- In this elden ring video I'm testing whether a powered up version of king morgott can defeat any of the other main bosses in elden ring.
As per usual I've enabled all grabs and I powered him up by increasing all his stats and resistances as well as hp and poise by 50% while also having him start off in 2nd phase at full hp.
He now has 15k hp, double stats and resistances as well as 150 poise.

Everyone disrespects Morgott so much but he genuinely is one of the bosses with the toughest moveset. He's stuck in a tough place to balance gameplay wise, so it ended up with most players steamrolling him. I did a "underleveled relative to each area and boss playthrough" and Morgott was the hardest boss for me to learn. He's got crazy combo conversion options, timing and almost random punisher moves. There's no other boss with attack strings as long as Morgott's.
Except Godfrey that man be a steamroller just pumping out combo into combo into combo This isn’t super smash bros
Yeah his moves are never possible to 100% learn since he has _optional_ combo extensions that he may sometimes only use if you decide to follow up to one of his initial "openings" with a punish of your own.
In a sense, he has no openings. Sometimes the only openings he presents are the ones that stop bein an opening the moment you try anything.
Eeeeeh, morgott is only really bad if you have a heavy weapon

I think Morgotts moveset makes him an interesting fight and combined with his backstory just makes him a cool character

seeing him grab & skewer Mogh (& previously the Foreskin Noble) looks cool af though, almost as hype as his dad Godfrey's powerbomb grab
and that was also funny consider the Noble & Mogh's considerable girth & weight, and Morgott lifted them like a whole roast lamb

Morgott main disadvantage is that everyone has a huge holy resistance for whatever reason.
They’re all demigods, they should have holy resistance since they’re half divine.

Holy damage pretty much represents the erdtree and most of the bosses we fight are allies of the erdtree and Golden order gods/demigods, save for few who are adjusted accordingly and have lower holy resist like Mohg/Renalla/fire giant.

Morgott in these really is "Why does everything have such absurd Holy resistance" in boss form.
This video just demonstrates how bad Morgott's stas generally are. Even with the 50% buff, he just has less DPS and HP than pretty much all of the late game bosses. Radahn on the other hand, had the stats to match them which showed in how he slaughtered his way through most of them.
Radahn had his shit doubled, not increased by 50%. Radahn is stronger than Morgott in boss vs boss, but only because of the meteor. Stat wise, Morgott is stronger, having slightly more health and damage.
The problem with Morgott is that his attacks are *very* delayed, which works well against human players, but not as much against NPCs.
Another thing, is that Morgott's curse activation is another window of DPS against him. He takes too long to cast it.
In addition to 40% protection against holy attacks, all other his resistances parameters are equal to 0. Zero multiplied by 1.5 is still zero, lmao. And no, it's not Morgott hitting weakly. It is most of the main bosses that appear more often in such videos, including Morgott himself, have the highest resistance to holy damage, while holy damage is, one might say, Morgott's main type of attack.

Finally, I've wanted to see this for a while. I'm not even disappointed he lost most of the time. I mean, he nearly killed Placidusax. I also found it interesting that he somehow seemed to know to attack the Fire Giant's left leg. Over-all, this still feels like a pretty appropriate power level for an improved Morgott.
If vanilla in-game Morgott was a bit stronger, the entire "dificulty spike" in the forbidden lands and ahead would make so much more sense, which makes me wonder what From was thinking when making him super weak, it's not like they didn't scale Margit up to get you to explore and lvl up in order to not be super underleveled as you reached stormveil
I think they intended us to do the questlines before moving onto the forbidden lands, so the intended progression goes
Godrick - Rennala - Morgott - Astel/Fortisaxx/Sewer Mohg etc - Forbidden lands.
Personally i also think that Radahn was intended to be done post Morgott as part of Rannis quest, nothing to back that up other than the weird endgame levelling around dragonbarrow though, the fact that the Caelid divine tower is so high level compared to the rest of Caelid implies to me that Radahn was intended to be fought post capital.
Yeah like I think I just explored Leyndell for 5 minutes and killed Morgott alongside Tiche and Melina. I thought it was cool, but underwhelming. I mean I heard about how tough Leyndell was compared to Liurnia, Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula and honestly even much of Caelid, so for me to waltz in and kinda win in a few tries just didn't feel right. Lower Leyndell was ridiculously challenging compared to Morgott
@@jaredgreathouse3672the reason it felt so easy is because of your summons. Tiche is arguably the best summon in the game and having Melina for healing would of course make the fight very easy
@@monarchofshadows5536 I agree! When I go on NG+, I'll likely use faith build or something similar, and I won't summon pretty much with anyone except Malenia, I imagine I'll have a better go of things
I always figured they just ran out of time by the time they started designing forbidden lands hence why stuff becomes much more artificially difficult by scaling their health and damage by such a degree and why the game becomes so linear by that point.
Morgott is already at his prime, the version that we fight is probably the strongest he’s ever been.

