    Thank you very much for this. Husband changed it tonight and the oven is working. Saved us from replacing our 2 year old cannon oven.

    Thank you so much for this video. I now know what to do and save myself a lot of money. Goodness knows how much a workman would charge for this !

      Thanks for the great feedback. It's not a difficult job but don't forget to switch the power off first 😁

    Just replaced a hoover fan element, pretty much identical to this video. Only slight nightmare was that the mounting holes in the new element plate were too small to allow the self tapping screws to pass, so had to drill them out a bit… but the spade connectors were such a sod to get on I decided to drill it whilst inside the oven box 😬😂

      That must have been a challenge 😂

    Brilliant video, only difference on my oven is that the element plate was screwed in from the other side so I had to take the back off to unscrew it and replace with the new element. Somehow I always have the slightly more annoying models lol

      Thanks Michael. It's always more satisfying when you complete an awkward job. Well done 😃

    Hi ted. I have a lacuno double oven (built in) , the element around the fan does not heat up, fan, light and other elements work fine. If i remove the cable from the element and connect another lead direct to mains from the element , it works fine , any ideas. ??? Your videos are helpful

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Raymond. Have you tried cleaning the clips and spade connectors where the element is connected to the supply? If these are dirty or corroded it will reduce/stop the current through the element.

      @@bigtedshome . Thank you ted. Yes ! If i test the contacts when it is connected in the oven power is indicated on the pos and neg ( grey and double white )but no heat.

      @@bigtedshome ted. In my first comments i should have added , i removed the element from the oven and introduced a lead from the mains to the element ...worked fine !

      @bigtedshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Raymond Hamilton-cooper Logically, if you have power to the element and if the element works ok on a separate circuit, then I would expect it to be one of the connections that is the problem.

    My oven doesn’t heat up on the fan setting but works using others. (The electric tripped one day and it stopped heating.
    What are the chances it’s just the fan element I need to replace?

    My ovens fan is spinning but not heat is coming on. Hobs are working and so is grill/top oven
    My oven tripped the switch when I turned it on. Flicked the switch back on and seemed fine but not heating up. Sounds a little bit rattley too

      @@TheBeautygirl13 it sounds like the element in the bottom oven has gone

    I think I need to do this with my oven, would the fan not spen if the element has gone? the bottom oven of my unit nothing is happening, the top oven works normally - or could that be a different issue?

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like something different if nothing is working in the bottom oven. I would check if the two ovens have separate fuses first

    • @ourtwotube
      @ourtwotube 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@bigtedshome remarkably I sorted it by setting the cooker's clock, the circuit had tripped, once the clock was set it worked as normal

    My cooker tripped on the main fuse box and then wouldn’t warm up when I turned it back on. Could it be anything else or definitely heating element

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it tripped the circuit board, it sounds like the element has gone. If you have a multimeter, you could do a continuity test on it to confirm this. One thing to try before though is to make sure the oven has come back on in manual mode. When the power is turned off or trips out, my (very old) Belling oven goes into timer mode needs to be reset into manual before it can be used.

    I've changed the element and the thermostat on an indesit electric oven,still not warming up 🤦🏼‍♂️ I'm stumped

      They are the 2 most likely faults. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer for advice?

      @JJJH93 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bigtedshome no,I bought it five years ago so I'm guessing it's had it use. Without spending a ton more cash finding the fault I'm just gonna cough up for a new one 🤦🏼‍♂️ after so much money it gets to a point of not being worth it unfortunately

    Oven element stopped heating and so did the top element but the rings work? Any idea

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a multimeter you could try continuity testing both elements.
