  • In this video I review how to choose the Best Table Saw Blade for your woodworking projects.
    In most workshops the table saw is the most important woodworking tool so selecting saw blades for the table saw is crucial in getting good results in your furniture making and DIY projects whether it's ripping blades, crosscut blades or trimming baldes. These saw blades can also be used on the mitre saw.

      The Freud Fusion is an excellent choice for a combination blade. Forrest makes a good combination and so does Ridge Carbide. Ridge Carbide is kind of a small company, but manufactures great blades.

      You will find that a lot of branded tools use generic blades that offer very poor quality. The only companies in my opinion that offer good blades in all their products is Festool and Mafell.

    My favorite is a 60 tooth for everyday use. We are renovation contractors and these blades seem to give is consistent cuts for a variety of materials in either rip or cross cuts. We put 10” 60T blades on both our miter and table saws.

    I bought a cheap table saw, and also a mitre saw. Changing the blades from standard to better ones made the machines 100% better. Turns out they supplied the machines with 40 tooth blades, gone for ripping lumber for framing but for cutting plywood was awful. New ones are 84 tooth blades which is great for ply. Loving the channel Colin! 👍🏻

    WOW ! What a great video. I never realized one should change blades when going from a rip cut to a cross cut. I always used a 60 tooth one blade do all. When it started to burn or smoke I knew it was time for a new blade.
    Barry G. Kery

    • @azmike1956
      @azmike1956 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Barry, sometimes if the blade causes smoking you should try cleaning the blade, make sure you're not using a crosscut blade for ripping, be sure the material isn't pinching the blade & the material isn't being pushed sideways because it's bowed or twisted. I hope this helps.

    Great video and thank you for such practical information with real examples. I appreciate and hope to see more videos in a similar format for various tools, concepts, and techniques. I'm certainly not a professional woodworker, and all these years I never knew this about the blades. I am now equiped with information for better quality cuts. As with most tools, they rarely come with detailed descriptions about the features and even less in the form of examples, assuming that those who purchase them already know how to use them. Speaking of which, one day I'll learn how to sharpen my band saw and circular saw blades, chainsaw blades, and drill bits.

      Hi, I am new to woodworking and just purchased my 7 1/4 Dewalt Circular saw and been looking for the best blades. Would you mind telling me which Combo blade you think works the best? Ive been looking at the diablos. The 24, 40, and 60 tooth to be exact. Im looking for something decent that will cut plywood but will also make really fine clean cuts when Im making furniture. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
