Hah! I'm glad the good vibes come through - the next video will be a binge watch in itself . . Long. It's natural story just covers a lot of territory -boat issues, beauty and enjoying the journey. More for you in a day or two. Thanks again for being part of the crew.
Thanks for the ride again, Dennis! Your descriptions of getting in and out of places and showing us the fun to be had along the way are among the best! Thank you for that!
Happy you are along, Bob. The Lions have not crumbled yet and your Cowboys (I imagine) are looking dangerous - so they'll see each other in the playoffs, I hope. Not a lot of time for football watching on this journey. Days are long and I'm usually up early. Weather keeps me busy, too - like today it's blowing like stink in Charleston. I will be in sunny Florida soon with more-exotic views for you and the rest of the crew. Thanks again for joining me earlier along the way on this adventure.
Omg, Nathan - I miss mountain biking a lot; especially with a pro like you (2003:X-Games for those interested - and 2004 The Day is Over BMX movie on Vimeo). Yeah, sailing is an adventure, fun and scary sometimes. Like mountain biking, with real bathrooms 😅 I'll check-in with you soon, Bud.
Hey, Tim - thank you for setting aside time to share the adventure. Pinned down in Charleston today but I plan to be on my way soon. I hope you have a great holiday with people you love - I'll do some remote chatting on the hook in Beaufort. Enjoy, Sir
Hey, Jeff - I appreciate you taking an interest, Bud. I hope you and the misses are able to achieve the dream. Biggest lessons for me: maintaining healthy muscle is a bigger challenge than I imagined - and I allude to that reality a bit; and become comfortable with uncertainty. Technology makes sailing less 'risky' as you likely know. I'm finding that managing the risks of identifying good anchorages is a buildable skill - and I like that I'm getting better at it. Lin and Larry Pardey famously promoted in their books to 'Go small, go now.' I'll agree with their broader sentiment, don't try to be an expert at everything because you will learn so much within the experience. Good luck.
Yes! I re-set my anchor in the cut outside Charleston . . . The current is wicked at title change. My re-set worked like I was using a bowling ball, so I pulled up the anchor and found legacy crab pot rope had tangled in my anchor like spaghetti. Like a laundry basket of rope. I moved along after that. Conversely, Adam's creek was a treat #IloveSeaweed@
Great to see you cranking the old gal up and getting her on a heel. 6kts of speed in that wind - not too shabby at all. We are leaving for our short ocean race on Friday and it has taken us nearly two months to get the boat to the next safety category so we can participate the race but the wind is only looking like it will be 7kts. We will be jealous of your wind. However, it will be a balmy 80 dgrees F - summer down here!! I will send you some photos with my crew mug and you can be part of our crew.
I think sailors like oriental because its a natural point to stop at. Theh also have great facilities such as sailcraft and deatons boatyards on the west side of whittaker creek. Fair winds
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Danette! Chicken for me on the hook in Beaufort, SC. Happy to get the heck out of Charleston - whew - bad weather. Hope you are happily sunk into an easy chair with a pumpkin pie buzz 😊
Thanks for sharing. Can you share more about your experience (sailing / boating). I have minimal experience but am considering buying a Catalina 36 in the next year or so to liveaboard while I continue working( at least another 2-3 years). Then I would like to do something similar to what you seem to be doing. I've got no set-in stone plans, mostly just dreams at this point.
Nice sail Dennis: you’re moving right along…big thanks for taking the timeN’effort to post the terrific video’s.
Two thumbs up 👍

I enjoy the adventure - and glad to have more purpose in this journey through sharing. I really appreciate you being on that end. Thanks.

Wife and I enjoy your videos. We are working towards achieving this dream 2024.

Jackson as in Jackson Hanson? Cool!! Love the video of the dolphins.
Loving this! Thank you for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving. 🍁
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for sharing. So happy to see another video from you this morning!
Good job sailing in the narrows. 🎉
Same spot on Adams I used to ride out a blow. Same houses where you will land if anchor slides. Hang in there Dennis!

Hey, i have been watching Jim for years..he lives couple hours away from us. He and his brother won yhe show Alone.. great channel.
Yeah, he's great. You live in my favorite ski territory - all along the Columbia Valley in BC. Jim's trips are epic. Thanks again.
Great Video! Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving ‼️⛵️⚓️🎸🍻

Hah! I grounded while making space for a boat to pass. Yikes. More careful now. Yes - very, very narrow in the rock pile section.
