2nd movie : Anxiety takes over
Can't wait for the 3rd where Riley discovers social media and Anger takes over
Make way for alcoholism!
@@armelior4610 that would actually be kinda a fun movie
I want a well done hentai version with LUST
@@AntonAdelson Lust is not an emotion.
@@BadFluffy It sort of is, but it would be Desire, the opposite of Disgust. It is also a primal emotion, like the 5 first.
And if Anxiety and Nostalgia do fit the bill, Lust would not be that far off...
Inside Out 4: Riley gets diagnosed with clinical depression.
In inside out 1 didnt we already saw her going through depression?
Technically speaking she had depression in the first movie
Inside Out 5: Schizomania!
Depression gonna make a comeback @@Vanacloud
What happened to Inside Out 3?
Anxiety could have easily been just a normal villain that the emotions have to defeat. But instead, she's just a natural force that they have to learn to live with so that Riley can truly grow.
because anxity never loose
Wonder if Colinlookback will include her ?
I think you meant "cause you never loose anxiety"
@@LT-dn7mt emotions ate more complex and aren't one dimensional
Which is the right thing to do. Anxiety is an emotion, when it takes over that's when it becomes a disorder. We shouldn't get entirely rid of it because we need some extent of anxiety to help us plan for the future (we don't plan if we don't care and we don't care if we don't worry)
It's the same with Sadness from the previous movie. It shouldn't take over because that's depression but it also shouldn't be erased because forcing ourselves to be happy all the time is also bad for mental health.
The scene where Joy loses her temper is so striking. Not only is it well acted due to the range of manic shaking in her voice, but Anger's line of comfort is the perfect response to her pain due to his empathy and warmth.
Nope. It's just stupid. They jumped their own shark. Joy was already having too many emotions in the first movie but they had no idea what they were doing in that one
@@BadFluffy Bruh did you want a main protaganist to be happy all the time. Though from a character standard you are right from a entertainment perspective you just described an extremely boring and dull movie
Nah Joy is supposed to be about Joy, and other emotions are supposed to pick up the slack.
@@Asmo60540 the whole point of the first movie was that joy was the VILLAIN. it was about toxic positivity and how much it destroys your mental health to try and be happy all the time. yes, we want joy to always be happy, but we also want her to sit down and let the other emotions have some screen time.
how does AN EMOTION have empathy???

I can't wait for Inside Out 5, where Riley goes through a divorce
😂😂😂
She’d have to get married to even get divorced. 😂
@@georgeeastwood6930 she'll marry herself
🤣🤣
In a 0% sarcastic way, I genuinely imagined the story going all the way to Riley’s death. Headquarters closing down, all the emotions saying goodbye. The most important memories playing, and glad that her kids and grandkids can remember her. I’m not saying I want this, it’s just where my mind went.
I like how Pixar didn't make anxiety a typical villain and actually showed how a little anxiety cam be a good thing because anxiety motivates us to do stuff we don't want to do like studying for a test.
Anxiety isn't there to make you study for a test. And they got it completely wrong because anxiety is not an emotion, it's a physiological and emotional response to emotions like fear and worry. It would be like having "Tears" be a character.
Exactly what the person above said. Anxiety is NOT an emotion nor it is a "motivator"🙄 Also, many people genuinely love studying 🤷
We actually need a certain amount of stress to be motivated. Human psychology sure is a mind-f---
@@BadFluffythank you, these movies just blatantly lie to you about how emotions work

