    I wondered why WvA drives like a madman at the top of peloton 5 km before the finish line and doesn't save himself for the sprint at the end. This is just pure dominance by Jumbo. Flat stage and top sprinters cant win. Again. Jasper Philipsen is this year in great form and he won just one stage. I feel little bit sorry for this guy but these unexpected outcomes makes Tour so much entertaining.

    • @2headstalking
      @2headstalking 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      perhaps Jumbo was looking to get another member to the finish line first. since we never get to really see what these teams daily plans are, it's hard to say.. either way, even down men, Jumbo is just dominant right now.

      I speculate WvA’s primary role towards the finish is to keep the yellow jersey up front and safe from getting consumed by sprinter teams. I get your point though, especially that WvA was still sprinting for points in the previous stage. Even though he’s guaranteed the green jersey.

    • @epincion
      @epincion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@katrinagwen He apparently wants to break Sagan's points record (466) and is currently at 460. This is his motivation for still sprinting but today he was a great ruse for TJV and when he dropped back at just before the 3km mark the sprinters teams took their eyes off TJV.

      Dane here: GCN pronounciation of Vingegaard is close to correct. The "garden" pronounciation you hear on some news outlets comes from lack of language abilities among the journalists.
      The "aa" is equivalent to å, is the eigth vowel in Danish, pronounced like "au" or "eau" in French. I am not aware of equivalents to å in English. As the "aa" or å is the third syllable it is slightly aspirated.
