Life saver, I honestly thought I’ve messed up and bought a Chromebook that I wouldn’t be able to do all my tinkering with. Thank you so much
THanks for the video. After several attempts with using the volume key and power button I finally managed to get into developer mode.
Gosh this video is so good, useful and very well walked through, if more people were like you the earth would be a better place
Ima be watching your videos for the next month getting my duet perfect
Thank you! I was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out with the guides for older, non-tablet devices
You're very welcome!
been trying this for months. YOU ARE CLEAN BROTHER
For those who having a broken power button, just using the keyboard case, hold down volume button and flip the device up, it will automatically boot into recovery
Brilliant video, concise and we'll explained. Thank you.
Thanks ...after long search I finally found how to do this on my chromebook duet 😁
Does it damage the system?
@@Kiran-wp2sz it's safe
Thank you very much for the very good and helpful description. Helped me a lot in the same device you are using
You saved me from going insane and I couldn't wait so I fell on your video and my probelm is lonnggg solved now :D !!

THAT WAS SOOO HELPFUL!! Thank you!!!
Thank you
Exactly what I needed
Thank you so much for this video!
You helped solve my problem!
Thank you so much I was searching for so long but I didn’t find the correct chrome book. Thank you
Thanks so much my friend...you've saved me a lot of time...hope to see you in other videos 😉
Enabling developer mode is a different process on the latest Lenovo Duet but this did get me in the right track. Thank you!
How did u do it

Don't you just hate morons like him? "Hey guys, I got mine to work w/a totally different method. Bye!"
Anyways, I have a Lenovo duvet 3. I had to press the three buttons in the top left corner (power + vol up + vol down) at the same time, then hold for about 8 seconds, then release all at the same time.
i did the same as the video on my 2023 duet 3? it works tho the button layout is different ofcourse
Thank you so much ! Mission accomplished. I got lucky and was able to get to the "insert recovery .." on my first try
You're voice is perfect for making content! 🙏
Your video is good in Jun 2024... Well done.
Bro is the absolute GOAT🐐 🐐🐐 this guy was the only useful guide
Thanks man!
This helped me out.
I did something on my laptop that caused it to remove the task bar.
After accessing this menu i was able to perform a restore point and it went back to normal.
Thanks for this, works on the e10 !
Thanks a lot, first tutorial I found, which is working on my Lenovotablet ;-)
Most helping video I ever seen 😁👍🏽
thanks! followed the step and work on my 2023 duet 3!!!
Thank you very much! Did it in the first time!
I bought one today. It's really 👍🏿 great. I'm just very new to it though. Got mine from Aldi ✌🏿🙂.
Cheers, I have subbed. Ludicrous that you have to do this just to install your own APK's but oh well.
If anyone is having issues, make sure you are using BOTH volume up and down as well as the power buttons - it was where I was going wrong.
Gracias estuve buscando esto por mucho tiempo, no había encontrado ningún vídeo sobre el tema en mi idioma ..... Gracias!!!
Thanks a lot all the other videos were not helpful cause I didn't fave the power button on the keyboard. So the escape refresh power button didn't work. But your way worked 4 me.
This worked perfectly. Stupid me forgot I was basically using a tablet. Now I can get my music and movie apps yay! Lenovo has done an amazing job with this tablet. Now all we need is for Google to put some more love into chrome os.
Bro thanks for the video I got so scared when my finger slipped and selected boot system before you said to select it😂
Man thank you this saved me .
Man your a god every other tutorial just say press power refresh and ESC button 😅
it actually works thanks man you saved me lol
Thanks dude!
Thank you!
Thanks I appreciate u so much🙌🏾🙏🏾
Much appreciated
Thank you so much! I bought a Lenovo Duet from a closeout store that was stuck in demo mode and this helped me get the tablet out of it.
Thanks for the video
THANKS SO MUCH
Thanks it worked
Comment for the algorithm
Fantastic video 😊
Lenovo duet plus Xcloud plus Xbox controller
Portable Xbox 👌🏻
Thanks bro 🥺
Thanks dude
Thx mate!
Do you also get an error while activate debug functions? I cannot enable those for some reason.
Thanks for the video great help . Does that mean evertime power off the device or it runs out of battery I've git reset it all again 👍
No. Every time you power on the device, you'll be greeted by the menu shown at 3:25. So whenever you power off/run out of battery, you'll have to manually navigate to the "Boot from internal disk" to boot up the device in developer mode (which can be a hassle). Once you get past that step though, you should boot up into your Chromebook with all your account info, apps, files, etc. being like they were prior to powering off the device.
