It was just the other day that I worked on a repeating grey/dark gray and base white cammo pattern to wrap a Jimny in ... one day, soon. Having worked on a repeating vector pattern that can be printed on vinyl, my tip is that the base colour of the pattern should match the colour of the vehicle. That way, scratches and any breaks in the vinyl would be less noticeable.
I have been saying for some time that the profession of auto-spray painter is set to become obsolete since in future most vehicles will be painted at the factory in a uniform base layer with the purpose of being wrapped in a design of the owners choice and where they can change the customised appearance of the vehicle as often as they like.

I had my Jimny's standard fuel tank replaced with a Des Sol's 80l fuel tank. Driven back from Pinetown to Midrand with an average fuel consumption of 11,7 lol. No more wondering if I will be reaching the next filling station. Did 811 km with 10 liters of fuel still in the tank.
@@hugovanniekerk1540 makes a lot of sense to me to have decent range in the Jimny when overlanding, especially in remote areas where fuel stations are scarce. 🤙🏻😁
Great vid. Love the smaller rack. What do you think of the 3/4 front runner rack ?
The 3/4 will also be a good option , if you dont need a full rack.
Hi Raymond, I understand why you have moved the rack to the back to help with wind resistance, but wouldn't it be better when loaded to be further forward to spread the load over both axles?

Hi John , keeping the load as light as possible on the roof rack , so it does not really have an impact. Fitting it in the middel also complicates loading , and you may end up scratching your roof , where at the back , loading is easier and chances of scratching your roof is less.
For the roof rack do you recommend the tall version (I think it is to fit a table) or the lower version? Thanks for your channel.
Hi Victor thanks for the support , go for the low version , less wind resistance , than the tall version that can fit the table underneath.
Any thoughts on 30mm Bloxsport Wheel Spacers for a Jimny?
Hi Chris as mentioned in previous videos , not a fan of wheelspacers🤣. I feel its another point of failure you are creating on a very important component , your wheels.👍
Will heat from the engine bay not affect the vinyl? The paint on a standard Jimny is heat resistant, though in forums there has been discussions about faded paint and whether to apply thermal insulation to the inside of the bonnet cover.
I think the 3M vynil is heat resistant , Ink monkey have used this on many racing cars and have not had problems , I believe the cheaper vynils will have issues with heat from the engine bay.
@@justjimny I know for a fact that cheaper vinyl has problems with heat, even sunlight is often over the tolerance of cheap vinyl.
Hi guys, just a quick question i ordered the door handles covers n noticed the 2 way sticky tape does not hold very well
I did ensure it was cleaned n dust n grease free before fitting on any suggestions, please, on how to get it stuck for good
Also, the bumper n tyre arch is black plastic. Any suggestions on keeping black hate to put silicone on it

The best double sided I have come across is the black thin automotive double sided tape . On keeping the bumpers and arches clean , I never bring silicone close to them , sucks the dust into your plastics , so I just wash them regularly with dishwashing liquid.

Thanks , yes a full wrap at a decent installer does cost alot , but always worth while if its going to last , and comes with a warranty.

Hi Raymond. Just wondering why you aren’t using the De sol rock sliders anymore? I’m keen to buy them but will hold off if you don’t recommend them.
I never had the Des Sol rocksliders , but I am thinking to install them once I saved up some money again , I think they are well designed and will be a good purchase.
Hi Raymond, i was wondering what the total height of the jimny is now with the rack, lift kit and tyres? i want to make sure i can still fit in my garage. hard to gauge the height compared to you! haha. thanks mate
I would say if you have 2m+ , it should clear no problem. I can give you exact measurements but it will differ between cars since there are small differances like , how much suspension sagged , tyre pressures ect. Hope this helps👍
HI did front runner modify the roof-rack for you?
Armand from Weca Centre Centurion did it for me , if you have a decent saw you can probally do it yourself , you just cut the 2 side bars to size and refit the slats and front corners.
How is the wrap holding up? Does it affect your insurance cover now that the colour has changed?
Hi Fred , my wrap is still great no shrinking or fade at all , and I got a 3 year warranty on it since its 3M vinyl. Insurance has no issues with the wrap since it protects my paint.
Can you recommend an installer in Gauteng for the Des Sol Radial Cup Protectors?

Hi Raymond, got our Jimny on our 28 Wedding Aniversary....great vehicle but I need your assistance wrt the 40mm Tough Dog suspension lift kit....the front suspension was done but the rear not....this feels bad when driving......The fittment guys, XTerra in Windhoek can't get hold of the rear coils for the next 2 weeks....really??? This is not acceptable... can you please link us up with some-one whom can assist....
@@siegfriedschulte9085 Hi Siegfried , rather wait for the full suspension , before installing it , the handeling will be horrible. You can make contact with Koba from Opposite Lock they are the importers of TD suspensions.+27834765960.
@@justjimny Thanks Raymond for your feedback....really appreciate. I have forwarded your message to both Auas Delta in Windhoek as well as XTerra in Windhoek whom the recommended to do the fittment. I will keep you informed as these Jimny's in Windhoek are popping up in every corner!!
