7 years ago TH-cam randomly recommended me this cyclocross video and I became a wout fan from the first instant. Now, years later, I happily own a bike myself and found thanks to that video my own relief of stress method. I’ve been watching this guy from when he broke into tears winning his first belgian championship cx in 2016. Now he is winning stages in the tour de france, riding in a wonderful strong team and taking the green jersey to belgium! Thank you for this year’s beautiful tour de france! Truly the best and most sincere i’ve seen in the past couple of years.
Vinegaard said it himself; The best rider in the world. Makes Peter Sagan seem normal almost. Waut only needs stage wins in the other grand tour, world champ and OL. He can do it all.
Absolutely an amazing tour, one of the best I’ve seen in my life. I knew last year, Jonas would take the yellow in 2022. He’s so modest, such a great athlete, with an even better attitude. Wout is a different animal altogether, he can do anything, such a strong athlete. They deserve it, that team deserves it.
Always great seeing teammates gifting Statges to each other. Team director for sure told him to slow down a bit at the end once they knew that he was going to run around the same time as Pog, it's a well deserve stage gift for the Almighty Wout!!!

This really was one of the best Tour de France ever, and there were so many revelations of strong new riders. NBC really blew it by ignoring it in the United States - really sad. No prime time replays of the Tour whatsoever on broadcast television.
Two great competitors, only one can win, but both are winners. Displaying sportsmanship not seen in the tour since Eddy slowed and waited for Ocana hearing he had fallen, chasing Eddy on a descent. Great stuff from these 2 great cyclists!

@@TheBirchCreek maybe he didn't push the limit, but it was unlikely he was gonna beat WvA since he was allready losing his lead quickly before he even slipped up in the decent. so even if he gave it his all he would have probably come short since WvA didn't slow down much in his last climb. I think WvA better dosed his efforts so he did a bit slower in the beginning but he kept is up the whole way while vingegaard gave more in the beginning and didn't have much reserves at the end, so he could just take it easy anyway since the 'win' was allready in
I love seeing the passion between jonas and wout. I hope they get to spend their careers together on the same team. It's extra special when it means so much to them. All the training, the ups and downs and then seeing it all pay off for them. It's a rare bond. So pleased for them
Impressive ride from G! Beating Ganna by 10 seconds at his age just shows the form he is in. Just a shame so much younger talent eclipsing him this time round.

Is there anything Wout Van Aert cannot do? The man is an absolute beast! A Tour full of superlatives for TJV, what a 3 weeks it’s been for them. Not without its challenges too but they’ve been strong enough to overcome them all. Best tour in recent memory for mine!

He backed off because on the last descent he had a wobble which is controlled but it made him realise that crashing and losing the whole Tour was not worth pushing hard and taking risks.
Like epincion mentioned, on last descend he almost screwed it all by pushing too hard, he lost momentum and essencial seconds to be able to challenge WVA, before the last bend to the final e knew already he had no chance to win and he was ahead of Pogacar
Okay, I gotta give props and huge respect to the commentator here... I have NEVER heard a British person pronounce names so well. Particularly the Danish names were spot on - and they are HARD for an English speaker to say. Thank you and well done

@@stiginshanghai This year WvA was in 5 place in polka dot jersey competition with 59 points. Just 13 points from first place. Thats nothing. He gets almost same amount of points like Geschke who try really hard for have that jersey. If WvA focus on collecting points, he is definitely capable of winning it. Problem with riders of GC like Jonas or Tadej is that they can get points only on last mountain in stage but not on previous hills in stage becouse they can not get to breakaway too soon.

