. Doing our mechanic work on my son big rig KW C13 cat we do all our own repair on my son Diesel truck
You should grab one of those 20v leaf blowers, blow out under the car before you start working so you don't get as dirty! Just a thought! Love the videos!
Scrolled down here looking for this comment!
Thought the same exact thing!
Pick up some moving blankets from Harbor Freight and they'll cover the dirt and give a more comfortable spot to work in. Their very inexpensive for the big ones....especially when they're on sale.
Harbor Freight sells the blower for $ 50.00 cordless 😉
Yeah because the last thing he needs to haul around is a freaking leaf blower lol
Dude I don’t even know crap about cars nor do I even do any mechanic work myself but I just like watching you do it, very knowledgeable, legit didn’t even know mobile mechanics were a thing until I found your TH-cam by accident keep it up man 💯
I really appreciate your videos man. Im currently a mechanic for my uncles shop and getting completely screwed on pay. I always assumed that since i didnt own the shop that how it was but not anymore. As soon as im able to make the same or even slightly less from mobile repairs I'm cutting ties and and going completely independent. Thank you so much for these videos theyre such inspiration for someone like me who loves the work but hates the circumstances around the work.
That's right run with it free thinker haven't you ever wanted to tell your boss I want to do this or I want to do that with the place but he just wouldn't do it now look who the boss Is I think he'll listen LOL
I always like the camera view where you just see your arms. It reminds me of the old fighting n64 games. Lol
Gotta respect this guys abilities and to be able to work on the fly like this. I couldn't do this for the life of me!
You're doing a great service. Wish you were near my town. Try to remember to wear safety glasses whenever working under the car, from experience‼️😉😎👍🏻
Glad I found you, I get to learn how to diagnose my own vehicle at times
if u need a easy way to remember if u locked your boxes or not without having to check them before leaving? when the box is unlocked keep the key with you in your pocket or chain or something, and when the box is locked, leave it on top of the box. Works great for me
Im currently studying to be an Auto tech and eventually I would like to get to a point where I can do what you do! Being an honest mechanic feels so great and is so rewarding especially cause you get the most consistent and understanding customers! Great video! Subscribing!
Excellent video. I appreciate you sharing this. Thank you. 😊
My father and I have a mobile forklift mechanic service. Were full service anything from flywheel ring gear to hydraulic repacking
hey! fellow lift truck mechanic!
I can barely fix a sandwhich. You do good work...rock on!😊
Could be a bad ground to the fuel pump as well.
So they don't interfere with each other 😎👍
I had a mobile mechanic in Houston. He was vietnamese and he fixed out of his truck. Did great work.
You seem like such a good dude. I credit you for this so much as so many people these days lack compassion and the ability to treat others how they wish to be treated. I wish you the best of luck in life man. I hope you have a ton of success for you and your family. Take care brother.
I'm just starting a mobile/shop mechanic business and i appreciate your honesty because I'm trying to change the negative stigma of mechanics and it helps. I learned all my old school diag from my high school auto tech teacher.
You're business is awesome! I would like to suggest using wheel chocks as an added safety when jacking up a vehicle.
You provide such a great service to your community, you make things look so easy ,but I know better !
All explained very well.
Really good what you do for people.
Top video.