Si descargo una aplicación con este modo, al desactivsrlo la app funcionaría igual o no?
very helpfull. thx
GOSH THANK YOU
Thx u! Plis more videos for this duet Chromebook
Dude you are a God! I've been battling to remove my daughters Main Family link User for weeks. As I researched for ever and finally gave up when not even Google would help. Family Link Tech support no longer exist and I had given up. So now I figures I open developers options to use it with APK apps. I'm writing this as I wait the 5 minutes. AND SO IT WORKED!!! MAKE A VIDEO WHICH DOESNT EXIST AS OF NOW BY TITLE IT REMOVING FAMILY LINK USER WHEN USER EMAIL HAVE BEEN DELETED. I am going to sale this thing now. It has been the worst Lenovo product I've purchased by far. I've had Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 , the Pro version after and have currently a ThinkPad. But this was a nightmare dealing with ChromeOS. Thank you very much Liked, Shared and Subscribed is the least I could do!
❤ Really good

How do I go to the Home Screen on dev mode
Hi I'm still not able to download apk files even after starting the development mode, can you please explain why this must be happening?
Gracias Funciona Excelente
Thanks
Do you know how to install split apks via adb. I tried to create a session and install but I don't know how to put my apks in data/tmp folder
Thanks for the video. I have a question, is it possible to install microsoft office on Lenovo IdeaPad Duet, because i have one and i tried to install crossover but it doesn't work.
Not really. No. You might be able to install the mobile (android) version of Microsoft Office, but the normal Microsoft Office just isn't supported by the Duet (and most other Chromebooks). To be honest, Microsoft would like Chromebook users to use the web version of Microsoft Office (aka Microsoft Office Online).
How to enable debugging usb, please?
On the turn on part it just boots back up
ty , respect bro
Thanks, but how do I activate the Bios and USB boot function? It says: WARNING: Booting legacy BIOS has not been enabled. Refer to developer-mode documentation for details.
Hi Mate just another quick message hope you get time to reply. I've just bought one and just enable developer mode thanks to you but. Since then it's asking me to update my device. If I do this will It wipe it all again and would I have to install developer mode again. Cheers Chris
You should be able to update the device without any issues. When you reboot to install the update, you'll get that boot up menu (from 3:25 of the video) so just navigate it (like I show in the video), choose "Boot from internal disk", and it should boot up in developer mode again.
Unless you accidentally select "Enable developer mode" at the aforementioned boot up menu (or mess up some developer mode related setting or get a bad/glitchy update from Google), you really shouldn't be seeing the device reset or wipe itself. Hope that helps.
it worked . and thank u so much for your help . but when we start duet it always shows an option to enable os verification and a beep sound comes plz tel if possible how to stop it appear on start
You can't stop it from appearing at the start. That's just something that all Chromebooks do when developer mode has been enabled.
disable os verification and boot from a usb and i wonder what will happen with windows 10 arm
Ur the man
Me deja acceder ahí pero está opción "Confirm Disabling OS Verification" no me aparece lo demás todo igual, en Lenovo 10e alguna solución?
My duet shuts down frequently and I don't know what to do.
i don't have the option "Confirm Disabling OS Verification" for me its "Show Debug Info" you can help me ?
confirm the disabling os verification then youll see it

update I accidentally rebooted back into normal mode!! woo!! let's hope my files aren't all gone
they are 👍
how do you stop it in the middle of it????
Got it on one try😁
Hello. Can you show us how to install Linux on that Chromebook? Some compatible versions for arm in dual boot or to remove chrome os completely.
I unfortunately don't currently have any plans to make that kind of video with the Duet. I know there is at least one project that is trying to get a linux distro (I think Ubuntu?) working on the Duet rn and it's still early days. A lot of basic things aren't working on it and they've only been able to get it working by booting Linux off of a USB drive (not ideal for a portable tablet). Installing full blown linux on ARM Chromebooks is a lot more difficult than it is with x86 Chromebooks so I wouldn't expect anything super usable for at least another year or so.
If this project, or something similar to it, manages to get a linux distro installed and working somewhat well on the Duet, I'll probably make some video on it. It's something that I would like to see happen, but it's just not yet at the point where I think that it's worth making a video over.
@@OctillionthTech Thanks
Thanks Nigga very helpful
Hey I really need your help with something I followed your tutorial about enabling developer mode on my Lenovo duet Chromebook but my screen cracked and I can't disable developer mode is it possible to do a step-by-step tutorial on how to disable it
I can't see anything on my screen I have to send my video image to my television but in the boot menu it doesn't mirror the screen of my tablet so I have to do everything by the number of times you click the buttons
@@BrinksEntertainment Just watch the "How To Turn Off Developer Mode" section of this video. When you boot up the Duet in developer mode, it starts off with a screen that looks like 4:03. Since the default selection (upon boot) will be on "Power Off", press the volume up button once (which will navigate up by one to the "Enable OS Verification" bit) and then hit the power button (to select Enable OS Verification).
From there just leave the Duet to do its thing. After a minute or so, you should hear a familiar "ding" sound signifying that the Duet has booted up normally with developer mode off. Since you can't see what's on the screen, this may take a few tries but it should work.
