Forsaken City - Sub 50 Pace Strats (

This IL video is cut from different runs and, as a result, is not valid or submittable. This spliced run is for educational purposes to illustrate particular strats that may be used for every screen in order to further the development of Celeste speedrunners. This is why there will be cuts in places throughout the video, but does not change the final attainable time when using these strats as a whole. Having 0 or near 0 deaths must be taken into consideration when observing the time of this run. Because of this, you may have to make accommodations for your own runs based on your own skillset in order to achieve similar times.

Knew the tech in the game before the main video, shaved down my IL for Forsaken City to 1:24.473 with the routing in this video.

I have question regarding the things I do in my runs
Is
0:08 really faster by going up?
I usually at 0:10 wave dash right immediately when entering the room, grab the platform and then dash up immediately when I get on it, Is that faster or slower?
And in the room at 0:31 I usually jump OVER the spring and dash to the 2nd spring
Are these bad habits i should break?

0:08 it is faster to go up
0:10 currently your strat may be slightly faster (haven’t tested) BUT this strat follows what the higher level strat does which IS faster, so in sub 40 we’ll explore how we can make that as fast as possible
0:31 I’m not sure about which strat would end up being faster here, but I’d encourage timing it yourself to test it with speedrun tool!
I wanted to make these strats a mix of easy to execute and easy to adjust when getting to higher level strats in the future
