I was banging my head trying to get this done on my Lenovo Chromebook Duet, which comes with a detachable keyboard but the usual “Esc-Refresh-Power” combo does not work. This tutorial worked however and it was much appreciated!
@@zombieninja300 Yes, It’s like a factory reset except it also has the developer mode options. The browser settings that were saved to the cloud will carry right back over if you login with the same google account, but you have to re-download google play apps and Linux container apps.
You are awesome! Thank you so much! I'm trying to turn my tablet into a fully functional gaming device. 😁 I've had my tablet for almost a year now and couldn't find instructions to put it into developer mode. But you just made that possible for me and I appreciate your help! 🖤
@@heraki9969 I'm guessing you have to disable and then enable verification mode using the keys as shown and it should wipe it. Unfortunately/fortunately I never had to perform this procedure in the last 4 years!
Thanks man but when i was doing that, in the exactly moment when i put off developer mode i don't move anything i just leave ir for leas than 1 minuto and start sound a loud alarma sing and it's restart himself
It used to be a toggle that did not “factory reset” your Chrome OS device, but since it essentially grants root level access and allows you to side load APKs and allows run full Linux programs directly without the need for virtual containers, it’s the very definition of insecure. I don’t think there would have been an easy way to keep anything that was on the device. But with that said, a warning disclaimer for a tutorial like this would have been proper due diligence.
Couldn't find anything that was this simple online, thank you

Did activating the developer mode delete your data?

Just curious, are you able to factory reset/wipe from this screen without a keyboard? The normal procedure has you hit Ctrl-D.
you should know the answer after 4 year's I'm waiting 👍

same idk
I’m late to reply, but you just do exactly what he does: press the up and down volume buttons, and power. Make sure the keyboard isn’t connected
Don't make a difference if your keyboards connected
What to do if developer mode is disabled by system policy
Just did the step again and it beeped that developer mode is on
Thanks man but when i was doing that, in the exactly moment when i put off developer mode i don't move anything i just leave ir for leas than 1 minuto and start sound a loud alarma sing and it's restart himself

@RobertoGM4601 I just found out
Will this work on Pixel Slate as well?
yes, or use the keyboard entry combo
Very grateful to you. How to restart the chrome tablet please?
You should have told us it was going to cancel everything we have saved on the device
