  • What a delightful welcome awaits the visitor to St Mary & All Saints Church, Kidderminster. English Puritan church leader, poet, hymn-writer, theologian, and controversialist, Richard Baxter, preached here. Surprisingly, the church doesn't feature in Simon Jenkins 'England's Thousand Best Churches' though, based on its interior, I most certainly would have included it! Explore this vibrant place with me and let me know what you think of it, in the comments section. NB. Thank you to Peggy Guest, for guiding me around. Let's go! @HimInChurch

Thank you for showing us this beautiful Church and garden. 🌳. The lovely stain glass windows letting the light through of the Saints. 😇. The bows on seats were most likely put there for a Wedding. 👰‍♀️ 🤵Thank you very much, Wendy. 👏 🙏💐😊.

I’m not entirely certain, but from Google (!) it says ‘Earliest part the chancel consecrated in 1315. Perpendicular tower and nave; the tower, which is crenellated, was refaced in 1895 at the time of the extensive restoration by Sir Giles Scott. Chantry rebuilt early C16. C18 vestry. Memorial cloister 1887. Whittall chapel 1922, by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Good C15 monuments include the Beauchamp and Cokesey tombs and various brasses.’