I remember watching Greg Lemond overhaul Laurent Fignon in Paris in 89 probably the most exiting but cant think of any I've enjoyed more than this year
Look how JV's disc brakes locked up and he skidded off line and almost into the wall. Watch the full replay of it. Whoever thought disc brakes were a good idea for a 25mm tubular at 120psi obviously failed at high school physics.
He got third in both tt´s last year :) so i i figurd he could do a god one again. And this late in the game its often the podium contenters who have most energy left :)

JumboVisma with 3 stage wins for WvA plus green jersey by a mile, 4 days in yellow, and 4 second places plus a third in stages, 2 crucial stages putting JV into yellow and consolidating after team plan executed perfectly, plus CL stage win, and polka dots. Despite losing PR early, which helped JV, he stayed to deliver stage 11 planned attacks and JV would stay in yellow to Paris, JumboVisma 9.9/10. UAE and TP close for most of Tour and 3 stage wins for TP and 5 days in yellow but two big battles won by JV finishing two tactically perfect stage wins from perfectly executed attacks that made up 3 mins deficit, and UAE and TP with reduced team could not reciprocate. UAE 7.5/10. Sprinters teams claimed only 3 stages, plus 2 to Matthews and Pederson. 5/10. Lotto and CE never featured and messed up stage 19 best chance 3.5/10. Other teams with top 10 GC 7/10. BE with Matthews added two second placings to stage win and team nabbed a sprint stage by DG 7/10. IP had 2 stage wins 7/10. Quickstep grabbed surprise stage 1 and held yellow for one day and won one sprint by FJ stage but empty for other sprint stages 6/10. IG and FG will be disappointed with this stage 20 ITT result and opening prologue ITT as lost best chance for days in yellow. GT was solid but never challenged top two. TP won a stage but was there for GC and like AY who just got top 10 GC never challenged top two or even five. 6.5/10.
Nice show for this year's TDF! I do however have a few complaints to register: 1) Stop doing the covid testing. This year's tour was decided largely by covid tests. 2) Add a lot more TT kms, like back in the old days to make the yellow jersey more of an individual prize, OR Start giving a yellow jersey to all the members of the leading team and declare a winning team only, not an individual. 3) Cancel all the sprinting...No more sprint finishes allowed. The TDF is not about sprinting. There are other venues for that.

It is hard to call. It would have been very close between the 2, only a few seconds. I think Vingegaard slowed down a bit after the scare, so I think Wout would have edged it.
Think it depends on how you define it. Some would say he might not win it, so he did not pass it to Wva. But i think he decided to slow down, so i would say yes even tho he might not would win if he tried. Sorry for the bad english, hope you understand what i mean by it ;)
Great day today, great result. Why don’t they have team time trials anymore? Team time trial is far more exciting than individual. I remember Armstrong and US Postal team time trials at the tdf it was artistry in motion.
biggest team = biggest budget = strongest riders = gifting the tdf to that team by taking minutes out of the other teams in the TTT. They should have been ditched and they were.

I think you are biased, plenty are shouting TJV are dopers, it is how this works, the winners are using and the rest is clean. People are just salty that their favorite didn't win and then react like this. it happened to Froome, it happened to Pogacar and now it is happening to Vingegaard and team Jumbo Visma.
I wonder if Roglic wished he had stayed but then again he wasn’t the man this year. I know he crashed but Lawson Craddock finished in 2018 with a broken collarbone he got on stage one

It is hard to call. It would have been very close between the 2, only a few seconds. I think Vingegaard slowed down a bit after the scare, so I think Wout would have edged it.
Think it depends on how you define it. Some would say he might not win it, so he did not pass it to Wva. But i think he decided to slow down, so i would say yes even tho he might not would win if he tried. Sorry for the bad english, hope you understand what i mean by it ;)

Great day today, great result. Why don’t they have team time trials anymore? Team time trial is far more exciting than individual. I remember Armstrong and US Postal team time trials at the tdf it was artistry in motion.
biggest team = biggest budget = strongest riders = gifting the tdf to that team by taking minutes out of the other teams in the TTT. They should have been ditched and they were.

I think you are biased, plenty are shouting TJV are dopers, it is how this works, the winners are using and the rest is clean.
