Very interesting to see such a close race from products that work quite differently. Also a great vid of *multiple* real world comparisons, rather than just having just one to draw conclusions from. Fantastic job!

Autowheels is one of those products that will will probably never be beaten. I’ve tried so many wheel cleaners and BH just does the job perfectly.
It's definitely the high water mark isn't it? Interestingly I think on a dry application (and given the right environmental conditions) Iron Oxide can best it, but that's quite a lot to ask for in my circumstances whereby I am mobile and working outside. I do generally find that Auto-wheel gets the best results of you pre-rinse and give a quick blow dry ) to remove a big portion of any standing water). That's not their instructions for best results though, they say a dry application.
Really good review, throughly enjoyed it. I'm sure there is a lot more we could do in the future with Iron Oxide and improving it.

Thanks 👍 I can imagine the usage context makes a huge difference, which is why I made sure I mentioned, if it's a draw with - what I find to be - the best reactive wheel cleaner on the market (besting it in some situations, losing out in others, and all marginal) then I think you've done incredibly well.
The next test will be as a fallout remover on paint....I just need a really contaminated light coloured car to demonstrate it....and that's proving tricky! 😂
Iron oxide is a fall out remover auto wheel is just a wheel cleaner. Bilt hammer says Note: It's important not to confuse the colour-changing properties of Auto-Wheel with that of Iron Fallout Removers; Auto-Wheel is very much a wheel cleaner only, Bilt Hamber Korrosol takes care of iron removal duties.
I'm not sure where you've seen that on Bilt Hamber's product description, but it isn't on the description for Auto-wheel bilthamber.com/product/auto-wheel/
The active chemical in all these bleeding cleaners, be they fallout removers or wheel cleaners that do it, is thioglycolic acid. This is common to all these products.
Auto-wheel has added surfactants in it, as does GT Iron Oxide. Korrosol doesn't, it's just a focussed fallout remover that's far thinner, which helps in its task of fallout removal on paintwork as it can flow around.

I've never tried BH and have only used GT. As a weekend warrior I did find that GT was slow to react but I was advised that if it's being used on paintwork as part of a deep clean then use decon over the top to keep it wet. As you would have decon in your bucket for the decon and as a clay lubricant use it when applying IFO aswell. The car has to be rinsed so why not use a bit more decon shampoo. Hope that made sense mate 👍
It does indeed make sense. Just feels like a a work around to a problem that doesn't exist with Korrosol/Auto-wheel, ya know? But you're absolutely right, doing the process you're describing, it can work.
I always dilute the Auto Wheels 1:1. It makes it more economical and still does a great job.
I've found that I use Autowheel about once a month instead now, and just use the rinse less wash I'm using on the wheels, or a bit of Billberry at 10:1 or something - many ways of skinning that cat isn't there, and none are wrong either, which is handy. I find a lot of my customers who are on a monthly cycle tend to need the fallout remover and the full strength detergent in Autowheel, but that's not the case on my personal vehicle.

My weekly routine on my wheels is Sam's wheel and Tyre cleaner which I rate very highly, in a foamer, agitate, then followed with 50ml of GT wheel shampoo in a bucket of water with EZ wheel brush. I've found this way I only need a iron fallout every 3 months. But like you said, it's whatever you've found that works for you.

Just to add that I do this, too. 50:50 works well and is a bit more forgiving than using neat. I use deionised water for the dilution, FWIW.
I'm another one 50/50 diluted auto wheel on well maintained wheels. That's roughly £9 ltr, not sure that can be beaten for value for money and effectiveness.

It's so close that I have no problem recommending it. You definitely need to leave it to dwell longer for it to really work on the fallout, closer to 10 mins, but in that time it arguably does more than Autowheel does before it's saturated and stops reacting (which is about 5 mins).
@@SuperchargedLlama As a side note, because of the powerful detergents in the formula you can actually also clean tyre walls with Iron Oxide. As we said on the phone, its designed to give a more 360 degree clean especially when worked in.

Good review. Been using BH and very happy with it. I have some GT products already and will be trying some others. Value I got out of this review was a decently impartial comment on GT as a brand and seem to cut through any potential brand halo effects which I feel some other YT reviewers inadvertently come across as doing.

It was actually Garage Therapy's suggestion to test their products on more than one vehicle so you can draw better conclusions (based on my GT foam test on just one vehicle), and my preference is to test products side by side for direct comparisons. It's a lot more work but it's far better content isn't it?

Absolutely right, slow reacting chemicals are just not useful for outdoor doing multiple vehicles a day.
