Sure, upload whenever you can. And finally, we all know your destination…BAHAMAS. But where in the Bahamas, Bimini, Abacos, Exumas, Andros, Eleutheras, or ALL OF THE ABOVE? Be safe!
Wicked awesome seeing my home town of Oriental again. I wish I had known earlier that you were going to stop there so I could have hooked you guys up with my friends. Maybe on the way back in the Spring/Summer? I laughed when Kate was using the dry shampoo hair spray to "look like land people." :) Please keep filming!
Thanks Drake! Oriental was amazing either way the guys down there at the marine store were very cruiser friendly and even offered free bikes. Definitely want to visit there again. Much more to come!
Wicked Salty The people of Oriental are great. All of the shops are friendly. You are absolutly correct about "The Bean" really great coffee. You have to try the chocolate muffin heated with butter, it is to die for. "Sugar Magnolia" isn't far either coming south on the ICW take a right at marker 175 and that is her home on Brown Creek. Wishing y'all fair winds and calm seas.
Wicked Salty Spent many happy days sailing Oriental and Bogue Sound as a teenager with my Dad. All we had was a little day sailor but man that thing would fly in that wind! We refused to come off the water unless absolutely necessary.
I love the shout-outs to the local businesses; I love the generosity of other cruisers; I love seeing this lifestyle really work! Please keep the vlogs coming!
Congratulations on your epic navigation of the Isle of Palms section of the ICW. Im sure you enjoyed Elliot's Cut also. Another very tricky and challenging piece of navigation. It was great to hear you say "when I do this trip again". You seem to really be starting to grasp the responsibility and maturity of a captain. And how to enjoy, adapt to the lifestyle of cruising. I wish I had started when I was young. And three cheers to your young friend. I am really enjoying your work and take care of your partner. Ladies like her are very few and far between. Your a very lucky man.
You both are AWSOME !! I became a subscriber few weeks ago totally entertained with your adventure. I live in St. Augustine florida just so happen to grab a sub for lunch at Flagler beach palm coast florida on a rainy afternoon. I see a s/v approach the bridge in ICW and it was you!!!! Had the chance say hello & wave to you both made my day!
Thanks for the videos youre making. Im looking for a similar size boat. Been sailing in my young days, and want to do it again. If you ever have time it would be awesome to see a video on what would you do differently if you have to buy a boat again. Im pretty sure I'm not the only one of your subscribers who would love to hear your feedback. Best of luck, and dont run out of wind ;)
Have to agree with you on Oriental. My last trip down the ICW we ran into some engine problems. We went to Deaton Yacht Service and stayed 3 days. Never have I gotten so much maintenance done in so little time. Everythimg was first rate, and eveyone was so nice we wondered if it was something in the water.
Awesome you two ran into Sally. I met Sally about a month prior in Beaufort, NC. She rowed over to our dock in her Walker Bay and we talked about her Ericson (I'd previously owned a 30+).
Do you know how that girl got her boat and her future plans? That's awesome she's doing it at such a young age. I wish I had that type of doer attitude a few years back.
you should try Bock Marine on core creek - absolutely awesome people. they have showers and laundry. wi-fi a ships store with very very good prices and a lot of people that are very helpful
Duck in pancakes ~ yummy Why don't you do more fishing? I am looking at flying from the UK to Carolina to purchase a yacht this year. Thanks for the great videos and inspiration.
Shivers. Sally's boat brought back some BAD memories. You know on the older Ericson's, they glassed in the wiring? Tried troubleshooting a bow light from the box, followed it, and bam. Right into glass. WHY!?!?!?!? Was her's a diesel or gas? I hated my Atomic 4. Never would do gas again regardless of how nice the boat was. Good update.
I loved my atomic 4 from a reliability and ease of maintenance standpoint, but yeah being gas, keep the fans blowing and remove the cowling to be safe during start up :)
Where are you now? I see on instgram you have areadypassed thru St Augustine.... Also how far south are you planning to travel? Great adventure and I look foward to seeing more.
i have a question, so if you are living on the boat full time and are away from home, how do you have money to keep up with everything (maintenance, food, fuel etc)
Thumbs up and saved. Keep up the the good work, As a lover of Ericson (former owner of an E25) my wife and I were wondering if Sally is posting on TH-cam or has a web site?
Another person in the comments left this link to follow Sally on her journey from Maine to Florida..... www.pressherald.com/mainer-sally-gardiner-smith-sailing-college/
does sally youtube?.. y'all are so much younger but yet so much braver and smarter than me. I just bought a boat but still to much of a coward to set sail.
Ill bet with oil "crashing" that you have a bit of savings on fill up. A really good time to buy some cheap oil stocks with a monthly dividends to help out with expenses.
We've been following Sally on the Portland Press Herald web site, how wild you ran into her. She is doing a year sailing solo before starting college. www.pressherald.com/mainer-sally-gardiner-smith-sailing-college/ Thanks for sharing your adventures. We hope to be moving to St. Augustine later this year and getting a boat, maybe we'll run into you on your return trip.
I like all your videos..but I have a comment on the way you're filming..almost half of the videos You are talking while the camera close to your face..even your girl was trying to get into the picture and you wouldn't care..!! You can talk and explain like you do but turn the camera around not always close to your face..I do not even remember how is your boat looks like on the inside ..please do not take this personal but we like to see around ..you are not reading the news.
Much more to come! Who wants more regular uploads? I want to turn it into bi-daily and eventually a daily vlog.
Every day sounds nice. Very nice.
Yeah man! I really enjoy your posts!
Sure, upload whenever you can. And finally, we all know your destination…BAHAMAS. But where in the Bahamas, Bimini, Abacos, Exumas, Andros, Eleutheras, or ALL OF THE ABOVE? Be safe!
Sounds good!
great dog, it smiles.