Is nobody gonna talk about how the movie starts with Joy suppressing the memories she doesn’t like. Exactly what she learned she SHOULDN’T do in the first one.
I mean, that tracks. Not learning from past experience is a huge part of the human experience.
She did learn though, she learned that every emotion is important and now gives them all, including Sadness, the chance to give Riley what she needs.
@@DanGamingFan2406 I get that, it’s just that it feels like an excuse to tell a story with the same lesson (like Incredibles 2).
it's easier to make a sequel if the main characters don't have character development or the character development is reset.
I mean, she's suppressing memories, which are more products of experience colored by emotions. Different, if slightly similar.
I suffer from crippling anxiety, and while I was really enjoying the movie, everything involving Anxiety and seeing her actions influence Riley and was so relatable. But the moment that hit me like a punch to the gut and got me at the edge of my seat the first time was when Riley's new sense of self was formed with those 4 words: I'm not good enough.
I have those same lingering thoughts every damn day.
A month before watching this movie, I had a feeling similar incident where I was not able to control my own anxiety and that scene showed me how it really feels like. I felt like that was one of the greatest moments in my life watching movies or TV series.
@@Hushedtie I've never had a panic attack or crippling anxiety, but I've known those that have, and in that moment I felt like I understood it better than I ever have before.
Yep.
That and everything frozen and moving fast at the same time
agree!! that was the perfect line to use.
In honor of the late James Earl Jones, please say "Everything the light touches is our kingdom."

This movie outgrossed The Lion King "live-action" and is now the highest-grossing animation movie ever by the way.
Friggin’ result! 👍
Lion King 1994 made $2,077,398,704.45 when counted for inflation.

Wait, wtf do you mean the shitty Lion King remake used to be the *highest grossing* animated movie??
@@tigrerojo9685 yes!
“Good emotions are out numbered 4 to 1”
Jesus Christ, the first movie was literally about how there’s no good or bad emotions. There are comfortable and uncomfortable emotions, uncomfortable emotions lead us to action and when not properly understood and managed lead us to making irrational choices. When properly understood and managed, they tell us when something is wrong so we can deal with them in a rational manner.
Sure.....but it's still pretty funny that Joy is the only emotion Riley has that objectively makes her feel good. At least until they let Nostalgia out of the basement.
issa yoke
Yeah, I know it was just a joke but it REALLY bothers me whenever people say that. Joke or not, it just sounds like they completely missed the point of both the first film and the second one.
"watching this instead of getting the work you need to get done today" Literally just called me out, hahahaha

Ironic:
Disney layoffs kept Vfx workers from mental health insurance...who worked on a movie about mental health.
"Jinkies! Where's Mindy?" A question that has been asked by a grand total of.....Nobody
If they got Mindy. The movie would definitely flop.
@@nikolaspapanagnou2723 If Lewis Black wasn't in it, it would flop harder than the borderlands movie
I sincerely doubt this movie would’ve flopped of these actors were either present or absent. They play such comparatively tiny roles that no one would kick up a fuss. This movie is literally the highest grossing animated film of all time right now. There’s no way two actors with small roles being or not being there would’ve tanked it.
Velma rwined the Scwwby Dww frwnchiuse…..!!!!

@@philipmarable8698 I'm not really that big a fan of the Scooby franchise, but I know that Velma completely shattered Mindy Kaling's reputation, or at least whatever was left of it
Anxiety turning Riley's imagination into an animation sweatshop where joy isn't allowed has so much symbolism that I'm glad Disney didn't cut out. I doubt they're that self-aware.
Ironic with the recent news about how the animators were treated on the film

@@justachannel5803exactly! I love it when they have DP in those ones.
They can't do a video upload on a movie that isn't released on streaming or blu ray yet. You know piracy is still illegal, right?
They have to wait for it to be home release for copyright reasons.
Something I'm surprised he didn't talk about was the scene where Anxiety was on the big screen commanding all the workers. I feel like he would be all over symbolism like that
Especially with today's news of this movie's hellish working conditions for the animators.
It’s literally a 1984 Apple Ad reference.
This trailer was basically egging on a good mental health awareness movie. Personally didn't expect that level of depth from the writers of this video given their past track record.

I felt sorry for those animators for not being treated well.

That’s why movies like The Boy and the Heron are just inherently better. It came from Japan, a country that respects traditions and treats its animators with the respect and honor they deserve.

