For people like me who suck at execution, there is an alternative for 1% less damage to the midscreen combo: f213 bd2 b3 ji2 f213 bf3. It doesn't side switch which also can be an advantage.

Dink, I’ve been watching your firestorm gameplay videos and I’ve realised you end your mid screen combo differently now, could you share the new notations?
I thought the Def stat only applies when the opponent is blocking? Everywhere I have read, Def just decreases the damage you take when you are blocking (chip damage). Is that not true? I always assumed Hp was the best defensive stat.
Hey dink, why do you go into the corner combo with only two options? I get that it's a 50/50 but is poking or throwing a viable option? Is there something to do with the frame data that makes the forward 3 and molten trap better after a knockdown?
0:05 for some reason after the back 3 and I'm under the opponent, it won't let me cancel the standing 3 into the atomic burst. I can do it easy no problem any other time. The inputs just aren't going through I guess after I do the back 3
HeroicIntellect D-pad feels weird at first, but it does help with specific directions and muscle memory keeps things easy (at least from my experience).
James Rivera I've played him since launch and honestly, you'd be surprised at the amount of power the molten trap has over Omar of the cast and how his fire charge helps with his zoning. I have never had any losses to characters like superman because his charge can completely shut down any air zoning and the lava burst stops the ground zoning. Pair that with great damage, anti airs, and useful as hell trait and he's pretty damn great
Cool! Got someone good to talk to ha. Okay, well I have a few thoughts about those points. 1. First molten trap is WAY to slow compared to other moves to "counter" ground zoning. Does it Zone? Yeah but it doesnt really counter. In a FIRST to damage battle, it kinda will always lose. His charge is really good to zoom across the screen so i thought that would be powerful so thats good to stay away to shut down "canarys" or just get damage. But I believe he can be hit out of the air by a projectile on start up or in the middle(?)or so so as long as that gets beat out, thats exactly what we must consider in PERFECT circumstances. 2. Superman is what you would call a "All-Around Character". He's not really considered a zoning character so imo it doesn't really count. (Evidence of that would be Sups all-around normals and good zoning unlike FS's bad normals). 3. Everyone keeps saying his damge is good. His damage is regular! Decent characters in this game are getting average 35-45%(!!!) on their big combos unlike Injustice 1. So the damage game has heightened. With firestorm, his normal's are so bad that if your trap gets shut out by another zoner's projectile you get NO damage. nada. No combos, no nothing. And let's be honest about his trait. Im hearing hype hype. Ive seen NOTHING decent from his trait yet. Too much work for little reward. Wacha think?
James Rivera Well to your first point, getting hit by maybe 2-3 specials at mid to full screen would be worth it for a 40 or some odd damage combo if they get hit by the trap, and the threat of a meter burn can help you to lock someone down and scare them from pressing buttons. A way to use his dash would be to get full screen and then just use it mid air, where most projectiles won't go and it's fast enough so that if you play your mind games well you won't get anti aired, but maybe that point is just for us non-tournament players. Second, I get what you mean, but I was just trying to use a person who people maybe could get zoned out by at least a little. The two characters that he has almost no answer for is Black Adam and maybe Deadshot if you're off your game a bit. I'd love to see some tech against BA (please!!!!!) but so far I'm just getting utterly bodied, that's probably a personal thing though. And to your point about the damage, I think it's pretty damn good for damage off of things such as anti airs and the aspect of getting around 32 percent from a full screen "anti-zoning tool". Finally, the trait, while utterly useless for gaining health, does some great things for you about 3-4 times a game on average. The damage over time on some specials like charge even works on block and the damage of his lava trap is pretty damn good with it as well. The use of the back 2 as a launching overhead and the other string (I forgot what it was but it's like a high mid low I think) launching can catch people who don't fully know the strings and haven't fully studied the character in depth. I think he's a great character, but I think I get why you think he's not that great of a character. He seems to have a low ceiling compared to characters like BA and others in the cast and may not have the tools to thrive past maybe even the first half of the game's life cycle unless we can find some hidden tech. In the second half of these nether realm games, the higher up people such as sonic or scar seem to focus more on relentless pressure, God-like setups and mixups, or impenetrable defense to let the player hang themselves. Firestorm has none of that really, so I think his lifespan might be shortened based on his tools, but I enjoy the way the character plays as of right now because of the lack of tech in the game.

So basically, with other characters I actually believe that about the cycle but I get the feeling he will only get better....just that others will get BETTER then him. Good talk. ;)

Another good combo that can be done and it causes a reset and is pretty good on damage
F213, BD2MB, (dash in), B3, JI3, F133, BD2
keep making Injustice 2 combo videos. They have been helping me improve my game. I was trash but now I'm decent. Hopefully I can get good.