If you have the time... every day would be fun to watch. We'd love to hear more about Sally aswell. The idea of single handed sailing seems very cool.

I hear so many good things about Oriental!
The sailing community is such a small group of people and you never know who you'll run into. Glad you guys are in warmer weather.
your vids help me best when you talk about the troubles you overcome, including free mooring, and anchor info. thanks capt,n
Love the videos. Keep em coming for sure. You guys are a fun couple and I can't wait till you get in warm weather!
Thanks for the vids. I look forward to them. The more the better!

Hahaha I know how crazy. Crazy for me that a subscriber recognized us on the ICW just as I got a bridge opening, made our week!
Really enjoying trip thanks for taking us along with you. Oriental is a sailing hotspot, it has shown up in several sailing videos.
That's what these videos are really about. That whole "It's about the journey, not the destination" thing is real! :)
Your editing is great. Thanks for letting us come along:))
Mark Benson Thanks so much! It's our pleasure!
Thank you so much for showing oriental and especially the Bean. I so want to move there
Good to head south with the boat show boats. Lots of folks gather after the Annapolis show and hit the waterway.
That was a sweet stop. Enjoyed it very much!

Keep them coming, sir!
Love these vids. Sailed the hawaiian waters and loved it. I love sailing...
As a very novice sailor, I enjoy watching your videos a lot and think about someday doing what you two are doing by sailing south. keep up the videos!
Learned how to sail on the pamlico sound around the corner from oriental we used to take bus rides there
That Sally girl is beautiful hopefully I can cross your path during my upcoming cruising adventure!!
Cool episode :) Keep em coming.
I love your videos. Ive seen them all 3 times. Does sally also blog her trip?
Getting warm guys, slowly but surely....
Warren
s/y Legend
Your page gives my girlfriend and I so much motivation! Safe travels always!!
Kate almost sound like Scarlet Johansen when narrating the map. :)
Woot, Oriental and the Bean!
Great video guys.
Great video, Oriental is defiantly on our visit list and they have some of the best craftsmen for repairs and up grade.
Do you know how that girl got her boat and her future plans? That's awesome she's doing it at such a young age. I wish I had that type of doer attitude a few years back.
Waiting on your next video, I'm hooked.
More views of the boat and views while you narrate. Looks like a great time. Be safe.

I am looking at flying from the UK to Carolina to purchase a yacht this year.
Thanks for the great videos and inspiration.
Much more fishing to come! Just got to warmer climates and my brother bought me a nice pole spear before we left :)
Pole spear ~ Lobster for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I could think of worse food.
I am looking forward to the next video.
Keep on sailing
Oh yeah, I agree, the more uploads the better!
Kate your hair is beautiful!

I see from the comments that you made it to Floridia.
When do you think y'all will be making thro Jacksonville fl
We passed it, we're in Daytona plan on leaving here tomorrow!
Wicked Salty Port Canaveral is a cool place, Sebastian inlet as well. Safe travels!
Where are you now? I see on instgram you have areadypassed thru St Augustine.... Also how far south are you planning to travel? Great adventure and I look foward to seeing more.
Hey are you guys still sailing?
i have a question, so if you are living on the boat full time and are away from home, how do you have money to keep up with everything (maintenance, food, fuel etc)
Work hard and save your money. Once you hit the waters you budget your money.
Where are you guys now? Thinking of you .
What is size of Sally's Sailboat Please ?
Still in Daytona ?
2:13 - Wes, why do you have toilet bucket in the cockpit?
Bock Marine even has a car and will take you into beaufort or moorehead for you to go shopping
Thumbs up and saved. Keep up the the good work, As a lover of Ericson (former owner of an E25) my wife and I were wondering if Sally is posting on TH-cam or has a web site?

Great share. Kate and I hung out on her boat last night, were kinda on the same path and pace weirdly enough!
Wicked Salty Convoy!