Feel free to come back and ask again if that doesn't work.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I heard you correctly... I'm going to have to go through this process every time my Chrome OS tablet power's off if I want to keep developer mode enabled? Essentially meaning developer mode will not stay enabled?
I really hope I heard incorrectly, because I download apk's all the time! 😑
No. You heard incorrectly. You do NOT have to go through this long process every time you turn on your Chrome OS tablet.
What I was talking is how the boot screen is gonna look different now. Whenever you turn on the Chrome OS tablet with developer mode enabled, the Chrome OS tablet will NOT boot automatically like it used to. Instead the ChromeOS tablet will start by showing a menu screen that you're gonna have to navigate through to get into ChromeOS. And the process for doing this is basically what I do from 3:27-3:39 in the video. So every time you turn on the tablet with developer mode enabled, you're gonna have to do the steps demonstrated in 3:27-3:39. It's a simple seeming menu, but one wrong move can lead the tablet to disabling developer mode. That's what I was referring to here.
My volume buttons are damaged so I can't do it, Any other way?
Volume up or down?
HELLO, I HAVE THE TABLET BUT I don't
RECOGNIZE THE EXTERNAL KEYBOARD
Could you please help me, greetings from Peru
does it work on a Chromebook Lenovo tablet?
Yea it does
You sound like you are a pretty knowledgeable guy; I wonder if you can help me. I installed Chrome OS on Lenovo windows laptop PC and it works wonderfully, except there is no developers section, thus (Linux Beta) access at all, and of course, since this is not an original Chromebook PC there is no such keys (trio) like esc + refresh + power (where you can tap to get in recovery mode), therefore I can not install anything on it; any idea how to fix it?
What method/service did you use to install Chrome OS on your Windows laptop?
@@OctillionthTech I followed this video ---> th-cam.com/video/3nKl2ztuaM0/w-d-xo.html
@@tufanolcay9813 It looks like you installed Chrome OS on your PC with the "Brunch" method. With this method, the version of Chrome OS that you have running *should* have developer mode enabled by default. You should have access to all the tools (including the ability to sideload android apps) that comes with having developer mode enabled.
As far as you not having access to "Linux Beta" (now just known as "Linux Development Environment"), I think you need to enable "visualization" in your computer bios to get that feature working.
To be honest though, I'm not overly familiar with Brunch so I'm probably not the best person to ask about this. There is a Github page for the "Brunch" project and it has a "discussion" and an "issues" section where you can freely post questions & comments. Going over there and asking the people there for help is probably the best way to resolve the issue you're having right now.
Github page: github.com/sebanc/brunch/discussions
Hope that helps.
@@OctillionthTech Thanks much for your answer. I guess I'd never be able to get it figured out!
thanks buddy!i forget this device is a tablet and i hold the external keyboard esc+refresh and power button and it doesn't work😂and take my whole day time
hey can i powerwash managed chomebook frome this method
I don't own a managed Chromebook so I can't say for sure, but I don't think so. Managed Chromebooks tend to have that sort of thing locked down.
And even if powerwashing is possible, it's important to note that powerwashing doesn't change/clear the fact that its a managed Chromebook. Only an admin can change a chromebook from being a managed one to a normal one. This might not be relevant for your use case, but I wanted to mention it since some people seem to think that powerwashing will get rid of the restrictions imposed on managed Chromebooks.
tried this method on a lenovo 10e but doesn't work
I can't get this to work on my Lenovo 10e, which should be internally identical to the Duet... Best I get is a white light on the power button, and no display at all. If I press the power button twice, it boots up Chrome OS like normal, but nothing brings up a Recovery menu, just either a black screen or normal booting.
I solved my own problem. It was in the right mode, but with a black screen. So by following the steps EXACTLY, and being very precise in copying the volume up and power inputs to select the right option... I enabled developer mode while the screen was off!
@@jasondailey9402 Huh. I've never heard of something like that happening, but I'm glad that you were able to figure out.
@@OctillionthTech yeah, I couldn't find a single source suggesting it has happened to anyone else... But I seem to have a special ability to suffer from unique issues like that!
@@jasondailey9402 Thank you, I experienced the black screen for recovery mode as well, but was able to do it like you said. Thank you for your comment.
This worked for me as well. The first two steps were a black screen but after that, the screen came back on and I could see to navigate.
Thank you very much! Why does Google want you to enable Developer Mode if you want to install APKs xD
It didn’t work is there any other way?
Hi mine didn't show the developer mode options. Please advise.
What options (if any) do show up for you? And are you trying to do this on the Lenovo Duet or some other Chromebook?
@@OctillionthTech Same for me, it shows up some depuration information...
They might've blocked it. It doesn't work on brand new Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 anymore. I have to return the device.
Edit: For the newer Duet 3, hold the power+vol up+vol down buttons for 10 seconds then release (not 5 seconds).
Bro it finished the thing and just went to the regular setup
What is the trick for the first one
What do you mean by "first one"?
