There was an update posted on Facebook that the rider involved in the accident is okay, they sustained a dislocated shoulder but have had it sorted out 🏥
Came across this post while looking at bikes. I feel sorry for the guy that has had his MotoGP experince ruined but I suspect he came in contact with another rider which is more often the case in group rides. At 76 I have been riding for 63 years, speedway, trail, enduro and road and the only time I ever felt exposed was when I rode in a group. Hope his day got better than it started.
What a riding career! Yeah, it’s a shame, we heard on Facebook that the person involved had a dislocated shoulder, so thankfully it wasn’t anything worse. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I've been riding for 45 years this year and the same, I've actually had a guy run up the back of me, I stayed on, he didn't. I ride offset when riding in a group, give myself plenty of room, especially from the rear, I'm good on the brakes , after riding with lots of people over the years, most others aren't, I always fear someone running into me from behind... Keep the rubber side down fella's...!!! PS, I'm heading down to Phillip Island {from Brisvegas}, in February for the Aussie titles....!! PPS, in the 80's, My 88 GSXR1100J was a bit more comfortable than your 1000 !!!! 😉
I rode down to the '89 GP from Sydney on my GPz900r with a mate (VF1000) and my girlfriend on the back of my bike, then over to Perth to break into the mining gig. The following year I rode back again from Leonora (WA), solo this time except for a different mate on a GPz750, he had to head back straight back to Perth after the racing for a wedding the following weekend. I carried on up to Sydney to get on the piss with me mates, then up to Brissy to visit my sister and family. Back down to Sydney (more pissy up's) and back to Leonora again. just under 10,00km in 3 weeks. Had a square arse and was a little over it by the time I got back! You guys should turn your packs around so they sit on the pillion seat (if you can, some frames sit too high). Brings the weight forward and lessens the wind drag, front wheel doesn't feel as skittish...
So many once a year riders and newbie’s heading out with flat tyres and stale fuel. Ride every day, been a bike mechanic all my life definitely one event I give a wide birth. Chaos.
I was sad I wasn't able to go this year, thanks for recording this so I can experience it thru you! Great vibes and cool to find a vic moto youtuber, keep up the great work 🙏😊💜
Hello Josh , Fabian and Dad. So bloody good to see a family day out on the bikes. What a ride, thanks for sharing. David...Adelaide....Triumph Scramblers 1200X and 900
Used to organise trips Adelaide to PI for 4 years in a row, both MotoGP and Wsbk.Started with myself, brother and mate, last trip was 13 on bikes, with my 4x4 towing trailer with all our camping gear and 4 occupants…….You need a good captain, lead rider, who knows the route, use to try a different route each trip and a good back rider, keeps an eye on people who maybe struggling and to pull everyone over for a rest. Most times we pulled into a servo approx every 200 I’m,for fuel, whether anyone needed or not,Got 15/w0 minute rest,a drink and something to eat,was a great solution to fatigue, bum and other miscellaneous pains……..Looking to do next yr,on my 2007 Ducati st3s-abs at 67by/o
Looked like a bit of fun, shame about the rider down though. It's a pretty regular occurence in those large group rides which is why I tend to avoid them - unless they're for charity.
Nice communications between bikes!. Is that bluetooth ?. What range do you get between bikes?. I haven't kept up with the helmet technology. Personally, I avoid all distractions whilst riding. Taking phone calls is a no no.
Thanks, it sure is, we are using the Cardo Freecom 4x units. You get about 1km on clear road with them and honestly couldn't ride without them, essential for me now!
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪, Just found your channel & am enjoying some outback vids, cool that you have road & ATV motorcycles , started a channel myself this year & am having fun with it, sent you a sub, Cheers & Ride safe
I really dislike group rides. Nobody knows what the others are doing. Throttle jockies everywhere trying to impress. People have accidents like old mate at the start of your video. Insanity waiting for an incident to happen…….
4:29 "perfect weather as well" - at that moment, maybe but it is PI, so prepare for a hurricane or heatwave between now and 4pm! It's all possible there. Enjoy!

