- Dangerously close to the spillway, a stark reminder of the lengths AWP is willing to go to in their search to find Robert Cavanagh who vanished without a trace on December 24, 2004, along with his black 1996 Mazda B2300 pickup truck. Focusing on the chilling note he left behind, drives AWP to push boundaries and face risks head-on.

Out Now for Members (Public Release Oct 28, 2023)
In our previous searches, we've combed through the areas surrounding Mansfield, Connecticut, where Robert was last seen. We've retraced his steps, considered the significance of the note he left behind, and explored the potential paths he might have taken in his Mazda. The truck, with its Connecticut license plate number 681CZT, remains a key piece of the puzzle.
On this third day, our search takes a more focused turn. We're drawn to the vicinity of St. Joseph's Church, a location that holds significance due to its proximity to Robert's last known whereabouts. The Willimantic River, with its unpredictable currents and depths, presents both a challenge and a potential lead. The river, situated between two dams, has areas of white water that make the search risky, especially after recent rains.
Our team discusses the possibility of Robert visiting the church, perhaps seeking solace or guidance, before making his way to the river. The church's location, just a few minutes from his home, makes it a plausible point of interest. As we scan the river, we identify potential anomalies that could indicate the presence of a vehicle. The depth and flow of the river, combined with the presence of large boulders and debris, make the search complex.
We also consider the weather conditions from December 2004. With temperatures averaging between 30° to 35°, it's possible that ponds in the area were frozen, making the moving body of water in the river a more likely location for any intentional act.
Throughout the search, we're reminded of the importance of community and collaboration. Drone footage provides a bird's-eye view of the area, while discussions with locals offer insights into the landscape and its changes over the years. The presence of a new fence near a potential launch spot, the shifting depths of the river, and the historical significance of the surrounding buildings all play a role in our investigation.
As we conclude our third day, the search for Robert and his truck remains at the forefront of our minds. The note he left behind, the truck he drove, and the years that have passed all intertwine to form a narrative of loss, hope, and determination. Our mission remains clear: to uncover the truth, bring closure to Robert's loved ones, and ensure that his story is never forgotten.
Join us on this journey as we continue to piece together the puzzle of Robert Cavanagh's disappearance. Every clue, every lead, and every moment spent searching brings us one step closer to finding Robert and understanding the events of that fateful December day.

Most of his family wants to find him and we appreciate everything AWP has done to date and will continue to support them. We will never give up trying to find him and the truth to his disappearance. 🙏
After meeting the family, that is all I would like to do. I just want to find him.
I hope he is found soon
Some people are so ignorant. AWP are awesome!!
And if you can find one missing person.......it can help when looking for another. Keep searching .
These guys are doing an unique service
As a family member who has had a missing person for 35 years, it helps us feel better even knowing where she is not. We are grateful to any effort put out to help find her. The people criticizing you for putting out videos when you don’t find the person obviously has never gone through this sort of thing personally. You do great work and I am proud to support you in any way I can. The only reason I haven’t reached out about our case is there is no vehicle involved.
So sorry your loved one has been lost. I pray you find her without any further delay. I pray for favor over your family in this matter.
You’re right about those who complain about the videos without a find. Those people are watching for their own entertainment and not because they care. Sad.
All the best to you and yours. 💛
@@brendametube thank you
I don't believe that it has to have a vehicle involved to have them help you find your loved one. They go off leads and clues that are factual.
Never criticize anyone who is trying to help a family member who is missing my heart and prayers go out to everyone thank you hope we can bring Robert home soon God bless all
I k ow of a family that was looking for their son for many years. They found out that a part of his body was recovered from an island in a river but somehow the part got lost & they didn’t notify the family. Someone working in the office found the paperwork and finally, after years, called the family to tell them that a part of him was found. Family had dna on file so that’s how they knew it belonged to the missing person.
I hope you get closure of some kind on your loved one.
For heaven sake, the conclusion isn't the only thing that interest me. It's what leads up to it, that keeps me watching!
Are people really complaining about the videos? Good grief. What if it was your family? Of course we all want them to be found but that’s not reality.
@@heatherbrown1356be grateful they tried. They didn’t have to.
People are always looking for something to gripe about. What a sad way to live.
Don't watch them if it bothers them!! Me myself love the videos makes me feel human with emotions I never knew I had!