And the tension between sadness and Embarrassment
Though that makes sense
Deadpool and Wolverine Honest Trailer
You know what would make a fun Honest Trailer? The Hangover trilogy!
but the trilogy itself wasn't even fun
"Did you?" Yes, she actually did. Joy let's all the emotions have equal say at the console now and has clearly grown a lot closer with Sadness. She even trusts her enough to sneak into HQ by herself and bring them back. There's making a joke, and then there's completely twisting crucial character development to make it seem non existent.
...she also immediately refused to aknowledge any of the new emotions, and actively removed any memories she didn't find "useful", which is also a pretty crucial plot point...
There is literally no "character development" in this movie that isn't already done in the first movie. They spend the first half of the movie destroying the development of the first one just to have to rebuild it again
Shame you guys didn't save this trailer for next week. You could've commented on today's news of Pixar employees' hellish working conditions while making this movie.
I was expecting a comment on how Pixar messes up with its employees' mental health by firing them before they get a bonus
Osmosis Jones deserves a retrospect.
Hunger isn't an emotion. It is a biological response. It's functionally no different than feeling the urge to urinate. 🤔
Anxiety is also not an emotion. It's a set of physiological responses to fear and worry, which are emotions.
True
@BadFluffy, technically, it’s an extreme form of fear

The Disney Plus development team. Yep! They can manufacture nostalgia for a project they haven't even started yet.
Big Man on Hippocampus is the name of an old Family Guy episode.
came here looking for this comment
I seriously fail to see how out of all the amazing films that Disney/Pixar has made, that this one is now the highest grossing animated film of all time
Movie tickets cost more, and there are fewer good movies to see at theaters. Also Inside Out 1 is universally beloved. Still a little surprising, but not that shocking.
Completely missed the opportunity to name Anxiety "Orange is the new whack."
I think Riley just thought she was cool rather than being in love with her.
100% agree. Idk why platonic relationships are so forgotten by Hollywood
Forgotten by Honest Trailers, you mean.
agreed! all girls entering middle school/high school want to be like the cool popular girl, nothing weird here
@@anisa2273yeah and having a crush isn't weird either
Exactly
3:00 "Hunger" is an emotion?
I could understand 'Hangry.'
Hunger’s not an emotion
I literally felt anxiety in the theater because it was SO RELATABLE. Fantastic job.
This was a very half-assed trailer until anxiety showed up.
Say, "The force is with you, young Skywalker. But you're not a Jedi yet."
I don't know where these made up names are coming from, but @ 5:23 you reference Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey in the Inside Out 2 Honest Trailer video, then we need to have a discussion about this.
There are lots of platonic girl crushes. Mine was Sara Conner in T2. Girls have a lot of layered emotions, usually at the same time. I wish they would stop glossing over platonic crushes because I think most people have them.
Honestly it felt like meeting your idol situation
Platonic, a word that everybody on social media should learn
"Looks at IGN interview". Right.
TIL the term "platonic crushes" lol
What Anxiety is really suprise used to bad News
4:35 how did you know
Highest grossing animated movie of all time? TAKE THAT, “LION KING” REMAKE! 🎉
Lion king 1994 made 2,077,398,704.45 when inflation is calculated
Inside Out 3 is going to be about Riley at 21 and she has an Only fans and the newest emotion is Depression, Sadnesses older sister, and she kills Joy in the first act.
I'm surprised you didn't mention any of the anxiety the filmmakers felt while crunching to make this movie exist.
Major props in my book for Inside Out 2 feeling like the only Pixar sequel that's come out this decade that feels like it justified it's existence by expanding rather than providing another small journey akin to "Finding Dory" or "Incredibles 2". Just a darn shame that all this success is gonna be hampered by another story of mistreatment for it's animators. Studios really do like making people feel bad for enjoying a successful animated feature. Still hate to say it, but Illumination does better on that end, at least.
Well said. EXTREMELY well said. It’s like the actual story what happened behind the scenes likes to punish you because you love a movie so much.
4:20 hilarious joke made this video immersive
This movie really encompasses my entire middle school existence. I really identified with Riley during her anxiety attack, when she repeated "I'm not good enough!"
Literally everyone had that moment repeatedly throughout their lives. It's not breaking any ground
Doesn't need to break new ground to be meaningful to people. Don't be cynical.
The problem is that this has open a pandora's box. When they make a sequel and given how much this earned they are gonna make a sequel are they going to keep adding emotions? How many times can we do the "add a new emotion that seems bad but we learn to accept" plot? Part of the reason the first movie was so brilliant was the 5 emotions they picked were basically umbrella emotions that all other emotions could fit under. What is En ui if not a type of sadness? What is anxiety if not evolved fear? By adding this latest batch it means all emotions should be represented and the ones that aren't become stranger and stranger. This was a pretty good movie but i'm worried that Pixar haven't figured out yet the problem this creates. By Inside Out 5: Insert depressing adult joke here there are going to be 50 characters running around Riley's head.
James Earl Jones deserves another week of tributes. Say, "Peace, love, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Please do an Honest Trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch!
So Riley can feel anger, sadness and anxiety but not empathy
She must be a nightmare to be around in a crisis especially if you need to ask Riley for any help
Empathy isn't an emotion. It's emotional mirroring. I don't know if this metaphor can handle a construct that powerful.
Wasn't that Sadness in the first movie?
@@ActuatedGear Anxiety is also not an emotion. It's a physiological and emotional response to fear and worry, which are emotions
@@BadFluffy none of the new "emotions" were not emotions at all.
@@ActuatedGear okay then how about
Riley must be a nightmare to be around because she cannot feel gratude, appreciative or compassion

