I think this is the 2nd video I have seen in which Mr Thorson has referred to Liberace as 48 years his senior. According to Wikipedia Liberace was born in May ‘19 and Thorson was born in Jan ‘59, and so just under 40 years separated them.
Why do people think that a person involved with a "famous person" shouldn't have the right to share their side of the story? It was their life being lived as well. Just because they share their side of the life situation does not make them disloyal or out for money. Two lives on one path will still have two viewpoints, and there's nothing wrong with sharing both viewpoints.
Something tells me Liberace wouldn't be laughing about this.
I wish Liberace would have taken more of an interest in the boy's future and sent him to school to become a Veterinarian. It seems like he used Scott, and when he became a drug addict, he was discarded like trash. Very sad.

Lol ;) also "If" the movie were as close to the real thing as a movie can, Liberace was a narcissistic, borderline malignant pig, who only ever talked about himself. I don't mean to offend any fans, as he was one of the greatest entertainers, but to promise to take care of someone who could have been a vet and dump them for the new toy in the store is soooooooo wrong. People like that usually do die alone. There is a syndrome or disorder that "some" really rich and famous ppl can get. Basically they are so used to having every thing done for them, no-one saying no, ppl never interrupting them during conversation, so they develop a coping mechanism . It's an extension of the show. An eg of this behavior is evident in the movie as Liberace talks, constantly about his achievements ect, and they waffle on not knowing when to stop and let the other speak. They cant hold a decent convo. Lib was a cunning, deceitful, calculating, manipulating and showy, but underneath all the fur, wigs, diamond & gold was a dark soul. He was older than Scott and new the Gay scene, like he himself said" I want to be your father, brother lover etc.". He should have guided Scott, but instead used him up and then once his expiry date was up, he went kid hunting, new fresh piece of meat of the rack!!!!!
He was an orphan. Always feeling alone even amongst people who loved him but never having a real family. He was young, gay and naive to the indulgent wealth and fame of the life that he was offered. I believe that Li used this loneliness Scott had with the idea of being family and adopting him. As well as trying to cover the fact that he was gay. He gave him every little thing his heart desired with all the trappings of the luxurious life. Scott believed he loved Li and did everything to please him. Even opening himself up to being surgically altered for the pleasure of his loved one and then becoming addicted as anyone taking those kinds of prescriptions could. This story may come across differently but I see it as a somewhat tragic story as old as time. More tragic is that Scott is still an addict and getting into trouble and doesn't seem to let go of the victim mentality that keeps him on that path. It is a story worth telling and it explains a lot of the past, but he still needs to take responsibility for the present for the future of his life.

Liberace had a plastic surgeon make Scott look like him. Scott appears to be on drugs during this interview. Liberace did not treat Scott fairly when he ended things. A gift is a gift, not just for the time you are with him. Liberace was a great showman, but not great in his personal life.

I loved Liberace! As a child I watched him every time he was on TV. I had no idea he was gay nor did I even know gay existed. I adored piano and wanted desperately to play but my family could not afford lessons so watching Liberace was my link to music. He was amazing and I miss him.

The money has been out. He didn't make a dime off the movie, nor was he consulted. He didn't own publishing rights to his own book. He's serving 20 years in prison and has cancer.
I have no problem with him writting the book or the movie or doing all the interviews, just get all the stores straight. Don't say one thing and then say another. The adoption never really took place because of the troubles they had.

Before the modern era, meaning recently, homosexuality was a hidden world, where polite people ignored it and society condemned it. It was easier for older generations to believe that he may have been flamboyant and feminine but that with no hard proof it was best to assume the best rather than deal with very popular people being demonized...it shatters preconceptions...makes people uncomfortable...I remember when cops would raid gay bars and arrest anyone there on morals charges as it was illegal to be gay. No wonder he hid it most of his life.

Its a fantasy a dream to have it all when you are just 16. Maybe he was an opportunist or maybe he was a naiive boy . But that's just what he was a messed up boy.