And if they only showed the solved ones those same complainers would say it's fake. I'm glad AWP said they continue regardless of those comments.
Makes me feel good to know this men are trying to help others. Yes it can be sad, that is life, look for the positive! Bless these men!!
You guys truly have found your purpose. You are professional, tactful, kind and are therefore setting a very good example in a world which needs it. Thank you so much for what you do.
I love the raw emotions and huge hearts of these "real" men.
Guys, our prayers continue with you all on your life journey.
Thank you for following up on this case. I hope that Robert will be found soon and give the entire family the closure that they deserve.
I'm from Southeastern CT. and have become familiar with a lot of the waterways from living here for the last 53 years. My brother and I try to get around trying out new areas to kayak. Now that I know there's a cold case we will definitely keep our eyes open. I've been watching AWP for a couple years now. You all are a great inspiration and are doing great work. I'm hoping to be slowing down soon after many years in the Tree service industry. I've also spent time as a firefighter first responder and many other trades, so I've been thinking about starting up a channel of my own to put out a wide variety of content. Picking up at the very least what's needed to scan waterways will definitely be on the list.
GOD BLESS YOU!!!❤
I am glad Bill came back to work with Jared. Both work the same way. Logical and thorough. I enjoyed watching Bill with Down Under Dan. Him and Jared make an awesome, effective team.
Im a CT resident. Thank you for helping this family. There's many waterways near that area. Bolton Lake, Shenipsit Lake...and the CT River has a ton of access points and just a hop skip away. Prayers he is found and the family can have closure. Thank you AWP for all you do!
I really love the camaraderie between you and Bill. You two make a really great team. Thanks for your ongoing commitment to finding the lost Jared!
It's "camaraderie " 🙂
Bill's a keeper!
These missions must be expensive. Airing the ones when you don't find anyone, helps fund the search in the next case.
Not really.... They already have all the expensive equipment, so really minimal expenses
@@user-ch5mh5vw2i The fuel, salaries, accommodations, repairs and maintenance... ROFL! They're also expected to upgrade their equipment to improve their recovery rates.
If they don't likè the videos, Don't watch them, chance the channel, watch something else, just because you don't like them, doesn't mean the rest of us feels like you 😊
I cant believe some people would say that why you put up videos if its not solved what you said is perfectly right we have to get them out there in case someone knows something. you guys work hard to make this happen and if you guys weren't out there some of these families wouldn't get closure at all.
Jared no matter what,,,you're the best, God keep you and your team safe always 😊
You guys a re amazing. Don't bother with people talking about "only solving cases" that's not how real life works. As a fisherman and outdoor enthusiast i can imagine what a daunting task it must be to find one specific object going on just a handful of clues. Huge respect for what you guys are doing!
Videography, drone shots, and editting are exceptional. The new editting team deserves a round of applause.
Thank you for building the perfect team.
❤
😊
Kade is still with us and in charge of editing team. Always a work in progress. 😍
Yes and No Clickbaity words used in the titles, unlike some similar channels.
What an amazing video to watch. I am hooked. Hope you find Robert for his family 🙏 Thank you for everything you do. From Manchester England
Please people come on!! Even if they don’t find Robert, there’s a good chance they could bring someone else home!! Sad but true!! Watch the full videos in support of Jarod and his team!!???❤❤❤❤
I would pay no attention to those negative people commenting, you's guys are awesome and the work yous do is second to none so keep it going and I want to say thank you because you's have opened my eyes to a new reality and it sucks sometimes but unfortunately is a part of life and yous guys are helping a lot of people along the way no matter what the outcome you's are still out there searching and searching and for that alone people should be more positive 👍🏼👍🏼.
I understand the logic on which St. Joseph's was assumed to be meant in the letter, but it might be the wrong one. He mentions wanting to be buried with his dad and brother. I found his father's obituary and he was buried at St. Bernard Cemetery in Vernon, CT. There seems to be a massive lake there called Shenipsit Lake along with a number of small brooks and ponds. Forgive me if I missed those being searched, but if they haven't, I could see there being logic in that being the place where he is found where he wanted to be buried in that cemetery.
I can check it out but that lake is private. There are some dams in that area that used to power factories. So there might be some deep spots. Thank you.