I’m just gonna say it Pixar took huge inspiration from big mouth when they did this movie

Can you do a Honest Trailer about Spider-Man: The Animated Series?
Either they were really laying the jokes on thick this time, or they barley understand this film at all. I can't be the only one who feels this trailer isn't so honest, right?
Even I felt that they were too critical on the film when it did a great job.
What specifically are you talking about?
@@SpaceCond0rThem saying Joy hasn't learned anything, the "mixed message" with Anxiety, acting like Fear and Disgust's replacement VAs were sub par, it's all false.
Everything felt pretty spot on tho? Where’s the lie, they’re always hypercritical (barely ever mentioning the good parts of movies) that’s the whole shtick
The part about sadness was just wierd given the part she plays in this.
Please say "She sells sea shells on the sea shore; The shells that she sells are sea shells I'm sure."
IDK why I didn't expect a panic attack during this trailer.
They're not lying about anxiety,
They're leaving out the subplot where the father reads marcus Aurelius
No mention that Riley went to an ice hockey camp and was the only white person there lol
Dont feed the alt right gators.
We all want to finally stop to having to listen their constant whining over “forced diversity” “CRT” and “DEI” good lord people go outside and touch grass sometime.
Huh? 99% of the kids were white.
Well, it's San Francisco.
The ultimate anxiety was probably telling Pouchy to zip it.
Inside Out 2 is the only movie to date that I’ve seen in a theater outside North America, I watched it when I took a trip to London.
Loved the movie but the fact that Riley had a GREAT grip of her Anxiety only OVER A DAMN WEEKEND just really didn't sit well with me. hAhahahah
She didn't. She just got over that one problem. She'll have struggles for the rest of her life. That's human.
This was made before it came out that Disney did their absolute damndest to kill any sort of non platonic vibe between Riley and the other girl.
Well no. That's why they joked about it.
Regardless of how good Inside Out 2 is, I hate how much brainrot has attached itself to this film.

What kind of emotion would Riley feel if she knew that Pixar laid off their animators before the film released so they couldn't receive their bonuses?
Say “We have bio engineered his cellular physiology to create the ultimate human being”
This video seems unusually venomous 😅
especially with the IGN article, Disney needs to be ripped
Unfortunately, this means that Pixar will think that Sequels is the way to go now.
You think anything could stop them? They haven't had one hit with Star Wars since the Mandalorian and they're still churning out tv shows...
