I agree, cutting it sort of ruins the point of rolling it like that.
It's usually cut at the table. It's called omu rice

Am I the only one who notices that these eggs are RAWW!!! Literally just cook it for 10 seconds more and it would be perfect.
Nah this is what they were going for. Japanese cuisine cooks eggs to runny pretty often. Their eggs aren't nearly as salmonella-ridden as ours
Uncultured much? 😂 Are you the one complaining about blood in a medium rare steak. Those omelets are perfectly cooked. Uncultured people think everything has to be cooked to death or tenderized to death 🤣 poor food...
@@domenichughes7792it's disgusting 🤮
Americans: Hey what’s this?
Japanese people: Omurice! Traditional and untraditional-
Americans: difficult eggs.. got it!
Japanese people: Thats nothing like I said-
I never knew eggs could be so satisfying
True
😂😂😂 Me and my poorly thought out mind
Really cool cooking tricks but I wouldnt enjoy eating half raw eggs.
Once you eat half-cooked eggs, fully-cooked eggs will taste like plastic.
Exactly ,that is how I felt thanks!
@@tonyvu2011 runny eggs are disgusting.
@@tonyvu2011 I have, and I have to disagree.
Once you eat half-raw eggs, you’ll find they taste much like half-cooked eggs!
😮The 1st one uses a lot of skill..I definitely am going to practice this. The 2nd one looks more artistic and edible lol. Keep up the good work chef! 👊🏾
The first one is a basic omurice, though getting the correct internal temp and consistency may not work well with American eggs. Works better with eggs outside the US, though. As I understand it, it's a difference in storage. Also, it's my understanding that scrambled eggs are generally more runny outside the US.
I had Omerice 2 times in Japan at highly rated places and it was just ok. It’s hard to just make eggs and rice taste phenomenal no matter the seasoning so I don’t understand the hype. It’s more like humble comfort food but the presentation is the star so it seems superficial.
Impressive but I don't like eggs especially half cooked😳
Me too I can't eat this. Nice craft but definitely not for me
Salmonela possibly.
Right 🤢🤢🤮🤮
It looks slimy and disgusting 🤮🤮😷
Я люблю сильно зажаренные яйца в омлете. Ненавижу недожаренные.
It is always so fascinating to see how much oil to use when cooking omelette!
That's not oil... That's water ... It's just like boiling
That is interesting. I might have to try that.

Nah man this looks like raw egg slime bag
I'm the same way. Anything slimy won't go down.

This is stolen from a small Japanese restaurant. One single chef in Japan started this and now everyone is copying it bc nobody is original anymore.
@@phillysteaks42 Do you know how ridiculous you sound? Omurice was first recorded being made in 1900. And no cuisine is "original" anymore. Everything starts with one person and it spreads and becomes engrained in the cultural zeitgeist because it tastes good. That's the whole point of creating a dish.

It looks amazing don't get me wrong but it's basically raw egg in the middle
Most European countries have a very low salmonella percentage. In japan it's safe to eat raw eggs and it's done pretty regularly. It's just like them being able to eat raw fish because it's safe.
Here in germany you can actually eat raw eggs without a problem. The risk is very low to become sick
For me it's not about getting sick, I just don't enjoy the texture of a runny egg.
@@LegendaryTony. i hate the texture of eggs in general 😭
@@Daddy_Lorax_42069 Fair enough. 😆
The first one looks good, but it's raw. I can admire the job done, but I can't eat it 😣
its basically the same as the runny yolk in a sunny side up or poached egg. Also raw eggs are perfectly safe to eat in most countries out of the US
@@100_not_cuin8 that's why I didn't generalized. I cannot eat it, but some people can.
My uncle used to mix a mixture of ingredients containing raw eggs and drinking it.

After cooking his breakfast in the morning... dude uses his chopsticks to play the drums🥁🙃
Being wary of eggs because of salmonella is primarily a North American concern I think. In Japan, theres a lot of raw egg dishes or eating the egg slightly uncooked because theres not a health risk associated with it
io credo che la salmonella ci sia anche in Giappone, come ovunque... e ad ogni modo le uova così, mezze crude, fanno schifo 🤢
@@maacheservestaroba In Japan, eggs are so thoroughly controlled that it is safe to eat them raw without any problems.
Ignorance is really pathetic😢
I think the problem is that in USA the eggs get washed. That way the natural protection layer is gone and they have to be stored in a ref.
So America must have bad practice because the Japanese did have the same problem
America concern is greed..
Skillfully made, but my scrambled eggs and omelets have to be fully cooked. The presentation is fantastic though.
this is a japanese omelette, and in many countries eggs can be eaten raw. If you were to make this in America though, it would have to be cooked all the way through
@@matthews-j8d I guesse, healthcare isn't the only reason. Not everyone likes their whites slimy.
@@matthews-j8d Not really, you can eat raw eggs in the USA if you are buying produce from literally anything above walmart quality. Its just that many Americans for whatever reason like dry to the bone eggs.
