7:00 Frequent flyer. The better I get at guitar the more I find in old episodes. Had just finished the intro and need another beer. As I was retrieving said beer I though to myself, “I have got to get better at finding the sounds in my head.” Sometimes I hear chords and I just can’t find them. Not because it’s some sophisticated chord.(they are probably simple sounds for a lot of people to hear.) But because I don’t have that knowledge or vocabulary yet. This helps me chase down sounds I want to make. Brother I’m buying whatever you’re selling.
I’ve been a guitar player and music lover for for 30+ years and only twice in my life has something touch me inside like your intro. I literally had tears in my eyes without even realizing it. I’m late to the party here but so thankful I found your site. Inspiring
Hey Tom, man I had a weird dream last night..It was Rig-rundown but instead of guitars you were talking John Bohlinger through your magnificent collection of vacuum cleaners. “Hey man” says John, rubbing his chin, “Is that your new signature Dyson?”
In midst of all the chaos Tom is blessing us all with so much! He is a Shaman of sorts for sure. I am sure we will all remember this magical port in the storm. Thank you a thousand times Tom. You brighten my days brother!
Wow. Stumbled onto the video. Was looking for vids demo'ing the Duesenberg Multibender. Only video founds that really uses it in real world application. Beautiful opening tune. Also love the baby seat and kids toys behind the wall of amps. LOL! Very cool. Thanks for the video. I will peruse the rest of your video history. Take care. God bless.
This guy is too much. Not only is he a master guitarist and educator, he's like the cool brother I never had. Plus his wife is a major talent and a stone cold fox. This dude is living the dream.
Hey Tom, I think in these uncertain and confusing times you are bringing a bit of magic to the ole’ internet. I grew up outside of Pittsburgh in the bar business. My grandmother had a shot and beer bar, my dad had several bars and restaurants. I remember watching these 3- & 4-piece bands play. They didn’t have much equipment just guitars and amps and some spotlights on the floor, but man to a young kid it was magical. I can remember being a teenager and seeing The Dark Side of The Moon tour in 73. Pink Floyd was the first band to open the roof of the Civic Arena. Sitting under the stars and watching that band preform was pure magic, I can remember it like it was yesterday. I just want to thank you making some magic and keeping the shit real.

