    I am glad you are enjoying the clarity of the water, the sunsets and the simple things....I just spent 3 months in Bahamas and it is so difficult to really photograph and video what your eyes really see......Great job guys...

    I am so excited for you two for going on this adventure. I have sailed since I was 15 years old and have always wanted to untie the lines and take off. I am 59 now and still haven't done it. I keep saying I am doing the responsible thing but I think the truth is, I am just missing out on life! ENJOY EACH DAY!

      sachamo100 Hope to see you out there, I'm sure you've had some great memories with much more to come! My dad is 63 and single handed from the Abacos, Bahamas to Charleston this past month. You still got it!

    One last comment on the sunset which is just amazing BTW: Near the end, you can really get a feeling for the Earth's rotational speed. I looked up your approximate location and the Tangential Speed is around 1,000 MPH where you are. That is why you can literally watch the sun set so quickly where as in other locations on Earth where Tangential Speed is only a mere 150 MPH, its like waiting for water to boil. Again, thanks for another great video.......

    Ah, miss those waters....need to get back soon..........as for the sunset....best capture I've seen in years. NICE JOB!!!

    Fantastic views. Cant wait to explore the area. Have you had any un-gluing of your inflatable seams yet? I have a couple Zodiac's and the tropical weather heat/humidity, when the boat sits on your bow gets baked and breaks down the clue. If you do get this problem with the floor letting go or transom order some HH-66 glue, the best stuff to do a repair on your inflatable. Happy sailing, keep up the good work and keep the smiles flowing....

    watched all your vids, looks great! quick tip, boat will be much faster sailing with boom to leeward of centre when sailing upwind. noticed you've had it to windward, acts as a handbrake that way ! happy sailing

    Things I wish people would have told me: Use a filter when pouring diesel into the tank (especially when fuel that is purchased on the grey market in the Bahamas). Always have a spare anchor...Spare GPS...and learning to scuba and getting a kit is not just for recreation. It's great for working on the boat! Scrub that hull! and clear a fouled prop.

    Wes, You know I have been following your voyage since the conception up in Newport. In fact I was just at Fort Adams to watch the start of the Volvo Ocean Race. Newport did a great job. Well you have put yourself in the Cay's during a very interesting pert of the year. Hurricane Season. Runs from now until sometime in October. You should start putting together a plan for Hurricane Holes (places to go ) in the event of a hurricane comes into your cruising ground. So if you decide to visit an island also check the chart and cruising guide if there is a good hole around that you could ride a storm out. Also check over your ground tackle and make sure you have plenty of stores on board and extra cash. Something to place in the back of your mind is that areas around the equator are relatively quite during the hurricane season. It ight be fun to head down to Costa Rica for the summer. Hang 10 !!! Just remember Captain Manning is watching you. Congratulations on yor voyage so far !!FANTASTIC !!

    For the most part I have never spent any time on the water outside of Lil Rhody. I was in Australia a bit ago for a trip and wedding (mine) and was completely shocked at visibility off Great Barrier Reef. We get used to 10 feet being good in RI.
    Keep the videos coming and if/when you return to EG/Warwick I'd be happy to get ya a cold one.

    What awesome footage. That water is extremely clear. Gonna have to sail there. The girlfriend and I just bought a 30 foot sailboat, but right now it's moored in Portland. Keep up the amazing work can't wait to see some more videos

      @xXCatWalkXx 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      RocketRadioShow1 the one in Portland didn't work out. We actually ended up buying a Morgan 33' down in Florida! Our plan is to live there, then eventually sail the gulf to Mexico, then CA, then up to Portland... Let me know if you find a boat! Try and buy one in the city of Portland, so you don't have to pay taxes!!!

    Heading from City Island Bronx NY to Newport for 4th of July for a two week trip this year. I would love to cruise and meet up next year for a few days. You look like you are having so much fun eating hot dogs and beans and exploring different places. We have a little Yorkie too that is getting her sea legs. I appreciate the videos and understand the "camping on a boat" experience that we all do unless you have big money. Be safe and keep doing what you are doing.

    on the sunset part of your vlog it does seem to have a slight quick green flash or it may be just my imagination. I know that super fast action sometimes doesn't show up completely but it did seem ever so slight. Nice tunes with the vlog also, fair winds to you Wes, Kate,+ Lola

  • @911naimplate

    Question regarding boat speed: Are you guys free wheeling your prop or locking it in place. Just saw the latest video on freewheeling vs. locking and freewheeling can add up to 10% boat speed. I am also researching dripless couplings and if you should freewheel or not due to possible lubrication issues. Provided you have a traditional stuffing box however, free wheeling is the way to go.

    I watched the vlog again and didn't see a green flash like i thought was so slight the first time i watched it, oh well. I guess the sky has to have no haze or clouds on the horizon to see one, just my guess. Have you tried to do an all night timelapse of the sky? I think it always looks cool to see those in fast motion especially when they have meteor showers in them. fair winds to you guys. P.S. I liked the way you ended the other vlog with a Lola bark at the very end when you showed the Wicked Salty logo, It put a smile on my face :-)

      Cleo Torris There are numerous sources and books that let you know what the costs are to do what we are. There's a great book out there called "The Essentials of Living Aboard a Boat" and it realistically lays out all costs of the process, boat buying, size boat, dock fees, insurance etc. I read it before I left and after experiencing a year of the lifestyle it is pretty accurate.
