Had no idea people didn't know about this. I always range from 60-80% for reheating foods. For something with a filling that'll get super hot, like a pastry or pop tart, I do 30%
Can you answer something - my *impression* of how microwaves work is that changing the power level doesnt actually change the microwave _intensity,_ . Using a reduced power level merely introduce intermitten non-power-like periods at regular intervals throughout the cooking process. So cooking for 1 min at 50% power is like 40 seconds cook time and 20 seconds non-cook-idle-time. Cooking for 1 min at 100% power the thing runs hot for the whole 1 minute. no interruptions.
Yes, the power level setting on a standard microwave will only vary the duty cycle ie. ON Time/(On time + OFF time) * 100 % = duty cycle % They typically will power on for like 5 or 10 seconds and then turn off for the same amount of time if it is set for 50% power level. However, advancements in microwave circuit technology have brought to market a new type of microwave called the inverter microwave! This type of machine has the capability of actually outputting a reduced power level continuously for the set amount of time. This is extremely handy for situations where you have a limited amount of power available for the machine to operate, such as an RV or maybe even a bedroom with other loads on the same circuit simultaneously such as a window unit AC and a refrigerator all supplied from a single 15A 120V circuit breaker... In those scenarios a standard microwave will trip the breaker even if you set the power at its minimum level but an inverter microwave will be able to run fine when set to a reduced power level 😊
My SAMSUNG microwave stopped working. It is turning on, plate is turning and light will come on but the timer WON'T count down; and food won't heat. Any idea what this could be? Thanks!
Well, I just tried it and I don’t know how to set it. I was able to press the button and change the level, but I could not set it at that level. It keeps on going back to 100%.
A working microwave won't give off any harmful radiation. You can even stand in front of an open microwave while it's on for a short period and be fine.
Dude your hair your beard the furrows in your forehead your cheekbones all of these features very strong resemblance to Liam Neeson. And until I heard your voice I thought you were his son. LoL. You could easily pass for a younger version of him. Ya know like if they ever had the film a younger version of him for like a flashback scene of one of his character's lives or something. Like if they wanted to do a prequel of the movie "Taken" and show how he acquired this specific set of skills. LoL.
Haha sounds good! I’ll take all those prequel roles: young Taken, young Qui Gon, young Ras Al Ghul, young Darkman. We can make a whole Neeson-verse of films 😂

Thank you!
i discovered this function a few months ago and now i use it all the time
Power levels are the same as turning on and off the microwave. They don't actually change the power, just how long its on or off.
Interesting.
I’d love if this was verified.
same as with an electric stovetop or electric oven
Inverter microwaves do adjust the power.

my insignia one is doing this exact problem, idk what the issue is
@@u05104 Someone mentioned the door switches as a possible cause, on another video I commented. I haven't gotten around to changing them yet, though
My Hamilton beach micro panel doesn’t lightup

The _STOP_ button! Prevents a tiny bit of radiation possibly.
And DEFROST button!

actually spot on 😂
Do we put it on 50% power you never did say
He said you need to try it out yourself and for you to decide what works best for you.
my microwave doesnt even have buttons
Ah yes, power level 50%: How to be depressed for twice as long while waiting for your poverty meal to cook.
Boy, that's a stupid reply.