There also appears to be the Middle Bolton Lake boat launch and a couple of other smaller possibilities in Vernon.@@johnnydedos5970
I checked the lake and there is no real good entry points. The spot down from the cemetery that is dammed off is a good spot to check. Not too many other spots near there to check.
I love what your team does for the families in need of finding a lost loved one! I watch every show and I tell everyone about Adventures with a purpose! Thank you for giving your time in helping others!
Yes, I agree with Judy and others re the videography, editing etc but also WHO is writing the descriptions? Such a detailed, well written, dramatic narrative that makes one want to watch the video and adds so much more info and play by play!! WHO doing? Great member of current team! Thank you!!
Jared and Aria are writing the descriptions. Glad you like them.

God bless you for searching, for not giving up and bringing closure for the families.
I remember back when they were just getting started and they didn't have very much equipment and now look at them. I'm so proud of him for doing great work for families that are missing their loved ones. Good job
the videos are as important to solving a case as finding them
I love you and those who help others ❤😢
Keep the great content coming. As long as you guys are out there, then so is hope.
I love the fact that THARE is just a random bike in the most random place ever
Getting that close to the dam could've ended badly thank you jesus for being with awp as bad as we all want you to bring the loved one home we want awp to go home safely as well the love and compassion you have to the families and finding their loved one is amazing solved or not we love what you do stay safe and god bless and be with awp on all cases ❤❤
thanks for putting out all videos it helps everyone know they're missing , where places have been searched and cleared etc.. it also gets helps from people in that area . thanks for doing what you do .
Ever since finding you guys and watching every time I go fishing I always wonder what may be lurking underneath. And to know you were in the state of CT and not too far away from where I am here is amazing. I would have fangirled so hard if I saw you guys lol keep up the fantastic work. You are helping more than you know.
He left instructions for his arrangements and where he wanted to be buried. I don't think his intention was to not be found. So either he grossly underestimated the difficulty of finding his vehicle in water in choosing a place that, in his mind, would be obvious, or he's not in water at all.
That’s what I was wondering. He thought he would be found.
I agree. I’ve almost done this myself and you don’t leave instructions unless you’re gonna be interred. He went somewhere he thought he’d be found. I just don’t think he wanted his family to find him that’s why he went away from home.
OR, he was talking about the St. Joseph's church in the other town, not where he lived at the time. I think he underestimated how difficult it would be to find him, and/or identify his body. He could be in a John Doe grave somewhere in the area.
A big thank you to you guys you are helping people find hope ,God Bless you and thank you so much ,you can see you care and you give your all to help familes to have closure
I’ll keep watching the videos wether you solve them or not!
Same here
52:48 exactly! See something SAY something! There are great people with talent at finding things!
I love watching your videos and all the good you do for families that are looking for closure
Thank u!!! Guys keep up the good work. Thank u for bringing the missing person back home to there love ones. 😢😢😢😢
Pray that the family will finally have closure. Thank you for trying to help this family, you guys are amazing!
Good to see how many effort you do to find someone. Even you can't find a person everytime. Keep up the good work!
I don't know if anyone informed you that Paul Knockle was found in dubuque, iowa. I know you were here some time ago sonaring for him. They were dredging out the Hawthorne boat ramp and found his car, the family doesn't think he was in the car and are going to keep looking for him. They didn't find any remains, but after 33 years the car was filled with silt. They said it was hit with boats, but they always thought it was a big rock
Painted white bikes are memorable dedications.
I understand why you do things the way you do them you do a great job God bless you
We love all these videos!! Solved or not. It makes people aware of you is missing and from where
Thanks Knut for the follow up. Most of my follow ups have been eliminated. Moving to Vernon sites that I can search. If I find something good might need some drone footage shot.
Rt.74 might be an option
Jared, just keep doing what you do.❤
That's a true friend in Bill putting his life in Jared's hands. I would do the same that's how much I trust his judgement.❤
I agree!
❤
😊
Its so cool to see you guys in my local spots! When we kayak down the natchaug river we have a game where we drink every time we find a tire. The record is 13. The shopping cart record is 4
Thank you for all you and your team do to try to locate missing loved ones.
Because of the note he left, I am thinking he went to a place where he assumed his truck or body would be found. So where is there a place where people go fishing frequently? Could even be a little farther out from where you're looking 10 to maybe 15 miles. I'm pretty sure he felt he would be found in a short amount of time. Stay safe all, Jared, bring them home.