Now this is the Morgott we deserve. He is really powerfull and badass in the lore, but really weak in the game for some reason
Because game progression. Bosses have to be somewhat gated in the order of which level the player is assumed to be going up against them. That’s why Radahn was famously nerfed after release: despite his legendary status, he was too strong for what is still a relatively early boss.
@@Ett.Gammalt.Bergtroll You are definetly right, but even then Morgott seems to have too little health for a late midgame boss. Players are usually way too overleveled when fighting him
@@pope4510 They definitely got him a bit wrong. I reckon, since it is the first truly open world Soulsborne, they underestimated how much side content on average a player would do before reaching Leyndell.
@@Ett.Gammalt.Bergtroll Yup. It's pretty much Elden Ring's only flaw. They tailored remembrance bosses (non optional ones especially) similarly to the Soulsborne series, but didn't seem to keep proper account of just how much people would explore in the beautiful world they made and how strong that would make them. You see it most strongly in Maliketh and Morgott. Both have 10k health and 80 poise. Godrick for example already has 8k health and 100 poise. There is no excusing that. Maliketh literally leads to the epilogue of the game. He should have had 30k health (10k Beast Clergyman, 20k Maliketh) and 120-160 poise like many other endgame bosses. Morgott leads to the final chapter of the game, so he should have had 20k and 100-120 poise. This would also make the difficulty spike to the Mountaintops less noticeable as Morgott was surprisingly weak compared to the Shunning Grounds and some of the enemies in Leyndell like the knights and aristocrats.
Morgott shares similar problems with Gundyr ‘cause those movesets are specifically made for kicking our asses, not enemies. From would’ve given Morgott different moves if they wanted him to fight other enemies, but in a more lore-accurate way
Something that might be fun for a series would be some kind of progression as the character wins early fights (i.e. Every win gives +10% stats for the next fight) and see how far they can make it. Too many times we see the same early wins and the same late losses.
I lost it when Morgott threw the spear at Placidusax while he was coming in for the diving slash

His fight with Maliketh was cinematic asf.
Those delayed attacks really don't do him any favors in these boss vs boss. He has like two high DPS attacks
His fluid moveset made the fight against Placidusax & The God-Devouring Serpent some of the most interesting in terms of visual choreography and timing.
I'm really glad we got to see him actually go up against other bosses like this, because watching the movesets pitted against each other are half the fun of these AI battles and this really gives the awesome bosses with lower HP/Poise a way to shine!
Stars of Darkness instead of Natural born, I guess the earlier astel wouldve been too easy. Didn't expect him to win many, it was just nice seeing his cool moves and dodges without getting staggering all the time or dying during phase transitions. He did so well for what he is. I'm proud of him. Too bad late game bosses have insane holy resist
Phase 1.5 for Godfrey might be the strongest in these types of fights. I would love to see just that version of Godfrey against all bosses.

Actually, the manifestation of Godfrey is more dangerous than morgott
I dunno, I recall getting my ass kicked more times by Morgott than Spirit Godfrey during my first playthrough. I think Morgott is mainly designed to be a skill-test what with his speed and input reading, while being relatively easy to simply overpower if you're high enough level and have a decent understanding of his moves.

