    Not a particularly insightful video, I'm afraid. The information is available on their website and their guidance indicates, one for body (korrosol) and one for wheels.

    Wouldn't the best test be to apply as the makers of fall--out removers intended, i.e. after you've washed the wheels? Then look for actual bonded materials to test, rather than testing on road grime that is removable with a simple APC.

    I sent peter hamber a email regarding this very thing having used the korrosol for a long time now, the only real difference is the autowheels has a slight bit thicker viscosity to allow better cling to the wheels, where as the korrosol being a dedicated fall out remover is designed to run off slightly to allow easier wash off with your water medium of choice...nice review....i'm biased anyway i love their products...the surfex hd is my fav, not just because the car side but my upvc cills on my windows needed a good clean quick swill off then a little bit of the apc sprayed on to the cill agitated with a soft brush and hand on heart they looked cleaner than new...also made sure i gave the cill a good swill off with water after....cheers for the video.

      You love their products cause Bilt Hamber stuff is top notch.
      The only reason I almost never buy BH products is that I can find cheaper options where I live, otherwise it's the best choice.

      I asked them the same question a couple of years ago and was told the same exactly. korrosol slightly cheaper and its what i buy in 5 litre tubs.

    i would just say that doing a back to back comparison of two products for cleaning wheels you should do it on both front wheels rather than front and rear they may have been more of a subjective difference

    • @tsdetailing833

    Surely, BiltHamber state that Korosol is for fall-out over the body/paintwork area and AutoWheels is for the ... wheels..?? If one product would do both jobs in a satisfactory manner then *why* would they produce two products...?? If there's a difference in consistency between the two products then, again, BiltHamber will have done this for a valid reason..??
    There's another channel who advocate applying a soap-wash to the body/paintwork before applying Korosol but do Bilt Hamber advise this in their instructions..??

    For me it seems obvious, it's on the big blue lable. One is for wheels and NOT paintwork and the other can do both. So is auto-wheel a waste of time, i would say yes if there is no noticable difference in the cleaning power.

    Thanks for the video. Did you do anything with the remaining black marks on the BMW wheels, (iron fallout embedded on surface) after the first application and rinse? For example, give it another go with the auto wheel product and more agitating with a stiff brush?

  • @byrne1916
    @byrne1916 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Viscosity is only difference. Detailers say you can dilute the auto wheel a little if you want to throw it on paint.

  • @stuartmiller7419
    @stuartmiller7419 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When you say 'there has to be some sort of difference', I would argue that, with no visible difference, the only difference is that the Bilt Hamber marketing department know that having two distinct products for panels and wheels (instead of one) tends to increase their sales. Think I'll stick with Korrosol for both uses. Great product but smells disgusting and makes your whole storage area smell disgusting too. Thanks for the review.

    • @olenorgren7915
      @olenorgren7915 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you read the MSDS you can see they are practically the same product, only difference is Korrosol has 5-15% surfactants and Auto-wheel has 15-30%. The Iron "eating" compound is the same concentration in both. So Auto-wheel is a better all purpose cleaner, better for degreasing, which makes sense since its supposed to be used on wheels.

    • @NoNonsenseJohnson
      @NoNonsenseJohnson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stuart Miller the difference I believe is the viscosity of the wheel cleaner being slightly thicker to better adhere whilst the Korrosol is designed to run off and therefore slightly less thick.

  • @59CommandoLee
    @59CommandoLee 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For clarification: Auto wheel and Korrosol are chemically the same, accept Auto-wheel is more viscous (therefore able to cling to vertical and inverted surfaces for longer) and it also has detergents in it, as wheels generally are exposed to a more harsh environment. Both are safe to use on ALL painted surfaces.

    The problem I have with any of these type of product reviews is, how much cleaning is done by the product itself? I can't help thinking most of the grime is removed purely by the action of the brush and pressure washer.

    its just a good way to overprice one so people think the other is a bargain then all rush to buy whatever is cheaper! in theory you should just buy the cheapest one in 5ltr and fill up a ik pump sprayer and use on whole car.

  • @jim6751

    Hi, with the Korrosol I guess this is used to remove all contiminates including brake dust, iron particles, tar. Is that correct?

    • @TKudsi
      @TKudsi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      opposite. it's the Auto Wheels which has added degreaser and other ingredients (hence the increased viscosity). Korrosol was intended purely for body panels (but this is pointless, just dilute autowheels and use on body)

  • @STP.07

    While they effectively do the same job, removing embedded metal particles that cover both your wheels and paintwork, they are still different products.
    Auto Wheel is a very strong product that’s a much higher viscosity, meaning that you don’t get as much “coverage” as you would with Korrosol. This means auto wheel will also cling to the paintwork for longer.
    Whereas Korrosol is specifically designed for use on every auto body paint finish (including lacquers). Offering a wider, less targeted solution that’ll cover your vehicle quickly and easily.
