- The Flintstones? What could a visit to St Michael's Church, Chagford, Devon have to do with The Flintstones? Well, during my visit a pianist, Sophia Surenovna McKett, was practicing for a concert the next day and kept playing a melody that seemed familiar to me. I jokingly added the text 'Flintstones...we're the Flinstones' over the melody in the video. However, whilst doing research I came across information that confirmed that The Flinstones melody 'is derived from part of the 'B' section of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 17 Movement 2, composed in 1801/02' - which was what Sophia was playing (amongst, I think, other tunes). Mystery solved! Enjoy my explorations from your sofa @HimInChurch

Wooooo another lovely church journey! Awesome piano playing!
Yes, wasn't it! Have a great daisy!! 😘
@@HimInChurch You tooooooo!! :D
👍
Thank you 🤗
23:28 it looks like a "raised" church graveyard, a sure sign that the graveyard is very very full, churches would often import soil to maintain an adequate grave depth over time. Even when you think you're not stepping on someone there, there is almost certainly someone beneath your feet.
Oh, thanks for this information - gives me a bit more reassurance whilst walking through the graves, knowing I probably could not have avoided anyone, anyways!
Can you do me a favor, go to St Michael's Church, Musbury, Devon, England to see The Drake memorial., Sir Knight John Drake/Sir knt. Bernard Drake.?
Yes, I'm happy to do so, when I'm in that area. 🤗 I looked it up and I live some considerable distance from it, so it's not something that is likely to happen soon. Is it related to your family genealogy or something?
@@HimInChurch Yes, Sir Knight John Drake, Bernard, is my 12th 13th Great Grandfather on my Mother', Mother's Father's side of Drake famiiy. Thank you!
Interesting. I’ve made a mental note to go there when I’m in the vicinity. Have a good day 🤗