That's good to hear!
Great to see you guys enjoying time with your father, very lucky he rides with you..
Yeah, it’s great to have a shared hobby!

And the bigger the group the greater the likelyhood. More moving parts, more risk. Ride safe brothers.

Good stuff mate, sounds like you had some fun back in the day!
Yeah, I'll let my dad know about the packs, cheers!
1.43 When I rode [for 45 yrs] I avoided riding with people I did not know.
Definitely a wise choice
But once you met them they no longer are unknown.
Hi, my name is Robert, and you know me…..lol

We’ll have to do more of them now that the weather is getting better down here in Melbourne.
@@AusMoto Excellent plenty of nice rides around Bendigo; Ballarat, also Great Ocean Road...cheers...
@@davidcauchi2837 yeah, planning on taking dad down to Great Ocean Rd, he’s never been on a bike!

That’s awesome mate!
Sad to see someone go down, looks like a fun meet though & those roads look amazing
Yeah, a big shame but a great day overall!
I hate riding in a group because people don't respect your space. Age 71 and riding since I was 17. Way better in Europe.
You’re doing something right! 👍
Hope you’re still riding now
Your old man looks pretty fit and so looks like you..haha
Yeah he takes his training pretty seriously 💪
Looked like a bit of fun, shame about the rider down though.
It's a pretty regular occurence in those large group rides which is why I tend to avoid them - unless they're for charity.
Yeah man, sucks to see…
I did the first PI GP ride from Melbourne city to the island on a Bright Yellow Bajaj Chetak 150 - great fun
That's bloody awesome mate!
That was so wholesome! 👍🏻
👍😁
When you see the result of a tear off under Marc Marquez back tyre at the start of the motogp, you realise how sensitive bikes can be...
Yeah for sure! How crazy was that start though 😬
That post piss feeling 😆
Great vid mate!
😆😆 thanks mate!
And there is why I don't do these rides. Some of these people ride once or twice a year and never in close company.
Yeah, you certainly need your wits about you on these kind of rides.
Exactly, seen the same thing to many times, avoid mass rides like this now for that reason
@@troygalbraith625 Yeah I don't blame you mate
Looks like you had a ball, those group rides are always chaos. I swept a group of 500+ bikes to the blessing of the bikes once....never again 😂😂😂
Yeah definitely, it was a tonne of fun, just had to be cautious of all the bikes around you haha! 😂

Go and check out the damaged bike yard in Campbellfield. A eye opener, each damaged bike has a story. I don’t understand why.
I'll have to check it out, sounds interesting!

I'll check out your channel 😃
@AusMoto Thanks man appreciated, I've only ever done some dirt bike riding when younger, but those trails look amazing fun.
Cheers
Cheers mate always good to see your old man he's a fuckin character 😎 you're so lucky he rides 💪
Thanks man, I'll need to get him on the channel some more 💪💪
Is that Bandit 1250?. I have 2013 1250fa.
Sure is, Mike, I believe it's a 2012 1250FA.
I really dislike group rides. Nobody knows what the others are doing.

Yeah, definitely saw a fair few ‘throttle jockies’!
Why I either lead, or ride with the leader, or somewhere between the lead group and the main group
Poor girl, went past just after it happened
Yeah, a damn shame
Group rides are never a good idea imo.
Seems like it, too many bikes weaving around, it’s great fun and a good experience but definitely gotta be cautious
4:29 "perfect weather as well" - at that moment, maybe but it is PI, so prepare for a hurricane or heatwave between now and 4pm! It's all possible there. Enjoy!
Yep, you can easily get 4 seasons in one day haha!
Thanks for watching 👍
Yeah, you can keep that. Nothing for me to see here.
Hope you had a good time.
We certainly did 👍
None of this looks relaxing
Yeah, you can’t really relax on a group ride
Boring as hell!😉😉😉😉
Cool
