I love these podcasts!!! Where do you find people with hearts like she has. This lady is a living legend! I was born in England to Jamaican parents. Grew up in Jamaica from I was a young child, did my primary school there, split my high school days between Canada and Jamaica with University also in Canada where I now live most of the time. I was thinking of looking at Ghana for house and land to live after this pandemic cools down a bit. Even though myself and family already have house and land in Jamaica I can go to, but have been turned off by the violence I've seen myself and heard of and grew up with in Jamaica. With all these positive stories though I might have to take a second look at Jamaica. I still do visit when I can cause I do have close family down there, but wasn't planning to go back to live. I'm sure Ghana has their own brand of crime and violence, I just haven't seen or heard how it is down there, I will have to visit and experience the place for myself. Africa is somewhere a lot of us want to go to anyway. Happy to hear people talk about Jamaica in a positive light, and also doing positive things for the people down there. They need to provide jobs for these young people so they don't turn to crime as easily. The educational structure has to made available to all young people no matter what financial background you come from. Jobs have to be a reality for people who complete school at any level, high school and post secondary education. So they can provide for themselves and feed their families and elders. Love, appreciation and humility to everyone living down there in Jamaica. It is a place of beauty and natural fruits and food like not many other places. I send my love to the Caribbean.
Consider home, It you have family and friends here , it makes sense. If you would like to speak to someone living in Ghana let me know, I have a friend there with her husband and she will be happy to talk with you, She seems quite happy by the way.

I agree Misty just watch your surroundings you will be just fine know where have crime than over this side. Great interview looking forward to be in Negril
I just got off the phone with a Govt. official and fact of the matter is the statistics do not bear out the notion that returnees in particular are targeted from crime here in Jamaica. That was the population i was referring to specifically. That myth keeps many a good Jamaican from returning to make Jamaica their home again and contribute.
I don’t know this lady, but I like her. Her spirit and warmth just radiates and she’s someone I’d love to share a red stripe or a coconut with. Thanks for sharing this. 👍🏾👏🏾
Awesome interview so much highlighted and learn alot about the parish ...people like these bring out the true beauty of the island so much to explore and contribute to helping the less fortunate ...keep up the amazing work❤🇯🇲
You can't say everything you want to say in the context of an interview. Just this morning I was talking to another African - American friend who moved here a few years before I did and is STILL living happily and safely here in Negril. We were talking about Belmont and the area around 9 mile, both of which I have stayed in. NO VILLAS , I stayed in people's homes in the community. In 9 mile for example, my hostess was leaving off for work and did not lock her door. When I reminded her she should lock it she told me no one there locks their doors and no one troubles anything. In Belmont my friends and I spread all our electronics out on the veranda, so when we were about to leave our host saw us gathering things up to store them and told us to leave them right where they were , everything will be fine. Our Negril based experience did not like that idea , but we did it . Over our entire stay there, it was so nice, windows open, door unlocked , no issues. WE FELT FREE. There are MANY communities in beautiful Jamaica like this where the pressure is off , and the living is perfect. You can't tell people not to come back here because they will be the target of crime or worse, when that is NOT TRUE about the whole of this beautiful island. Like in Treasure Beach area, and Alligator Pond is another space I can think of. I just want to neutralize the hysteria with another perspective.
I'm so grateful to come across this interview. Ms. Misti is amazing. I'm contemplating my retirement next year and the exodus from America. I'm definitely going to visit Negril. Great interview!👑👍
Visited Jamaica several times from 1989 in Mobay, Ochi, & Negril, with Negril being my favorite. Stayed at Hotels, All Inclusives, & Airbnb's. My favorite place to to stay in Negril was formerly, Our Past Time, a family owned property on 7 Mile Beach. My relationship with the owner was so good, I stayed there for an entire month on one occasion. Been longing to go back, but Covid has put a hold on my travel. I'll be back, as soon as things get under control.😎
Just think about every single person who left Jamaica and then returned to do either 6 months here or live full time. Ok now calculate that # in you mind. You have to count every single person who returned and is still living here who returned. Ok now think about the crimes you have heard about and the # of returnees. Now do you see my point? I am not talking about the overall crime stats, just the ones against returnees, and now the notions people have just don't make sense. now do they? There are THOUSANDS, literally THOUSANDs of returnees living here happily and peacefully. We cannot focus our energy and attention solely on the bad in this life.
Misti - Thank you for re-enforcing what I always knew about my country. That is why I retired back home. Not Negril but in just as safe and great area to retire to in the South East St. Elizabeth/South Manchester area where the life of a retiree is absolutely great and affordable..
I cannot wait to go back to Negril. I love the 7 mile beach, I haven’t been every where but, she probably has, and says that is the most beautiful of beaches. I agree❣️
I respect educators Ms. Misti and Jamaican education is top notch which is one of the many reasons we’re coming back so our son can go to school there. We’re soon to return too Ms. Misty! I’m in my late 30s but by God’s grace I’ll be retired this time next year. I’ll still be youngish so I’m trying to see what I can do to help create opportunities for my fellow local Jamaican people. Not trying to take jobs from anyone there.
Love this interview inspirational lady! She is very intelligent and brings people together. Crime happens everywhere here in the UK it is swept under the carpet and downgraded to an incident. Have faith pray for Jamaica if you are that concerned about 'crime' we claim to be people of faith and yet quite a lot of us happily slag off Jamaica. I don't hear English people slagging off the UK. They big it up and have mad love for their country even the bad weather! In short they make the best of things. Wherever I go I big up Jamaica and people are always so kind and generous towards me. . .
Misti is the reason I'm moving to jamaica .I'm from Tennessee, And jamaica reminds me of the South, and Southern people can adapt to anything .We love Greenery .