Bigalow hallow was the farthest spot he checked. The only other popular fishing spot would be crystal lake.
God bless you all for a great job
Omg, my heart was in my mouth when you got so close to that dam. Please don't do that again Jarod. 🤭😱🥺😳😮
Jared
If lots of big boulders and concrete slabs were pushed over in there after he disappeared, could some of that have crushed the vehicle or pushed it down into the sediment? My gears are spinning. I cannot fathom the family not knowing where he is for so long. It would drive me insane. Who knows, he may have driven far enough he wouldn’t be found for a long time, regardless of the letter he left behind.
You can only do your best Jared we understand that :) Keep up the good work
Ty for clarifying Jared. I like all your video's that you and your crew make. Ty for all your team does.
WE need you up in Pellston Michigan. There is a man with Alzheimer david moffett. Went missing with his dog a month ago. Dog showed up a week later with no trace of the man. We live really close to the lake Michigan shore. all sorts of water ways and rivers. Local search efforts have recently stopped and are waiting for further leads. I am not at all involved with the family just watching it unfold as a member of the community.
I live in DFW, Texas but I have 2 cousins who retired from GM from 1966 to 2004.
❤keep doing what you do!! It's nice when you find someone lost, but videos like this are necessary
13:08 20 feet to the right of your boat. A car shaped (laying on the side) Shadow between the pillars. Would explain why he was not found yet.
UP
You guys are doing a great job God knows you trying your best to find these people keep up the good work and just take care of yourself and God bless I'm from California❤
Every case is interesting and involves someone's life and family. Thank you for posting them all!
The work you do is amazing keep doing what you do best and good Luck in future 🙏🙂
Doing these videos are not for entertainment purposes. They are to help families. All videos are important!!!
bill is the guy that goes to help Dan in Australia his a cool guy
Thank you
I too was hoping he would finally be found for the family to have closure. Thank you Adventures for all you do for grief stricken families.
We had a missing girl, 16, in my hometown, 1976ish. All of a sudden, 2 years ago she was found by a man whos been watching jared and he had a place he wanted to check. Sure enough, feel bad forgetting his name m, but he found the lil girls car and her rite down the end of her street. The boyfriend was a suspect, many people were. Mom n dad passed but siblings were there and her boyfriend. He was ecstatic to finally have the dark cloud over him gone. Thanks jared bcuz - he credited jared, the new sonar jared had, and his intuition. Amazing!!!!
Everything you put out is a clue. AWP keep looking for the missing, you or someone will find that missing part of the clue..
only showing "solved" cases would (imo) give future families unrealistic expectations. there are no guarantees going into a case... only hope... and families don't need unreal expectations given to them at that time in their lives.
Havnt been able to stop watching your episodes for over 3 days now on snd off. The work you do is beyond words. If i wasnt disabled id start something like this here in the UK.
Batman AND Scooby Doo? Man, Jared…you have connections.
Good job. I love all your videos . Weather you find the person or not. Keep doing what you do.
I have a feeling this is gonna be like the case of Robert and loveda it took many days and I think weeks to find them, can find Robert just like they were found
You guys do Awesome work!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
This one is so heartbreaking for his family.
You guys are fantastic you have done so many places looking for Robert I’m sorry you haven’t found him thanks so very much for everything you do.
Spoiler alert. Not watching now.
Well, that's entirely on you, buddy.
First of all, if AWP found a missing person you'll know straight away by the title they chose. So not much of a spoiler there..
Second: Why would you not wanna watch just because the person was not found?
The search and care given by them is the very same for each and everyone of missing persons they're looking for.
And in the end, it's true they didn't find Robert, but they can say with absolut certainty where he is not.
And that's going to be crucial in the ongoing search for him.
Hope you'll give it some thought.@@peterdubyoski4622
Jared, I am impressed by your determination to bring Robert home to his family. Having new clues definitely has changed the whole search region. You and Bill really work well together. I look forward to you working together in future searches.
I appreciate you coming back and looking for Robert. I just don't have any "check these spots" left. I wish I could think of any other spot but I cant think of one.
What’s amazing to me is Robert seemed to think it would be easy to find him and explained where he wanted to be buried. I don’t get it.
Could he have left clues into his estate, that was finished days prior or the crew may not have seen him? Plus there is a sliver of possibility he either went out further than expected, or he just decided to disappear from the area and is… I say reluctantly, still alive.
