  • In this video I show you how to stop your microwave from beeping so loud. My microwave does not have a silent function so I was forced to get into it and take matters into my own hands.

    I went through so many videos and long pressed every button on the microwave but still got no results. Finally came across this video that goes to the root of the cause, the vocal chords. I performed this surgery myself, opened it up and cut the vocal chord. The microwave will never beep again. Thank you.

    I recently purchased a new countertop microwave. It had an annoying very loud five beeps. It was so annoying that I would stop the oven before the cooking time was up. I found your video, followed your instructions and now I have sweet, sweet silence! A Big Thank You from me and my family!

      Had to chuckle at this because I also run to the microwave when my kids are sleeping to stop it at one second, feel like I’m disarming a bomb.

    Thanks for the inspiration to solve the exact same problem. Mine beeps for a full minute when the time is up. It could drive me mad. Opened the back and there is the very same evil little component. I took my tiny pliers, gripped it round its neck, squeezes, twisted and pulled. It is now lying on the worktop well & truly dead. I am astonished that such a little component possessed the ability to put me in a bad frame of mind and cause to me to scream. But no more.

      @@2small4theMall I don't understand the claim to safety. That's what Japanese claim. I think they're just too lazy to fix their designs. It beeps only when pressing buttons and when food is done and it's switched off. Neither gives safety.

      If he ran it without the panels there could be an issue with the magnetron and microwaves, but since he's just pressing buttons there is no harm. However if anyone is not accustomed to tinkering or taking electronics apart they should definitely not do this at all.

    • @shanu7uday
      @shanu7uday ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not really important. Kind of formality.. As long as we are not starting a cycle, we are good.
      As a matter of fact, to perform a audio test to identify the speaker, and performing the 'muffle' test, we DO need power to be ON.
      IF somebody is too scared, or less confident, then dont try this.

    Thank you SOOO much! And thank you to the other commenters who mentioned the inside is also high voltage even without being plugged in. The Emerson model I had, had the speaker facing the OTHER way so I couldn't even see it but I had an endoscope which allowed me to use a curved tooth scraper to get in there and remove the leads. SO HAPPY now I can run this thing without sound. Mine is from 2007 so I wasn't worried about it not working because it's already so old but this thing has worked flawlessly since I bought it new.

    Thank you! I followed your method on my GE model JES1145SH1SS manufactured June 2018, 950 watt microwave NOISEMAKER!!!!
    The tweeter in mine has wires that were difficult to access but I reached in with a tiny screwdriver and pried them out.
    And like a regular Torx screw is not security enough they gotta put in the ones you showed, Tamperproof Torx. Luckily I had a set of Tamperproof Torx Keys from the last electronic thing I "tampered" with. HA!
    Sweet silence, works great. Now... about the neighbors yappy POS dog.

    I'm thinking of doing similar on my microwave. However I want to put a switch between the positive of the beeper, then put the switch on the side of the microwave so I can toggle it on and off. I think I might even put a three way switch so I could put a resistor on it to possibly make a mode for lower volume. I also want to put a switch on it to turn my turn table on and off as well because I have square plates that can't turn and it just spins around and sometimes causes havoc in there, lol.
