    There's several videos of guys with 35-40's that struggle with log jam. Would have been nice to see how the FJ would have done, however, being alone i believe you did the right thing. Awesome video, thanks for the share.

      only thing id take over that would be dedicated rock crawler,,or my cab chassis s/duty,on 42,s. bigger the beast,,smaller the opposition..above all,you need wheel travel..ifs is junk..weak..

    Thank you so very much for actually telling us what trail you were on!!! This was a great video. I love the different creative angles and drone shots.

    So now that you have done south west desert and north west Forrest. Do you have a favorite? Please do not consider the 100+ temps of the desert in your choice. It's way too much a factor.

      I don't know. They're so different. It would just depend on the trail. The heat is bad in the desert, but I don't like rain either. 😄

    I did this trail today in my FJ. I run stock suspension (no lift) with 265/75/16 tires basically (31.5”) tire size. This trail was an absolute blast. I had to be careful in more than a few spots but I got it done. My engine skid plate was halfway ripped off and twisted by the time I was finished.

    Cool video and crazy trail. You're brave for doing it alone and I appreciate all the effort you put into making your videos!

      35,s at least,manual trans,2 solid diffs.winch front & rear.4" min lift. THEN, go out..FJ,s too short too low,IFS. look pretty,built on the prado chassis. trade it for a 96 toyota 80 series,or same,gu nissan... nissan the better choice. anything with 2 diffs.

    I just did Gotcha for the first time last Sunday. Conditions were a bit muddier than what your video shows. As always, it's much more advanced looking in person than on video. I have to agree that it's the perfect offroad trail.

      Offroad Hub I did it again after this comment! I did the log jam. I high centered half way through (3"/35s). It would probably have been doable in dryer conditions and a different line.

    I have a 2020 TRD Off Road 4Runner with 4” lift and KO2s. Would you recommend this place for some lite to mid off road if or would I be in over my head? Obviously my vehicle being new I wouldn’t want to destroy it but I’m looking for some places to take it and get it dirty and do some fun off-roading within reasonable “roughness”

    • @offroadhub.official
      @offroadhub.official  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Gotcha is perfect for that. There are a few others that are also supposed to be on the milder side. Just do not do Busywild... 😄

    • @Mountaincajun
      @Mountaincajun 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jimmey Nicholson the sunrise trail, or most of Tahuya would be good for your 4runner. I just recently got a 2017 4runner and have been itching to take it off-road.

    this is mostly what I ve been trough as off road experience.
    wet, muddy forest. mostly on my foreman,
    now with the fj, I m not sure where to go.
    most of the trails I used to do were too narrow,
    and are now mostly closed, as they were private lands,
    and the owners got tired of hearing the quads go by,
    and also some damage to their trees and such.
    looking at your videos, I m inspired to check more seriously.
    with the covid, we re kind of limited as to what we can do...
    and since 2017, I have the fj to play with.
    I mostly drift in empty remote parkings, but it s getting old.
    without a winch however, I m limited to the difficulty level,
    and have no friend to go safely.
    maybe I should look for a local club or something...
    I figure that I will run out of interest in watching videos.
    and it also inspires me to go out and do it myself.
    I did yesterday and got a bit stuck, barely escaped shovelling...
    the snow was packed, and the fj suddenly dropped like a rock,
    pffouu! uh, oohhh...! I have Russian winter tires, but they are over 50%.
    I have the shovel and traction aids, but still, it s not fun, and it s cold.
    good show team!

      Definitely find a local club! You'll probably discover there's more to do in your area than you thought, hopefully.

      I was just there and the only reason I didn't run the log jam was because there was I-5 traffic waiting to run it. But a JKU on 35s made it, and hit most all the obstacles nearly perpendicularly-making articulation a non-issue. I think there's a good chance I could make it in my FJ on 35s, and if I couldn't, the worst that would happen would be high-centering.

    • @offroadhub.official

      @SkilletsUSMC 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Offroad Hub I definitely understand. I was commenting more about the suggestion that an FJ on 35s would get skull dragged. It would do pretty well. It might get stuck it might not but it’s not going to be completely hopeless..