Duesenberg Session Man...can’t wait for that one! Yeah I remember Sister Hazel. I’m a UF alum and they’re some Gainesville, FL boys...very cool that you worked with them! 🎸🔥
Dude! It's Uncle Larry's Sunday morning church service! This was definitely better than listening to the tie wearing guy telling me to repent, I have started to see the light. Thanks man.
Man, that intro was beautiful🙏. You really stuck the knife in! I figured out one of the (many) reasons I love your playing.... you’re not a blues guy! I’m a blues guy, most of my heroes are blues guys. And then you come along on rig rundown, playing all different, like from a different planet. So interesting, so tuneful, unexpected twists and turns and chord changes. And talking about some English band, the Beatles (?) and something called “prog rock”, and a band called “Jenny-sis”? Well whatever that is, you bring some very lovely stuff to the party Tom. Thank you.
Hi Tom. I just want to say it's a joy watching you play...how you pull those notes out and make a song really speak. You remind me of Brian Wilson, those melodies are just the sweetest I think I've ever heard. Thanks for inspiring us...God bless you & yur family. Alan here from the Philippines...
DudeMan Tom I just found your HomeSkoolin channel and I’m so glad I did; you are sooo cool and laid-back in the best ways… I’ll be sticking around! I’m a bit of a guitar collector and guitar player wannabe; I’m stuck in the mud as a player but really enjoy watching and listening to great players; I’m not giving up.
Last week drove for 6 hours straight to Cape Cod listening to the Corona shows and others I missed. I love the guitar and music and I wish I had pursued it more earlier in life but your talks Tom are like music for my soul. Among other things, I love the diversity of your influences and playing. My main influences include John Denver, Jimmy Page, and Iommi.
As a bender player myself I loved this one! The song you play is definitely my favorite of all you've done to date - beautiful! You might consider having the Mrs. write some lyrics and sing it. I think we'd all love to hear that! Thanks for the lesson.
7:00 man, did I just learn something really cool! Thank you so much, Tom, for those gold nuggets in your videos. Watching them is time well spent! Cheers
Its monday morning here... destruction company starting in neighborhood their job, some dudes cutting the grass, phones ringing, text messages, facebook attacked me, children outsice sceraming, my dog want something, cats "muiaing" , tottal monday classic chaos from the morning ... but i have a button to freeze the world because TOM MADE NEW VIDEO :) pure genius stuff man! love that again.
Good afternoon from São Paulo (Brazil), uncle Tommy! This Duesenberg and your ideas brings joy to my ears. Thank you for the delightful tune on this sunday. All the best to ya!
Tom really digging the real deal human factor of your channel! Having 2 young boys & about your age can relate. Also have the same Bogner & Dig the Moserite. Have a 65. Keep up the rad videos!! 🍻☕️🎸🤘🏾
Got my t-shirt in the mail yesterday. Looks and feels great! Thanks, Tommy, for all that you do! You are the exact right thing at the right time for me. I grew up on rock 'n' roll and country, but discovered jazz when I was 16 and that was that. Just in recent years I've been heading for a major change and it's finally taking hold. Watching you and listening to you has been just what I needed. It's helping me get back to my roots. We're a similar age (I was born in '62) and I'm also from the Midwest. I relate to your playing and your influences, big time! Thanks a million!
Hey!, Hey!, Hey!, Hey!...Tom you are the Midnight Moses! I love the videos. Even though I'm a beginner and most of the content is over my head I still find them very entertaining. I think your low budget, one take production adds a real genuineness to your videos that keeps us coming back for more. Don't change a thing. Keep up the good work.
Revisiting some of these old vids. Funny to run into TTW and Plexisoul tunes. I love when hes rehashing it at the end and says 'thats a good lick'. Yes, Tom - it certainly is
Hey Tommy! I just need to give thanks to you. I’m a 46 yr old guitar beginner. My heroes have always been Gilmour, Page, Eddie, SRV, etc. Guitar has always defined the music I listen to. So picking up the guitar last fall and finally taking lessons was a huge deal for me. COVID obviously killed that though. So watching your channel and a few others like yours has gotten my learning through these crazy times. So thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Means the world to me. Stay safe man.
Hey, Tom - thanks for that. I can't fathom how every segment is unlike anything before in our 'Skoolin. One of my all time favorite guitarists is Robben Ford. I understand he spent some time in Nashville the past few years, and wonder if you've had any interactions with him, or thoughts on his playing or music.
Hey Tom! I am now addicted to your show. I feel like I've learnt so much from watching. I've felt like I've been stuck in a rut for a few years just playing the typical cover band set lists. You have lifted me up and I'm practising new techniques every day! Thank you and please keep the show going forever!
When I played we ended up on the same label as Sister Hazel. Those guys are awesome too be around and Ryan is one of my favorite players. I guess I can thank you for some of the tones on Fortress that got me into them and Matchless. amps.
God that is beautiful, Tom! I have the same disease : I can hear Roy Orbison or Tom Petty most of the time in my head with the reverby drums in the back. That draws me to play. I feel you, mister!

I know he’s the session man. But I also know I’d buy his own record in a heartbeat.
And now you can!
And it’s awesome

I'm so happy that went on the record! One of my favs from the album. Pure class, every note.

I loved the music on the intro. Mission is to now get it under my fingers.
Awesome opening music! Don’t worry about missing days, everything you post is a gift.

Wow, this is the perpetual progression, never ending continuing chords.
Thanks for musical inspiration over these dire times.

