Which is the right thing to do. Anxiety is an emotion, when it takes over that's when it becomes a disorder. We shouldn't get entirely rid of it because we need some extent of anxiety to help us plan for the future (we don't plan if we don't care and we don't care if we don't worry)
It's the same with Sadness from the previous movie. It shouldn't take over because that's depression but it also shouldn't be erased because forcing ourselves to be happy all the time is also bad for mental health.

The "I'm not good enough" moment, I'm sorry, it hit SO HARD. My heart broke.
Anxiety isn't a bad thing, it's a normal emotion. But when it takes control of everything, it's pathological. The movie showed it in a very clever way. At first, anxiety helped Riley to make right decisions, then she took control, she made all the scenarii and the "I'm not good enough", MY GOD. It hurts. So much. And the pains attack, it was great, like everything is moving fast but at the same time, you're totally stuck.
The movie was predictable in lot of moments, but anxiety was well made.

Major props in my book for Inside Out 2 feeling like the only Pixar sequel that's come out this decade that feels like it justified it's existence by expanding rather than providing another small journey akin to "Finding Dory" or "Incredibles 2". Just a darn shame that all this success is gonna be hampered by another story of mistreatment for it's animators. Studios really do like making people feel bad for enjoying a successful animated feature. Still hate to say it, but Illumination does better on that end, at least.

"Did you?" Yes, she actually did. Joy let's all the emotions have equal say at the console now and has clearly grown a lot closer with Sadness. She even trusts her enough to sneak into HQ by herself and bring them back. There's making a joke, and then there's completely twisting crucial character development to make it seem non existent.

    • @tigrerojo9685
      @tigrerojo9685 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

...she also immediately refused to aknowledge any of the new emotions, and actively removed any memories she didn't find "useful", which is also a pretty crucial plot point...

“Good emotions are out numbered 4 to 1”
Jesus Christ, the first movie was literally about how there’s no good or bad emotions. There are comfortable and uncomfortable emotions, uncomfortable emotions lead us to action and when not properly understood and managed lead us to making irrational choices. When properly understood and managed, they tell us when something is wrong so we can deal with them in a rational manner.

The problem is that this has open a pandora's box. When they make a sequel and given how much this earned they are gonna make a sequel are they going to keep adding emotions? How many times can we do the "add a new emotion that seems bad but we learn to accept" plot? Part of the reason the first movie was so brilliant was the 5 emotions they picked were basically umbrella emotions that all other emotions could fit under. What is En ui if not a type of sadness? What is anxiety if not evolved fear? By adding this latest batch it means all emotions should be represented and the ones that aren't become stranger and stranger. This was a pretty good movie but i'm worried that Pixar haven't figured out yet the problem this creates. By Inside Out 5: Insert depressing adult joke here there are going to be 50 characters running around Riley's head.

The second one triggered a big anxiety spike in myself with how damn relatable it was.. but it won't top the reaction it caused for me during the depression part in the first movie.. so that's why the first just edges the second in terms of rating

My idea for Inside Out 3:
Riley grows up to become an astronaut and Joy says “Bing Bong, I did it. I took here to the moon.” Or she’s old and has dementia, and her mind slowly falls apart, and each emotion fades away Infinity War style until it’s just Joy left, in Riley’s final moments.

    Hello Screen Junkies team!
First off, I love your channel and the way you bring humor and delve into the world of TV and film, especially in ways that get fans excited about hidden gems or underrated shows. I'm reaching out to you because there's a series that I think your audience might love, but not many people know about: Siren.
Siren is a unique blend of mystery, fantasy, and drama, with a focus on mermaids and mythology. It aired from 2018 to 2020 and built a passionate fanbase, but unfortunately, it was cancelled before it could wrap up all of its stories. I'm part of a movement of fans who are campaigning for the show to come back, and we think it has the potential to find a much larger audience, especially if more people knew about it.
Your Honest trailers and deep dive videos are fantastic for getting people interested in shows they may not have considered before, and Siren would be perfect for something like this. The show combines elements of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The X-Files, with a modern twist of mythological creatures, environmental issues, and human drama. I truly believe that if more people knew about it, they would get hooked, and your channel could be key to sparking that interest.
Would you consider making a video to introduce Siren to your audience, or even making an honest trailer about the show? Not only would it help us drum up support for bringing the show back, but it would also introduce a fantastic series to fans who love the kind of content you usually cover.
Thank you so much for your time, and I hope you'll consider giving Siren the attention it deserves!
    Best regards,
[sincerely, a fan who is also interested in Siren's return