I'm Portuguese living in Florida but my heart is in Jamaica. I want to retire there in Montegobay.
I think that's a good idea
Hi.... I loved this video. I shared it with a friend who lives in trawlany... I felt so proud listening to misty bigg up Jamaica.. It has given me so many ideas for the area I am planning to return to in Jamaica (ST MARY)...
Once again an excellent that I happen to stumble upon...
Stay safe.
Sharon I love the St. Mary area very dearly. I hope you do return and help this land .
Thanks for sharing!!
That was so great to listen to. Hearing Misty talk so passionately about Negril and Jamaica generally.
Thank you
Thanks for listening
I agree Misty just watch your surroundings you will be just fine know where have crime than over this side. Great interview looking forward to be in Negril
I just got off the phone with a Govt. official and fact of the matter is the statistics do not bear out the notion that returnees in particular are targeted from crime here in Jamaica. That was the population i was referring to specifically. That myth keeps many a good Jamaican from returning to make Jamaica their home again and contribute.
thanks for watching
I love Ms Misty’s FB page! During the 8 months I couldn’t visit Negril, the page kept me from getting too home sick. This was a great interview Throp.
Terri it makes me feel good to know this
Thank you! and thank you for sharing
That is my favorite seat, it provides the most amazing view... better to be there in person 🙂...❤️🇯🇲

I don’t know this lady, but I like her. Her spirit and warmth just radiates and she’s someone I’d love to share a red stripe or a coconut with. Thanks for sharing this. 👍🏾👏🏾
Just let me know when you are in Negril, a red stripe sounds good

❤️❤️❤️ this Lady, great ambassador for Jamaica 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you so much
Thank you so much!
Just seeing this video. I am really inspired by Ms Misti. She is giving of herself to a country she has no attachment to. 🙏
Great interview. Mixed on the whole retirement topic
thanks for watching
This lady is awesome. I have gained so much information. Thank you
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much
I'm so grateful to come across this interview. Ms. Misti is amazing. I'm contemplating my retirement next year and the exodus from America. I'm definitely going to visit Negril. Great interview!👑👍

Yeah Misti Memphis. Nuff Love to Misti. Great lady, great interview.
Thank you for watching
Thank you R Thomas
Good interview
Visited Jamaica several times from 1989 in Mobay, Ochi, & Negril, with Negril being my favorite. Stayed at Hotels, All Inclusives, & Airbnb's. My favorite place to to stay in Negril was formerly, Our Past Time, a family owned property on 7 Mile Beach. My relationship with the owner was so good, I stayed there for an entire month on one occasion. Been longing to go back, but Covid has put a hold on my travel. I'll be back, as soon as things get under control.😎
This is home for you then . .
Thank you for watching
Awesome interview Winthrope my Sisterfriend KimBey told me about Misti a while ago Jah willing i will be there soon💛💚🖤
Yes! I'm doing the same. Bringing awareness to the real lives of Jamaicans.
awesome! I'm happy to hear
Great content good interview with this young lady.
Thank you very much
Thank you for watching
Thank you Misti for keeping it real. The negatives are so loud, we can hardly hear the positives.
Thank you for watching
Misti - Thank you for re-enforcing what I always knew about my country. That is why I retired back home. Not Negril but in just as safe and great area to retire to in the South East St. Elizabeth/South Manchester area where the life of a retiree is absolutely great and affordable..
I am in your area visiting now and I concur with you 100
thank you for watching
I cannot wait to go back to Negril. I love the 7 mile beach, I haven’t been every where but, she probably has, and says that is the most beautiful of beaches. I agree❣️
Great interview 🙏🏿
I respect educators Ms. Misti and Jamaican education is top notch which is one of the many reasons we’re coming back so our son can go to school there. We’re soon to return too Ms. Misty! I’m in my late 30s but by God’s grace I’ll be retired this time next year. I’ll still be youngish so I’m trying to see what I can do to help create opportunities for my fellow local Jamaican people. Not trying to take jobs from anyone there.
I hope you work your plan and plan your work. Jamaica will be lucky to have your family here
absolutely amazing
Great video. I got to meet Misti Aug 2023 in Negril. She was walking on the beach & sat in the lounge chair next to me. I wish the 🇺🇸 would allow dual citizenship….. until my next return 🇯🇲💕🇯🇲💕🇯🇲💕🇯🇲💕🇯🇲
Thanks for coming to our country it's a beautiful place no matter what.

So interesting since I got back from Travelers Beach Resort, your videos started popping up in my feed. My husband and I are really looking at moving to Jamaica. I was born there and he’s a first generation. Interesting that you have a TH-cam channel but you appeared so reserved when we saw you.
Awesome! Thank you for staying with us! Best of luck to you and your husband in making the move here. I think it’s a great idea. I will be having more guests on who have made the move here. Hope you’re able to get more value from those videos. Thanks for watching!
@@Throp Yes,,your videos are informative. Next time we are there, chat a little. We don’t bite, 😆 we are actually from the same place here in the state. Best of luck with your growing channel.