Mansfield hallow was the best guess because it has its flood stage and then a draw down stage. They checked all the areas and nothing
You are in my neck of the woods! As a Mass resident, we’ve had people get lost and there are ways to get to Bigelow through streets in the Sturbridge area. I love watching the way you guys work It was especially exciting seeing you in the Connecticut woods. Keep up your great work! ❤❤❤
Iv watched a lot of your videos. Guys your Angels in wetsuit 🙏 England 🏴
I love all the videos and I think your team does amazing work for the families so keep up the good work.
Jared, you guys do such a wonderful job at making all of your videos interesting, heartfelt, and encouraging. I don't know how some others wouldn't be captivated, even when you aren't able to bring them home. Im always left with the feeling of hope, after all of your videos. Hope that they will be found, or hope that the family will finally be able to find the peace that they were missing before you were able to bring their missing loved one home. You have started something absolutely amazing with this movement, and I hope more and more people will be able to be brought home. Thank you! 🙏❤️
thanks for posting another video of your incredible efforts. please keep it up. keep the adventure going! thanks for all you do!
Don’t listen to nay sayers. You’re doing a great job. I don’t miss a video!!❤
Please keep putting these videos out. Public awareness is essential to finding and solving some of your cases. I've watched your videos from the time you were finding cell phones and sunglasses. And have enjoyed the progression of your efforts. Keep it up.
Keep up the good 👍
You rock.
Hi Jared with team always enjoy Your video stay safe Out there Regards to your family Viewing from Singapore
I watch ALL of your videos to support your efforts. Every minute each of us watches adds to what you receive from TH-cam. It may not be much but it helps. I can see by your attitude, you are laser-focused on your goal of assisting those who have lost someone. I applaud your efforts. Keep up the fabulous work!
I’m sure it’s heartbreaking for you too when you don’t find the lost individual. But, you are doing such amazing work, raising awareness and helping the families find their loved ones. All the while, you are away from your families. God bless you! ❤️🚣♂️
So happy to see you in Ct with so much water it’s always made me wonder growing up what secrets our waters hold! Growing up boating with my dad we would always find weird stuff on the sonar… thank you for all you do.
Enjoy watching you Jared! Keep up the good work!
personally i enjoy the Journey these vids take you on and is respectful to see how those who are lost are found also allows others to help out so keep up the great work from the UK
Hey , y'all are doing a great job. Keep up the good work ❤
I will continue as I always have to watch every bit of your content. Im in it to support you guys but I'm also in it for the learning..... Yours is a Holy Mission.... By all means
If anyone has a complaint on these videos that you don’t find who ur looking for are absolutely crazy. If you find them or not ur giving so many answers either way. Amazing content and stories.
Solved or unsolved.... you guys are doing amazing work for all the right reasons!
Sad that people would comment they only want to see solved cases. I enjoy watching ALL your videos. I can put a face with the lost loved ones and see the faces of the family/friends left behind and pray for them. I'm learning all kinds of things about sonar, and bodies of water, and makes/models of cars and how you prioritize where and how to search. It's educational. I admire your efforts and thoroughness and your respect for the families and how you work with local law enforcement. Thank you for what you do.
The longer it's been, the probability is low, but they keep trying because they care for the Families. TRUE HEROS!
Those are some really cool old buildings around there, a really cool looking area, looks almost like old places in the uk and england! Cool!
I like the solved ones best of course. Or the ones where they find something unexpected. But tbh, I love seeing them find anything on sonar, even if it isn't what they are looking for.
Интересно смотреть, поиски под водой,много же рас было такое что находили другие машины.Дополнительно пропавших без вести машины,люди вместе с автомобилем,так что очень поздновато смотреть ваши видео и интересно.
I don’t know about you guys maybe I’m wrong but if somebody says I want to be buried in a certain spot, it would seem like they would want to be found and if they wanted their funeral at a certain spot they would need their body to be found so they could have a death certificate, so they get off of funeral. But like you said it could’ve been an accident I love this show and yes I was also scared for you guys when you got close to the edge of a dam when I was about 7 1/2 my grandpa took us fishing at a hydroelectric plant where he was basically the only person working there and was allowed to fish, he got us really close to the edge. It was pretty hairy. I’ll tell you, but it was in Alabama in the summer and it wasn’t that cold.