Thank you Tom!! What a beautiful piece!!
Nothing better than having a coffee and watching some good ol homeskoolin! Or a beer if it's a late morning... Much love from Canada.
Hey Tom! Just wanted to say thank you, you are awesome! I have reconnect with my guitar after 15 years and you are inspiring me to keep going.
Duesenberg Session Man...can’t wait for that one!
Yeah I remember Sister Hazel.
I’m a UF alum and they’re some Gainesville, FL boys...very cool that you worked with them!
🎸🔥
that intro is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard on guitar...
absolutely! stopped me in my tracks
Your absolute best intro playing yet. Raw emotion and flawless feel.
Dude! It's Uncle Larry's Sunday morning church service! This was definitely better than listening to the tie wearing guy telling me to repent, I have started to see the light. Thanks man.

The opening music is so freaking phenomenal I listened to it 3times before I got past it lol. Thanks for your time your videos are awesome
Birth of my favorite Trip the Witch track. That tune is magic.
That was absolutely beautiful...
Watching for the X # of time....THANKS BUK!!!
Could listen to you play all day....
Hey Tom you need to get in touch with the guys from that pedal show. Just echoing a shout out sent. Loads of love from the other side of the pond.
Man, I really loved that intro. Just beautiful. Made me wish that you and Sarah would put out an album together.
When you can make a guitar sound like two people playing you know you're onto something....DAMN!
Leo Kottke sometimes soounds like 3 people playing...and he's in his 70s.
It's just absurd what he can do with a guitar.
I've never thought anyone could play such good sounding music like that on a 6 string Tom, the bends etc and tone..........just great!!
Amazing tone and the best use of a palm bender ever!!!!
Just went to church with T.Buk! I heard & felt the light. Praise the playing & tone. Happy Sunday. Thank You. Peace
Powered through all the videos in the last week or so. Thank you much!
Glad to have you back Tom. Your just a cool guy who happens to play the guitar like magic. Enjoy your show, thanks.
Hi Tom. I just want to say it's a joy watching you play...how you pull those notes out and make a song really speak. You remind me of Brian Wilson, those melodies are just the sweetest I think I've ever heard. Thanks for inspiring us...God bless you & yur family. Alan here from the Philippines...
Hey Tom, thanks for sharing some of your Sunday with us!! Very inspiring stuff your playing
The ascending pattern at 2:38 reminded me of the theme song from Twin Peaks
Falling - julee cruise in case anyone is interested!
Man I missed all you guys!
Felt like an eternity, didn’t it??
DudeMan Tom I just found your HomeSkoolin channel and I’m so glad I did; you are sooo cool and laid-back in the best ways… I’ll be sticking around!

That level of smoothness is only obtained from thousands of hours of playing. Sounding Great as always! Thanks for the inspiration.
Beautiful opening piece Tom. My dad passed at 95 in arly April. June 14 is his birthday. This helped.
I come back to this from time to time - it's like a reset for my frame of mind. Allows me to moisturize my eyes. Naturally! You da man, Tom!!
such a great player... wow....🙏🏼🙏🏼
The time you described working at those benders was time very, very well spent. . Just beautiful. Thank you TB.
The version of this that ended up on the trip the witch record….. wow man
Worked most of the day around the house then came in to find a new post from Uncle Larry just great 👍. Thanks Tom
Perhaps the most melodic guitar work I have ever heard !! Not to mention the complexity and flawless execution !!!
Fantastic as usual!
That intro piece is some of the most inspiring playing I’ve heard recently. Keep doing what you do Tom.
Hey man. I know it's been a few months but this ended up becoming a fully fledged song on the Trip The Witch album. Look it up. It's amazing 👍🏼
Man...I needed this so bad today. Thanks Tommy !

As a bender player myself I loved this one! The song you play is definitely my favorite of all you've done to date - beautiful! You might consider having the Mrs. write some lyrics and sing it. I think we'd all love to hear that! Thanks for the lesson.

That piece you played is so soulful. I heard a sad but sweet memory with a little hope looking forward. Very moving.