Maliketh prime would literally be the one hit killer.
At his prime he had FULL Rune of Death, being able to instakill anything and anyone.
Prime Malenia is a questionable thing tho, she's never bloomed the final (3rd) time, and never became true Rot Goddess.
And if she did bloom 3rd time - the it was during her fight with us - which would make Malenia we fight a prime Malenia (at least, 2nd phase).
So she's kinda prime in every boss vs boss already.
They'll simply kill everyone, and will probably tie with one another, nothing new.
Morgott kind of reminds me of the win record the Abyss Watchers had when going against other bosses.
Eventhough he's still lost to almost every bosses but we have to admit that he looks so cool

Legitimately I think she could kill every boss that’s not an radagon or Malenia . Her poise damage is unreal and imagine giving her damage and health to back it up
I think morgott should also deal bleeding damage with his weapon because when the player uses it, it deals bleeding status and this sword also does more bleeding than bloodhound fang

I mean Rennala is still in her prime when we meet her. She's just fallen into a depression of sorts and is not actually "conscious". What we fight is an apparition of her that Ranni conjures up. So we don't actually "wake" her up. The reason Ranni does this. Is because a fully conscious Rennala would interfere with her plans. Anyways I guess if you used head canon. A Rennala that is actually awake and trying to win. Would be more durable and a lot faster than what we saw. But that is really just head canon. The aspect that Ranni summoned _could_ be equal to her in strength. Ranni herself could be more powerful than Rennala. We don't know yet.

I meant that we get Morgott, the Margit's and his godfrey shade on the same team and let those 4 fight bosses. A stat increase isn't really something new or lore accurate. Did you run into some modding difficulties?

Morgott is already in his prime. Unlike most bosses he’s not hanging around doinf nothing but rather he takes action around the world as his Margit persona, honing his fighting skills and whatnot.
Tbf we don’t really know that. I like to think that he was in his prime during his younger days during the shattering but age caught up to him

Man, I had NO IDEA Astel was so resistant to holy damage. God damn. Also, how damn low is Morgott's poise? Even at 1.5x he keeps getting broken all the time.
Extremely low. Though, this is mostly due to the fact he's meant to fight players, and he's good at that... And that alone. In fact, in-game, you can get higher poise than him. Both normally, and in this video, you can have 150 poise or more.
Morgott's Stance is a mere 80, identical to Malenia without the ridiculous amounts of Hyper Armor Malenia can just...will into existence with every move. I'm not even joking Malenia can just choose to have hyper armor as greater than half her moves have it.
Was thinking about Mohg’s phase transition and how it seems to a lot of people like an instant win button, but here’s the question: how many bosses can Mohg beat without his Nihil doing damage? That’s a video I’d like to see
there was a video early on that showed Nihel not doing any damage and he was still pretty strong his second phase move set is wild as hell .
I think in the old boss vs boss videos his nihil didn't work and I think he is still got so many victories, go look for them
Mogh is still strong af even without nihil, not only is he a bleed abuser, his staff hits like a truck and he has a fuckton of resistences and HP, to the point that if Malenia didn't have her waterfowl, he would be stronger then her (at least imo)

Tbh I don't think it would even take that much to work, if you watch DumpyKong's Elden Ring Pokemon randomizer he uses Godefroy the Grafted from the evergaol in Altus and Godefroy was able to handle most bosses single handedly. Thinking back on it, Godrick has so many good combos in his moveset so if he was buffed to end game level he'd probably be one of the harder bosses to fight

Everyone “cheats”. Radahn turns into a nuke, Mohg runs a bleed build, Ulcerated Tree Spirit gives you a seizure if you stay locked onto it, etc.

There a way to make Morgott's sword rain tick more often? Cuz like, with the amount of swords that he spawns, it should definitely tick for damage more than once per second lol
Agreed. When I first saw him use that on some of the bigger bosses, my first thought was, "Okay, now here comes some REAL damage. This should help even the playing field." Nope.
The only reason Morgott is getting so much disrespect is because his goated (and sometimes annoying) combos and attack strings are only suitable for Tarnished, while other bosses are somewhat immune to them.
That Fortissax won surprised me, he usually always looses in these Boss vs Boss videos
