I am half Mauritian as my mum is black Mauritian and my dad white French. I was born in France and brought up in London. I am married to a Jamiacan and so is half my Mauritian side of the family LOL, My hubby loves Mauritius....Mauritius Party in the park every year in London is packed and you see LOADSSSSS of Jamican flags we have our Mauritian, Jamaican and French flag up on our chairs etc
As stated my hubby loves Mauritius and they know he's Jamaican he's treated like royalty lol

Whagwaan!? Nice to know that we have Jamaicans there! Here in Mauritius we use french language for salutations mainly like Bonjour for goodmorning and to say Bye we say effectively😅 bye or ba bye or salam or "nou zouenn" to "say see ya"! We say Irie too but here we say "Serye"! Bigup from mauritius island!

The Hindu Festival is called Maha Shivatree and takes place at Gunga Talao which is the equivalent of the Ganges in India. Usually takes place February/March.

Correction... I was in Mauritius in 2005.. I used to live and work there. There are Jamaicans there but they are so integrated you can't tell. There is also a blended Afro Indian population and Afro Chinese population too. But Indians are 75 to 80 percent of the population

Biryani originates from india and it was brought to India by the Moghuls from Middle East as they had invaded and ruled India for over a century.

🇯🇲 Probe a little more Xavier.
Ask when was their last visit to Jamaica?
Without being negative....just like her likes ask about dislikes as well, only because most interviewees all seems to be contended wherever they are.

Sweet lady living in Mauritius! Welcome. As observing few things and as a born raised in my beautiful island. We need to be clear of few things here, we as a peaceful nation don’t want invasion of any other kind who say that they share the Mauritian culture and take job that the Locals are struggling to get after many years of studying… Secondly don’t come to a Country and settling and bashing about that you wish to have things that you can’t get from your native country! If it has been such a concern and nostalgic GO BACK TO WHERE YOU ARE FORM! In this case JAMAICA! Simple 😊