Thanks, you too!
Get home from work to watch more work. Understandable
Dude I don't know much about cars, but I'm proud of you. You seem like a stand up guy and a real good member of society offering a great service. Hell I wish you lived near me, but I can tell that you don't base on the mountains in the background
This is so cool man I didn't even know mobile mechanics were a thing, great content, subscribed!
I respect what you're doing I am a mobile mechanic myself try to get yourself a forced kerosene heater it will keep your truck warm and you can go in and out whenever you feel cold good luck
Dang $80 for a diagnostic is super cheap! Blessing to your community
@Kid Ko Prolly for a friend but I never heard of a shop only charging $80 for a diag. Especially now days.
I can't tell you how many times I've done diags for free lol.
@@c.o.p.civilian_on_patrol9754 Cool can you help with my car?
3 years late but whenever you put a vehicle on jackstands like that, especially when the stands are fully raised up, always chock the wheels still on the ground so the vehicle can't roll causing the stands to tip over. People have gotten killed because of this oversight. The best thing to do when using jackstands is to go bigger, 6 ton ones would allow a lot of room without having to raise the paws up so high, less susceptible to tipping over.
🎯 never trust that transmission park lever especially in an unknown vehicle which may have a worn out one.
Haven't been around lately but I'm glad you are talking about prices now. All the upgrades with the truck are nice! Keep at it
Excellent content . Looking forward to watching more videos .
Yea some people just don't get how organized disorganization works 😏👍🏾
I call it organized chaos
The most wholesome mechanic I’ve seen on TH-cam to date. Can tell he’s a hard working honest guy. Love the content, definitely subscribing because I love learning about cars even if it’s just through watching someone else work on cars. Keep it up!
Wow, thanks!
Suggest organizing van with labels for your tools & parts. Every advantage you can get on speed can help. Also suggest getting a rechargeable leaf blower to clean area under a car before working.
I was just thinking yesterday about Mobile auto repair and find this TH-cam video. I like cars. I really do. I always wanted to be in some way in the Automotive industry. I know cars. Took one apart at twelve. Come a long way myself. Autism should never stop you from being you and achieving your hopes and dreams.
U ought to look into quick jack... or another mobile hydrologic lift system like the scissor lift and a gas powered air compressor
I have so much respect for this guy. Honest, hardworking; owns a business, children, college. Great example of a man.
You never realize how strong plastic is until you’re trying to open something in a hurry
Stumbled on your video by chance Earnest watching you form the UK really enjoyed watching your day unfold love that old mail van you use it's huge compared to the mail vans we have in England keep the videos coming👍
Beautiful video brother very good motivation,I do the same in the city of new York I am the only mobile mechanic crazy busy every day
I love the Scenery and the Mountains in your town. Really nice. Be safe, Keep working hard, be happy, smile and stay blessed.
Thank you, I will
now so pretty when it's winter with snow on the ground and he's freezing his ass doing those same repairs!
Love to see the "Day in the life" videos. Give us a true prospective of what you have to go thru.
Dude... you had me at screenshot. 😁
Thanks for sharing dude, keep rolling
No disrespect, but being a mobile mechanic seems about as bad as I imagined it being. I hate rolling around on the cold, dirty ground working on my own cars at my own home. I can't imagine going to a strange location to work on someone else's hooptie, particularly to apartment properties where people might give you lots of grief for doing work in the parking lot. Feel like this is a job that would be infinitely better with a buddy/partner, but I get that the financials don't work out. Major props to you though, good sir. Subbed. Very interesting stuff.
I’ve been a mobile mechanic for 20 years and if you saw the cars I get to take care of you would probably want to become one yourself!

Oh yeah i have one! its great
This has got to be one of the biggest tips I've ever heard. Thank you so much, normally I use Rockauto for parts but that creates a wait time that some people aren't too fond of.
@@ninesixworm you have to spend a good chunk of coin every month to keep ur commercial status tho

Had a mobile mechanics business here in Aus in the 80s and 90s for about 10 years, 7 day weeks got too much so I sold up, late 90's did years in RACV roadside which was no major jobs just no starts, jumps, flats and lockouts and 2005 did roadside for Mondial on newer cars only so mostly jumps flats and lockouts
Re the fuel pump, I used same method with start juice to test for spark, if there was no fuel and no fuel pump noise as you had next step is get owner to crank it while I get under the rear and using jack handle a few firm taps on the circular area underside of the fuel tank which is where the f/pump pick up is, the percussive effect can start a bad fuel pump, if it starts then the diagnosis is complete in about 3 minutes total and it needs a new pump.
Seems peaceful working going around working on cars by yourself I'd enjoy that!
Thanks steve! I remember you from the beginning!

Your work is super good, and no doubt your customers will stick with you.
are you ever worried about breaking a customer's plastic trim pieces? such as the doorhandle trim
You have to be confident to be in the field . If your not . People don’t want you to work on they’re stuff
